    I've just recently gotten into doing card tricks, and I've seen other tutorials on this move. This has thus far been the most useful. Very cleanly taught with beautiful presentation. Thank you for this video.

    Extremely well taught and organized Asad; even I have already did magic for quite some time this tutorial had brought some points that is crucial to a successful and well executed Elmsley Count.
    A practice tip to practice the Elmsley Count i want to add here is by starting with a 7 card packet face up, and Elmsley Count 4 cards; now ditch 1 card and do it again with 6. Continue to do the count and ditch cards every round. Upon reaching only 3 cards count them as if they are 4, same goes with only two cards. This exercise was suggested by Michael Ammar and I have found this to be the most effective to practice Emsley Count.

    Fantastic video I wish I had found this video sooner, it would have made the re-swindled routine learning curve so much easier. Thank you so much for the time and effort you have put into this video and for passing on your knowledge.
    One question though, are you left handed? I only ask as you hold the cards in the same way i would naturally pick them up and im left handed, a lot of tutorials im having to try and reverse everything im seeing and they are doing because of being a lefty.. it was a pleasure not to have to do that with this video 😂

    Hello Asad! I like you chanel, like the way you teach. Thank you for tutorial and for your job you doing for us. So, there is my question: we always see your sleight of hands and it's good, but I think, that it will be interesting for us, for your students to see your skills in showing your sleight of hands to real spectator like a street magic videos. It's not necessarily to do it all time, but if you'll do it, for example, one in ten videos, it will be realy cool and informative. What do you think about it?
    P.s.: I'm not english speaking, so I hope I wrote it all right :)

    Hi Asad. Just to clarify...you are right handed correct? I ask because I have always done the Helmsley count holding the cards in my left hand and swiping with my right. I'm wondering if I just learned it backwards, (I'm right handed) or if there is a reason you do it from right to left?

    • @52kards
      @52kards  8 років тому +2

      +Houston Curtis Hey Houston! Yes, I'm right handed. It's more efficient to pinch the cards in your right hand and swipe the cards using your left. This way the cards end on your default mechanics grip. If you have already spent a considerable amount of time practicing it in reverse then it's not the end of the world, but it is better form to start with the cards in your right hand.

      Alex Elmsley teaches left to right in his books, he performs it left to right and I believe he is right handed. I am right handed and I agree with you but I find it easier counting right to left.

    • @user-or6mz4gy6i
      @user-or6mz4gy6i 2 роки тому

      The trick is once you pushed the card back under the small deck in your right hand you can keep on counting until four. If you want to go beyond you either flash the cards or have to push the whole stack of hidden cards together with the masking card.

    • @dndfan3000
      @dndfan3000 8 років тому +4

      If your hands are too small to hide them naturally work on the angle a bit more and play around with the grip until you feel comfortable with the angle and the grip. To work on the angle either buy the mirror featured on this channel or just try it infront of a normal mirror if you're not too fussed about the side view. And for the performance which does involve the palm try to not stare at your hand and raise your voice slightly to distract the spectators. Hope this helped.

    I would strongly recommend you don't move your right hand....when you move the hand that the cards come out of, it looks more like a shuffle, than a count. Consider holding the back of your right hand against your inside knee/thigh so it can't move. Pro tips.

    Am I the only one having problem peeling off the first card without separation or even grabbing two cards? Annoying! So yeah, already frustrated at the counting part..

    • @monster762
      @monster762 5 років тому

      It's hard to explain in writing but I'll try.
      Assuming you are counting right to left like in the tutorial: with your left index finger across the far short edge of the packet, push down and outward to the left with your left thumb.
      The left index finger keeps the bottom three cards in place while the left thumb kind of forces the top card out and to the left.
      The initial separation is caused entirely by the hand that is taking the cards.
