Best card trick ever. You spread the cards and have the volunteer pick one. Have them place it in the deck. Have a platform that hides their hands from you and have them shuffle the cards below the platform as you stare them in the eyes. Have them place the deck on top the platform. Start nudging cards one at a time until they tell you to stop. Take that card they stopped on and flip it over. Ask "Is this your card" and watch their stunned reaction as you produce their exact card. This trick is absolutely guaranteed to work 1 out of 52 times.
Got my sister easily. She usually can figure out how I do them, but with this one, she cannot even fathom how it’s possible. I do it over and over and she has no clue. This one is a good one, NO ONE can figure this card trick out.
The only way to fathom how these kinds of tricks are possible is if you understand how magic works. If it involves sleight of hand, than even someone who's never picked up a deck of cards could get the gist of what you did (if you performed sloppily). But with tricks that work itself out. They're the fun ones. And for some reason usually the most powerful.
Ive got a card trick that is similar to this in the end where you smack the cards out of their hands and they are holding the card they picked. Sometimes they dont hold the deck tight enough and all the cards fall but it STILL usually works out where their card is the only one face up. once, the picked card ACCIDENTALLY flew over and landed in the guys other hand. It was great! a bunch of people saw it. the guy was convinced it was magic. lol
What i’ve found to be effective if they can’t riffle shuffle is just reversing the other half of the deck, then shuffling it yourself. Trick still works like a treat. (just remember to rotate before fanning out the cards) Another tip is instead of fanning out the cards just fan through in your hands to show them that they’re well mixed together - and half are upside down.
You are awesome man. I've always been fascinated with card tricks but I just started doing them myself recently and you make it so easy to learn them. In the last two days I've perfected 5 amazing card tricks thanks to you. Keep it up man, you're great.
Since we know the card at the end, I’d do a double lift and give them the “wrong” guess card(but really it’s their card) then reveal both cards at the end.
Luckily, my gf can riffle shuffle lol. I tried this and another trick and they worked perfectly! She was amazed. I showed her the secret later lol. As a beginner, I enjoyed pulling these tricks off. Once I get sleight of hand better I can try the more advanced tricks. I really enjoy your vids and thank you for getting me into magic.
If your spectator can't riffle you can reverse the piles, do their card's pile face down and the other pile face up. That way you also ensure they don't mess up your deck while you're turned around.
loved the video, it was a brilliant effect, but for some reason, for me the spectators card was the next face up one to the right, not the left. Not really an issue, i just needed to check the card to the right and the trick worked fine. i just found it weird how its the opposite of how you did it in the video update: i was stupid and didnt realize that i was spreading the deck in the wrong direction. if you spread the deck left to right, it works
i’m not sure if you already knew the answer but the key point is when the deck was cut in half right after the riffle shuffle.. by doing so, you automatically place the bottom of the card from the face up pile (which is actually the key card at the beginning of the trick) on top of the spectator’s card.. no matter how many cuts they do, that position will always be kept so long as the spectator, or you, doesn’t do any other kind of shuffling..
I had to subscribe to your channel coz it has a lots of cool tricks but , a brief explanation with good sound and sometimes repeat the main points is very important for a learner like me right and hope you will provide with different kind of Card tricks and do notify me 🤗. Thanking you
This is a good card trick, im 12 years old and, i have learned magic for like 3-4 years now and i was able to figure how this trick was done without the tutorial but this could get my family or friends pretty good :)
Great trick! Noob question: why does this happen? Why does their card end up on the left of the top card if they cut the deck as many times as they want?
It' will always be to the left because it was placed on top of the key card. Cutting the cards does not change the order of the deck it only changes the position of the cards. If the key card is the last face up card on the left then their card will be the first face up card from the right hand side of the deck. In other words the face up card furthest away from the key card.Hope this helps.
Don't know if someone else asked on here, but what happens if they flip the deck? Either accidentally or on purpose? now the key card is wrong way down... So how would you fix it?
Hey thanks for the shout out appreciate it. Yes this is a great effect. Don't remember what book I saw this in. But wonderful performance and tutorial. 😊😊👍👍👏👏😊😊
Hi guys, so I tried to do this trick to my parents after watching the video and practicing with myself at least 5 times to see if I got it right, and I did every single time. However, when performing the trick and after explaining carefully, they switched everything because at the end the key card wasn't one of the upside cards, therefore their selection was one of the upside down cards and the trick was ruined. My suggestion is that you cut the deck yourself, then show them the card without watching it, and then shuffling with your eyes closed or have someone cover your eyes so you can't cheat. This way, if you're the one shuffling you can make sure that the spectator's card is actually facing up and you can do the rest
Nicolás Ortíz wonder if you can do it so the “revealed “ card stack is put face down and the bottom stack is half that is turned face up. That way the magician can watch to be sure its done right, but wont see the card. Then, just let the person split the deck in half on time and stack, that way the ‘chosen’ card is in the middle. You can spread the cards (the chosen card is face down, but in the middle) and then you can eliminate a few card from each end. Then flip the cards over and continue. That might add some confusion to the audience because In this video, they audience knows their card is already one of the face up ones, But you you are looking, then turn the whole deck over again, they might forget if their card was face up of face down. I am just learning this tricks too, myself. So just giving some ideas
Just practicing 5 times isn't enough. Besides knowing what you have to do and doing that, you also have to make everything smooth and really think about how you will perform.
If the spectator does this, it most likely means they already know the trick, and that doing that ruins it. Calling them out on not following directions ALSO ruins the trick. If they do a second riffle, you will at least hear it, and know the trick is busted before you turn around, and you need to switch into a new trick. But here's an idea for a fix to catch this. You know how you can turn over a line of spread cards all at once? Just do that an odd number of times if you can't find it during the first spread, or an even number of times if you can. If you pick the deck up, turn it over and spread it again (and you HAVE to spread it to catch the case of the cards on the ends) that's suspicious. but if you do the card flip flourish a few times, you are just showing off. Flipping more times than actually required in either case is what's important.
What am I doing wrong? Found out that if the spectator cuts it a few times, that sometimes the next card on the left isn't the selected card?! It's because of the cut, that it's in another place in the deck.
I like the concept of the trick an it's an also a trip to memory bad..an also very understandable method to teach ..I got concept first try.. awesome man...I got a few e u ain't seen to much..they up my sleeve..I'ma def use your methods...it basically another form of fack shuffles an the lift two cars thing....I nva knew bout that an glad I now kno
The best part of watching all the MLT videos is I can watch other card tricks and when the magician says your card is now lost in the deck I can say, "No, it's on the bottom/top"
And that's when you realize they aren't doing a trick that involves the card being at the bottom or top of the deck and you end up looking like an idiot

Levi Major That is probably because you spread out the cards from right to left, and when I did it in the video I spread them out from left to right.

How is it that the card your looking for is always left of your marker card or the card on top???

Sweet trick, keep em coming....
Just wondering if they have to be completely exact with their ripple shuffle?
Your videos have great performances and tutorials. And I really like all the different decks you use and not just regular bicycle.
Great trick!
Noob question: why does this happen? Why does their card end up on the left of the top card if they cut the deck as many times as they want?
this is a valid question
It’s a matter of probability. If you cut enough times, it won’t be
It' will always be to the left because it was placed on top of the key card. Cutting the cards does not change the order of the deck it only changes the position of the cards. If the key card is the last face up card on the left then their card will be the first face up card from the right hand side of the deck. In other words the face up card furthest away from the key card.Hope this helps.
