Another great upload thanks Team Troy! Well done on the Shellfish - I remember you saying that Crayfish were very scarce so a great catch. Despite the Rain, Thunder & Lightning, it looked quite flat out there. Good trip out. Stay safe & well - Dave. 🎣🎣👍👍

Super i love your videos you and your wife are doing great here in ameruca we dont have near the quality of fish or fishermans 😊
Another great day afloat. Shame it was raining on you.
Hi Troy and Rebecca. I’m not an expert in these matters but I have noticed that every time you lift a pot you have to manually rotate the said pot as it always comes up upside down. I think this is because your rope is attached to the top of the pot. Might it come up the right way up if the rope was attached the the bottom of the pot. Steve.
It will come up correct when no tide but most of the time the tides running hard
💜👍💜👍
Why not attach a guage to the top of each pot it will save fumbling about to find it ? Are the lobsters and crab more active at night?
Its no bother part of the game. Yes they are more active at night or in deep water
Hello, its nice to see a crayfish. We dont get them here. Do they taste similar to a lobster?
I find they taste completely different to lobster or crab
@@Trojwaterman cheers, I will have to get myself one and try it
Are the crayfish better eating than crab or lobster in your opinion?
I prefer crab and lobster crayfish are completely different in taste
Great day out guys , hope you enjoy your dinner 😂
Dinners have been awesome recently 😁
, cc
Does crayfish taste the same as lobster
Nope it tastes nothing like lobster or crab
When you compare a crayfish and lobster you'd wonder how they survive given the lobster can better defend itself and can use its claws to crush shellfish etc.
The crayfish has a powerful kick to its tail, sharp spikes and the antenna are like rings of razor blades. Plus they often hang around in groups :)
@@Trojwaterman Would any of that help them in a confrontation with a similar sized lobster or crab though? The latter can also forage for and kill their own food which I doubt a crayfish can?
I think most disputes are territorial amongst the same species although lobster will prey on crab. Cray tend to stay in more open deeper areas. Before the decline in cray from diving and nets many years ago they co existed with large crab and lobster
I wasn't sure what to expect from the name "crayfish". We use that name for a freshwater creature that looks more like a small lobster, including the claws. The largest "crayfish" I have ever caught was 8 inches tip to tail, and was in a small stream near my parents home outside Millersville Pennsylvania. Typical size of the ones we would catch were only a couple of inches long. Mind you, we were catching them by hand and thought ourselves very brave to grab up something that might pinch our fingers.
The name here is crawfish but most say crayfish. We also have European lobsters so keep the names different to avoid confusion
I don't know how much you're charging over there but the retail costs here for those are
August 2023 Fish Prices Australia
Crab Retail Price per Pound 4.85 Eur
Lobster Retail Price per Pound 22.95 Eur
Crayfish / Rock Lobster Retail Price per Pound 17.50 Eur
Probably less than half that
@@Trojwaterman You are too nice to your customers but I guess you would have to be to compete with others there around you.
