It was reported last year that WB did in fact cut the season down from 10 episodes to 8 with a major battle sequence being moved to Season 3. Which is pretty apparent when watching this episode.
The show is most definitely not over, but I will agree that they’ve made some poor pacing choices. Let us all be real for a moment here and rein it in; this show is UNDOUBTEDLY the best show running currently, and it’s not even close.
My dudes! I'll come back and watch the rest of this in a day or two, or a week. The negativity from the Basement is making me sad (about you guys, not about HotD). I'm disappointed that you couldn't see all the good stuff this season has brought us. If the rest is as negative as the first third of the video, I may have to skip the Game of Stools next season. You're breakin' my heart, boys.
Wasn’t a bad episode, but it was a bad finale, would’ve made a good penultimate episode, needed 1 more episode this season to give us something to want to come back to but it was All Filler No Killer
I thought this was a pretty good HOTD episode, pretty good season overall. I like how Robbie has to lead everyone to understanding that it was still good because all of the pieces were pretty good.
It feels like episode 8 of a 10 episode season. Imagine if S2 of GoT ended with Stannis preparing for the siege of kings landing, and we didnt get Blackwater for another 2 years. That is how this feels.
This is funny because Blackwater wasn’t even the finale of Season 2. The finale was also a set up episode, resetting the board after blackwater and setting up season 3
Am I the only one who didn’t think the finale was that bad? People were expecting them to have a entire war in one episode they were always going to leave it to season 3
It was a mid episode but a really bad finale come on,they dont know how to make the scenes that matters and those who dont long or short enougt to not make the episode a mess of useless scenes
@@MarcoInaros-ns7ut I think people expectations were way higher than what it should have been for this final I agree it could have been better but the overreaction is a bit much. I just seen someone say this season was worse than season 8 lol
Everyone complaining about pacing are the same people who said they rushed season 8. Make up your minds and just enjoy an incredible piece of television
The funny fact that I noticed is that every white man in this show is presented by showrunners as either a villain, a loser, or a misogynist. Aemond is a crazy adolph, Aegon killed ratcatchers, is a weakling, a rapist; Daemond is arrogant, doesn't care about his daughters, etc. Otto is an ambitious slug who uses Viserys for his own gain. Viserys is a weak king who even sent help to Daemond in season 1 only after his young wife advised him to. He also deposed Otto after his daughter demanded it. Moving on: Larys killed his own family. Those dudes on Rhyanyra's council who are presented by the showrunners as misogynists. The only "positive" good white men are those who side with Rhyanyra (in a figurative sense: who accept women's power above them): the Lord Commander, one of the guard twins, etc. Note that her eldest son becomes more distant and more aggressive (i.e. the "dark" male sides of his character come to the surface) as soon as he starts arguing with his mother. Next up - Kristen Cole, no comments, all hate him (not me btw, interesting arch). The exceptions are either children (the new Lord Tully) or old people (Simon Strong) or black people (the maester). Where are strong independent and clever white male characters in this show who are presented as good or at least neutral? Where are good male characters that act on their own, avoiding womens' leadership? Once Daemond becomes more or less "good", getting through all those dreams and apologizing to his brother, and killing that guy "rectifying his grievous error" as Tully said, he casts aside his goal and kneels before Raehnyra (to be "good" in this show always means you are obedient to a woman, no offence to dear girls who i respect, it's just a fact). Most people will not understand my comment but I don't care to be honest. You can say - it is the world of game of thrones, there are no good characters. But what about countless good independent clever and so on so on female characters? Helaena, queens, ladies, Daemond's daughters? Even a bordel worker speaking with Aemond speaks some clever stuff about "your actions affect smallfolk". In game of thrones prostitues cut throats of guards, betrayed and shared whispers looking for power. Where is all of this "real life" stuff? As for the main point, not sure about Gwain yet, but they showed us how he screwed up at 3rd episode with that dragon which only reinforces my theory. The showrunners give us tons of stupid or uncapable men with the exceptions of villains Larys and Otto. It is just classic social engineering, they make young guys weak and feminine in their minds. And also prepare for a woman president in the US while at it. Don't forget is is watched by millions. Young ones don't have critical thinking. The main unspoken line put simple - If you're a white man, being a masculine, confident, clever and independent from womens' opinion or acceptance makes you a villain, bad person. Fire all feminists in your stuff guys, it's just ridiculous. As for others who think I wrote gibberish - wait for the 3rd season where a 35-40 years old mother of 5 Rhaenyra will perhaps beat tons of guys with a sword after taking 1 or 2 classes for 30 minutes each. As for season finale, it was weak, not even close. The only thing I liked was the outburst of the Corlys' bastard. Great performance. And Aegon's arch -- the only thing that makes me continue watching this. I beg you - don't screw it up.
Genuinely cannot stand KFC at this point, made it 5 minutes in before i was out and also Clem is literally just doing a KFC imitation at this point, its embarrassing.
This whole season was just a build up for the all out war wich is whole season long. If they wouldn't have gotten the season 3, then this would have been longer season with smaller budget and you would have been crying about the quality. ALSO, this differs from the book, because Martin want's it, there is a reason he is heavily involved in this and visits there, the whole diffrerences are by Martin, because he has said that he regrets that the book got published too soon and he did't change things before that. There is an actual interview him saying that.
This is so dramatic lol it wasn’t that bad. The reason season 8 sucked is because nothing made sense everything they’ve built up they threw away in one season. The reason you didn’t like this season was because it was more slow paced
Dude in the top right: Jesus Christ bro- calm down! Dude in the bottom left: even worse- too loud, like ffs shhhhhhh it'll be ok you makin me go deaf my God.. and is that a strap on beard?
Euron built 1,000 ships in the span of two episodes. Corlys fixed one ship in 8 episodes
End of season 1: okay the stage is set! Next season there will be war!
End of season 2: okay the stage is set! Next season there will be war!

I’m sure the reasoning was the budget. I didn’t mind this final at all I think season 3 will be far better
I agree with all the disappointment with the finale, but KFC whining is so hard to listen to
Saw this on twitter but its sums up the episode perfectly. This felt like episode 8 of a 9 or 10 episode series lol
KFC just yells louder and assumes he's right.. what's new??
where was he wrong that episode fucking sucked
I tried to time it so I was subscriber 50,000. I waited too long...but congrats Robbie and Clem.

It felt like they didn’t realize that there was only 8 episodes instead of the regular 10 the season needed one more big battle to cap it off (gullet)
@@trevyb1646 that’s going to be all of season 3. It’s should have just been a movie or two, honestly

Why didn't they show us Aemond burning down Sharps Point? That would have made it better and shown just how much Aemond is losing control.

i agree with everything that the guy at 1 o clock is saying.
They guy in the dream sequence is the three eyed raven who is a Targaryen, not Helena
Why are people expecting a series finale in season 2?!? This was as big a set up episode you could get! People are crazy with expectations.
Thankfully, unlike what KFC, I will be fully satiated by Dunk and Egg series. Such a sick story.
This should have been the penultimate episode.
No momentum heading into the next season with 100 armies on the move?

There was a writers strike in middle of filming season n a rush to finish it when strike ended
No, those are just dragon cucks, lol. "We want to see some dance!" Welp, it happens in season 4 so wait all you wan't.
I don’t care about battles or the dragons, I like the politics, scheming and chaos. I think the story is poorly written.
CleMVP firing this episode..."The show that never was"
They forget to show, not tell. Important events mostly happen off-screen.
Normally watch these all the way through. But KFC is intolerable.
They weren’t going to blow their load. So much more to the story from the book. So much to still happen. They have to stretch it out
Everyone complaining about pacing are the same people who said they rushed season 8. Make up your minds and just enjoy an incredible piece of television

I just finished watching the finale, I totally agree with the guy at the top right corner😂😢. Disappointed😮💨 and angry 😤
How does KFC not have a decent microphone?
I tried, then KFC talked. See ya later.
He is worth how much and doesn’t have a microphone??? Complete disrespect to My Moms Basement site. Disrespect to Robbie. Buy a microphone 🎙️KFC!!
