I love AA's intelligent humor that doesn't rely on obsceneity, vulgarity or even the high-horsed perspective that seems to plague most personalities in his position. Glad to see him get such a healthy amount of recognition for what he does and I consider myself lucky to have found this man during the pandemic! What an iconic intellectual.
If you pick the same interactions ie. talk about interests over and over, the sims get bored. Then your interaction fails. Mix up the interactions. I hope you make more of these videos. The Sims series are my favorite.
maybe this is how the mega rich live.. a bunch of cavernous empty rooms an everything of use crammed in to random corners, never stopping and horribly miserable and going to work in a cyborg suit
I know some pretty rich people because I do their taxes. The ones who seem to be most content tend to focus on their families and their religious beliefs. They also tend to be very charitable. The ones who spend money like water and feel compelled to maintain a certain lifestyle tend to be miserable. There are a lot of middle class people like this, too, so I suppose the lesson to be learned is to be content with what you have at the moment and realize that the people in your life are more important than your things.
@@Ahrimane I like the idea that materialistic items are temporary throughout our lives. Moments we share with our families and friends are far more important, as they do not last forever.
I love the fact you have a butler and walkin aquarium, but still have the urine recliner and PC at the cheap plastic dining tabld. Truly the American Dream 🦅🇺🇸
Steps to win at romance in Sims 1: 1) Have a house small enough so that it doesn't take 3 hours to go from bedroom to front door. 2) Get a financial cushion without bothering about romance. 3) Fix your needs; be well-rested, empty bladder, showered (Sims crying for help takes 15 minutes and cancels interactions). 4) Get a job with short work times and ideally a work-shift that matches hers. 5) On a day off, invite her over, cook dinner. 6) Talk to her, but don't repeat the same actions over and over. Sims get bored if you do that. 7) Once she likes you, kiss. It's not that hard, but inviting her over at 11pm with 3% energy, 5% bladder, and 0% hygiene is asking for disaster. Sims 1 isn't so hard, you're just playing it really weirdly.
59:50 The urbs on ps2 i think was the first actual sims game I've ever played besides sim city and it's definitely also left quite a strong impression on me when i was younger
1:18:43 If you look outside of the store Slagathor is in, you can actually see Claire (even though she's supposed to be at work) walking by. She immediately leaves, but then comes back again at 1:19:11 and proceeds to start dancing with some lady inside the restaurant across from the store.
Watching you force him to talk to a woman over and over again while most of his needs are in the red is one of my top 5 most frustrating moments watching someone else play a game.
Im happy I wasnt alone lol!!! He has to fulfill his and her need, then just kiss her, so easy, he makes it look like is hard and dares to say Sims 1 is too hard lol, no, u just playing it super all over the place 🤣🤣
I love that Slagathor ended up in the same situation as me: making more money than I have any right to be while still not being able to afford a decent house so I just stuff my shitty home with fancy things to try to justify my suffering.
To make sims friends fast I took them for vacation and made them sit in a hot tub often) That way they can talk, but also hygiene and fun also go up (if I remember it right) Multitasking))
So you never got that baby back? That's funny. And neither of the parents seemed to mind. He went swimming the next day. I was really hoping for an amazing finale, instead he gets demoted to a crappy journalist :(. Like what is there to look forward to, marriage? lol
Honestly the career reroll chance card is why I prefer to keep my Sims at level 8 of hacker career, because there's a WAY better chance card if you wait long enough
Your needs have to br higher for good results in wooing. Also their needs have to be decent for it to work. If she's tired or you smell bad she won't want to hug. You should have seen that there was a shower icon above her head xed out telling you, you stunk.
im no parent BUT i cant see why they took his baby lmao it had lots of fresh air outside, the rain will clean it, it got food and social when slagathor was done chillin in the hot tub or sleeping in his luxury bed, plus that social security lady only had to stand in a little bit of pee. SMH my head.
I never played The Sims 2 but I did play The Urbz on the PS2 and I thought it was fantastic. I feel bummed that I missed out on getting the digital download for The Sims 2 from EA because now it's no longer available.

I noticed this too! Made me want to watch him more to hear his Sisyphus jokes lol
One of my degrees is in English so I get a lot of his references hehe. Plus he's a fun guy in general.
when he pisses himself after getting married I died.

I like the part where he says “OOBAY, LELALA”

Good video, glad I could watch it at 11.834% speed and finish it

Would love to see this with more sims episodes
New challenge: See if you can get a baby repossessed by not paying your bills lol

When I found out this game was designed as satire on society it suddenly made so much sense 😅
