kristen has come such a long way in terms of her physical presence. her eloquence, her choice of words, her subdued confidence. she's not a fumbling teenager anymore. it's great to see.
She was the most eloquent and smooth teenager. Don't talk about things you know nothing about. Only when she became an adult her social anxiety became elevated because of BS that the media and dumb people gave her.
Playing Princess Diana is probably the most important role in Kristen's career as an actress, so I wish she could win an Oscar, she deserves it, absolutely. On the other hand, they found the right actress to play Princess Diana's character, and that's why Kristen will make history playing this important role.
No offense, but I disagree. I'd never seen Diana this way before. She was ungracious, weak, and utterly unhinged. I like how they made it all a whisper so we didn't have to hear Kristen trying to sound anything like Diana too often; that bit was a stroke of genius because it suited the story as well hid the fact that Stewart didn't bring it. She couldn't even be bothered to have blue eyes to play Diana.

This was like a transformation just as Renee in Judy or Natalie Portman in both Jackie (She was robbed by Emma Stone which is ridiculous) and Black Swan. It was just a masterclass performance. It's kinda hard to ignore it. The same goes with Meryl Streep in The Iron Lady. Just so transformative. After the film ended, I didn't want it to stop. It was haunting just as it was so beautiful. We are missing out on so many old movies and good new shows and movies. Thanks.
I wouldn't count on that. So far only the critics have liked it. Wait til audiences see it. I saw it today and it was not good. She was not good in it. Just another Kristen Stewart movie where she plays some version of herself. I never believed I was watching Diana not for one minute.
@@erickjohnson6438 Good luck. It did terrible at the box office this weekend, making less than half of what French Dispatch made it's opening weekend in the same amount of theaters, and FD didn't have all the Oscar hype that Spencer has. Stewart's accent comes and goes, she whispers most of her lines and when she does raise her voice, she sounds just like she did in Breaking Dawn when she was yelling at Jacob about naming her baby after the Loch Ness monster. She has no vocal control but it's really the script that gives her not much to work with. I don't know what they were thinking, they make Diana out to be crazy and unsympathetic. It's almost like Prince Charles wrote the script. I don't know what the critics are raving about, makes me wonder if they were all paid off.
Well her clothes were maybe one area Charles did not have total control over so fashion was one of her only escapes or ways to be defiant. I did hear after the divorce she wanted to wear high heels again would not with him because she was so tall she would have towered over him. Even as recently as the Queen's funeral there was huge debate as to if Harry should be "allowed" to wear his military outfit since he has no royal title now and I was so shocked because he's an actual combat veteran regardless of titles that's not a costume he earned his medals too they are not just ornamental. It's like a place setting at a table you must use the correct fork etc. everything must be perfect.
I can't believe the way the critics have raved about this, it's a glorified Lifetime movie. She didn't look or act like Diana. She did a whisper accent most of the time with some mumbling thrown in, and whenever she yelled she sounded just like "You named my daughter after the Loch Ness monster?!???" Didn't sound like Diana at all. I also didn't care for the way they made Diana seem like she was crazy the whole time. It seemed like Charles could have written the script.
As a huge Diana fan I really wanted to like this film but i just didn’t. It was all far too OTT and frankly portrayed Diana in a horrible way, like she was a complete nut job! Also i just didn’t feel the actress portraying Diana was really much like her. Diana was not only highly attractive but also extremely charismatic and warm and i just didn’t get that from this actress. She made Diana come across as this miserable highly strung madwoman. If Diana herself was alive and watched this she would probably be mortified and highly embarrassed.
Actually it should say "Un-becoming." If you ever wandered what "mis-cast" (as in "casting") refers to? Just watch this movie - if you don't have the time, the trailer will do - and you'll get a good idea about the meaning of the term. It will also explain what "hype" is all about (as in "hyper-ventilating"...)
Attempts to be profound. "Spencer," interview in a tailored blazer, etc. Your hairstyle and that man with an earring is a joke only no one is laughing.
Kristen Stewart’s portrayal was phenomenal! That being said, the problem is that Diana was nothing more than a shallow, solipsistic individual. I think the movie The Queen was a far better movie.
It wasn't easy being an idol who is kindness and have a good heart like Princess Diana did. But, i dont know its just me feels like her acting and face gesture was so unfriendly, while Diana looks like more delicate in a real life. Do you agree?
She done a great job in the movie, however i think the movie Spencer is just a lie and a horrible jab at Princess Diana. They have portrayed her as a mental basket case and that just was not the truth at all!
That wasnt their intention and it didnt read as such if you were aware that hallucinations and outbursts of emotion were artistic expressions to show the emotional state of being a human trapped in an inhumane environment. "Mental basket case" is a terrible term. Is there a person in this world one could accurately call that? It reads as a horrible lack of awareness in mental health issues
Poor Kristen nailed the entire movie within this video's first 25 seconds: _"Cold, Heavy, and Long."_ She's Bella again. Imagine Twilight without Edward or Jacob. That's this movie. I never saw Diana Spencer as such a spoiled self-absorbed brat before. It's a whole new take on The People's Princess.
It doesn't bode well for me that they don't apparently know that she was never Princess Diana. She was Diana, Princess of Wales. She cannot be called Princess Diana. Technically, if you want to be totally accurate, she was Princess Charles, just as Princess Michael is that because her husband is Prince Michael. It's a small thing, but pretty important really when you're purporting to make a film about her.
I don’t know if you’re from the UK but Diana is considered the ‘people’s princess’ here. She was a brave woman who showed her humanity and genuine care for others while being suffocated in a heartless institution, the same institution that would sit in their ivory tower refusing to acknowledge people’s suffering or those outcast from society. Diana was a voice for the voiceless. You’re right, she lost her official title ‘Diana, Princess of Wales’ after her divorce from Charles, but she gained something greater afterwards, and that was her title given to her from the British public - so yes, I believe in this interview Kristen and Pablo are referring to Diana as a princess of people’s hearts - that was her most important title, much greater than the former.
