Thank you for the info! My dwarf gourami have built a nest in their quarantine tank. I was not intending on breeding them but if they end up with eggs now I know what to do.
@@b.p3469 ok. Please keep them safe. Father will lookafter eggs. When they hatch remove the father and keep feeding to fry without any ammonia spickes.
@@SerendibAquatics wouldn’t the male start eating them when hatching specially if it is a new dad? I got scared cause i see him picking on the nest too much. I just removed it. They lied the eggs 28 hours ago 😅 did i made a mistake?
@@fishlifetv1617 thank you. Male should remove after 24 hours of egg laying process. Can keep up to 48 to 72 hours according the behaviors of the male. If male is continue to guard the fry, better to keep until free swim of the fry. In my case male try to eat fry. Then i removed him bit early.
I have an unusual situation. I bought a flame gourami last week and then another this week. I noticed the coloring on the second fish was dull but not extremely dull. I wasn’t sure if it was male or female. A day or so later, I noticed the older gourami was hiding under a bunch of hornwort plants at the top and corner of my aquarium. Then I noticed what looked like a bunch of bubbles. This morning, it’s still there and the nest is brown? But he’s very protective of that area, chasing away other gouramis - which he avoided when I first introduced him to the aquarium. I’m thinking of putting a breeding cage around the area rather than try to remove the nest - I don’t have another aquarium to put fish in. Does this make sense?
@@priest25 i think this time you can study the behaviours of fish. Best option is try to breed them in separate aquarium in next time. When we put an breeding cage sometimes male will eat all eggs due to stress/disturbances. You can use plastic baskets to breed them.
@ thanks much! I bought the cage and tried it for a few hours. The gourami seemed upset so I took the cage out. It’s a community aquarium and my first time having the fish attempt to breed. I’ll just let “nature take its course.”
@@SerendibAquatics yes, I'll make note of that. Also, can i refer to this video for breeding of any type of gourami? Because I'll be breeding dwarf gouramis and snow white gouramis
Yes. At the moment most of fish varities i have been kept as hobby. Now i am doing breeding also as a part of my hobby. Some times i sell them coz i want to empty the tanks for new species. Otherwise I am not doing this as profit.
@@FirozAlam-fm4zz 1st you should find a pair. I already described it in the vedeo. Then you can go though according to the steps which i mentioned in vedeo. If you have any questions , put it here i will answear to all.
