What gorgeous weather you got ☀️ The Lakes are lovely and some great spots you found there. Hope you had a fab time seeing the lovely Suz and Ste and what a cracking site they are on 😍 xx
What a cracking spot you found after you moved on. Lovely with a little river running by. Especially in the Lake District. Castlerig Hall is great too isn’t it. Hope you’ve all had a great Easter 🐣 All the best, David & Rachel 👍
It really was a cracking little find 😀 like we say things happen for a reason! We love parking next to rivers it’s so relaxing listening to the sound of the water. Castlerig hall was 🤩 stunning! Happy Easter guys x
I still find it mazing that with all of the info readily available and the fact that most van-lifers seem to follow each others’ channels they fail to know of the rules in National Parks. The rules for Wild Camping in the Lakes have been in place for many years. There is no difference between rocking up to a non-campsite location in the Lakes in a van or pitching a tent - it ain’t allowed. Just because you put a few bob in a meter doesn’t make it OK. If you can afford a van like that you can afford to go and stay in one of the many hundreds of campsites in the Lakes. Just because you have a van with a bed doesn’t give you a god given right to stay wherever you want - it doesn’t matter if there are 50 other vans parked where you are, it still doesn’t make it right. If you want to Wild Camp in the Lakes, get a tent, put it in a back pack and climb above the highest wall and pitch there, if you can’t do that or park in a camp site, stay at home. You can’t eat Fray Bentos without mushy peas - that also is illegal, in fact more so.
We don’t really class staying in a van as wild camping !!! Plus I don’t see what affording a campsite has to do with it ? And just because someone hammers a no parking/sleeping in your vehicle sign in don’t give them the right to tell people what to do !! It’s about money and power the reason they don’t like it there ..
Music I find is one of the hardest things to get right , so hopefully I nailed it lol .. I knew I couldn’t not film a steam train David 😋 .. definitely don’t go to the lakes during any holiday season lol 😂 it gets so busy .
Fantastic Vlog, thank you so much for mentioning us. We agree with you, in all the years we have been going to Lakes, its not the most accommodating for people responsibly camping/off grid. I do hope it doesn’t stop you going again in the future, would be great to bump into you guys again. Hope you had a great weekend.
You had some cracking weather there. Lovely vlog and some awesome parkups. Like you say, sometimes things happen for a reason ❤ Bring back Bailey cam!!! X
Great vlog as always guys. Ste really wants to do the park up with the steam train now 😂 Was fantastic to finally meet you all we had a great night in your lovely van 😍. Hopefully we will all catch up again soon 😘💜xx
Listening to y'all going up that hill was so funny to me; it reminds me of the beginning of my journey with my bike up so many hills...I thought I was in such good shape...the hills were laughing then 😅💚😅💚😅💚
Great video. Glad you got your pie even if it didn't quite rise as hoped. Reminded me of holidays as a kid although we had to share one between 5 of us was still a treat. The stop in Yorkshire dales looked amazing. Take care guys 👍
Yep it's a real shame. We found pre lurgy you could almost park anywhere in a small motorhome. But now it's ridiculous. Off season we parked at Haven sites for £9 a night which included swimming pool etc. When we knew a bank holiday was coming up we booked sites. Watch out for small print. Some car parks have a weight max limit of 2.2 tonnes. Our small Talbot weights 2.8ton although fits into a normal car space. Happy Adventures. Cheers from old George and Jane 🤠👧👫
It sure is a real shame guys , I’ve seen the small print in some car parks , think it’s a downside to owning a bigger motorhome. Thanks for watching guys , all the best ❤️
you should have gone to seascale carpark right next to the beach, you can only get in one way as theres a low train bridge so dont drive through the village theres a costal road from ravenglass
The Lake district is hopeless for wild camping, I was really disappointed when I went 2 years ago, I had intended spending about 2 weeks in the area on my way to Scotland and ended up having to leave after 2 nights as I could not find anywhere to spend the night, instead I continued on to Scotland and swc300 where I was welcomed with open arms. So that's where I spent my money for the next 6 months and I am heading back there soon.
Totally agree there David the council in the lakes would rather spend money on signs and looking out for people enjoying them selfs than fixing bigger issues , yes Scotland have a better attitude towards it all together 👍
Long time motorhomer here.I used to wild camp everywhere, but I now use campsites and aires. We started to feel like Gypsies camped on the side of the road.Things are changing, there are too many campers descending on beauty spots, causing them to be off limits.
@Terry too many campers descending on popular beauty spots. Locals complaining they can't get parking. That's my take on it. Eventually there will be no wild camping allowed. It's being clamped down on in Spain and Portugal. Because it's being abused. People are staying for weeks in places where there is a 48hr max stay.
Great wee vlog. It’s so disappointing that in The UK Motorhomers etc are not welcome…..Councils are really missing a trick as not all Motorhomers are so inconsiderate that they leave a mess behind. Personally, I’ve yet to meet one.
Most of us motorhomes/van lifers are responsible and respectful and leave without a trace but it’s the minority as always that get the publicity and give us all a bad name, personally I think Cumbrian councils are missing out on so much money by not being motorhome friendly, even if they had half dozen parking spots and charged a small fee over night the return they would get would be fantastic! Why can’t they see this?
@@pauljohnson9542 restrictions are in place for reasons , we simply didnt know we couldn’t stop there it’s about money .. maybe he was a jobsworth rather than a hitler ? 😂 you get them everywhere you know !!

Bloody jobsworths 🤣🤣 anyway looks like you got a much nicer park up so as you say some things are meant to happen for a reason 😊 we love the lakes ❤ although the walk did look a bit of a hike into Keswick 🫤 we need to go and visit Steve and Suzie soon !! 😊 xxx
wow he's just like you:)

So jealous guys, we need to grow some balls and do it full time
I suppose it takes a lot andy and we still have a few more weeks yet 😛
The camping chairs look well comfortable... Do you know what they are 😁😁 looks like a great spot guys

Exactly Terry the want to take our rights away .
That’s another problem jack people just find a spot and take root there and it annoys the locals who constantly complain to the council.
Nice vlog as always guys, some brilliant views and great drone shots. All the best Bryan and Dawn Mr&Mrs_H_on_tour
