Fantastic, good colour for the 63 too but it is all about the engine. !!! This rebuild will be worth it. not surprised it's a keeper!

I was screaming gear linkage at the screen when you were struggling with the ignition key. So pleased you got there in the end and hopeful you will get it all repaired.😊

Hope you get this C63 all fixed up and on the road again. What a car, my friend used to have one, going through a tunnel is an epic sound experience. Trust you get to do that too! 👍👍👍 Hope you keep it all standard spec, inside and out and no boy racer cheap wheels. It will be worth more unmolested when you want to move it on!
Nice car Phil! I just new it was gearbox related, that or something as simple as not putting your foot on the break to start it! Well done for your perseverance and getting there in the end. Looking forward to seeing the end result 👍

Really happy she fired up, Phil - I was thinking some kind of interface between the gearbox and the ignition/steering lock just before you worked it out - right, crack on - wanna see her on a road test soonest !
You've cracked the hard part, well done. Modern cars (especially German cars) are just too complex these days but fortunately we have the Internet to help us out !

Yep pyro fuse will stop it starting, that's buried below the other positive power connector under the bonnet. Key looks like it won't release because the gearbox has been knocked into neutral to be moved

Check the gearbox is in Park as sometimes it will not release the car key if not in park

On my Mercedes there is another fuse box on the drivers side on the end of the dash, you won’t see it with the door closed,lovely car Phil
