  • This is the second in a series of MasterClass videos for WaveCloud. In this video we cover some of the new additions and changes in v1.01, and take an extended look at the mod-matrix, reverse engineering some of the MPE presets.
I really want to thank David Collett once again for his ability to throw together such a comprehensive manual at such short notice, and of course for the inclusion of his preset bank.
If you have purchased WaveCloud and are enjoying the app please consider giving it a review on the App Store.

Hi Paul! I recently got into the iPad "music making" scene, as of November this year. I just became aware that you had been experiencing serious health concerns over the last years. As I've been doing app research pretty much full time over the last 50 days, I've had the pleasure of watching many of your app showcase videos and I've come to realize how much of an amazing person you are. Knowing that 4pockets is a one man operation and the extent of your contribution to this community over the years, the thought that you would be unwell or worse literally had me tearing up. Know that you are deeply loved and appreciated. I hope that you're now feeling better and that you're receiving all the support that you need. Wishing you the best. Sincerely, Michael.

Excellent demo Paul. And with the bonus that I'm finally beginning to understand granular a bit!

That's nice to hear Si, I always try and set my sights on helping those that might not fully understand so glad it is paying off.

Thanks. It is just a great app and very clever explanations. For now I can't afford it yet but I'm saving money to buy this app in the near future. I think it is a must have for granular lovers and all those crazy sound designers. Greetings.

great update, that really fixes the issues with the size of the interface.
the reason i got me a copy of wave cloud is it’s possibility the “freeze” a sample at a certain spot and hold the sound infinitely, without loosing it’s character. before granular you only could achieve this by looping parts of the sample, which mostly never really worked very well.
in wave cloud you can do this quite simply in the wave glide mode, by dialing the hold time of one glide marker to a very high time. the only little flaw is, that the maximum time is 32s and not actually infinity. in 99,9% of the cases, that’s more than enough, but sometimes you might need more. that might be a little tweak for some future updates.
another thing i like to have is the possibility, to play a sample to the end in the release phase. that means: after pressing a key the sample plays from it’s start point until it’s loop/freeze point and stays there while i keep the key pressed. after releasing the key, the sample continues playing to it’s endpoint. to be honest, i didn’t dig deep enough yet, to find out, if that’s possible in wave cloud. if not though, it would b nice to have.
of course to round things up, it also would be cool to have this multisampler option of playing different samples on different keyboard areas, but maybe that gets gets too demanding on the cpu.

Hi Stephen. We are currently looking into the idea of having multiple WaveGlide's which would make much more varied and complex sounds. Currently the envelopes do play until the release phase when a key is released if a loop is set.

Picked this one up in the sales, this app is very good. I hope you can expose some more AUv3 parameters in coming updates. Especially grain position would be useful to have for graphical automation.

I am working on adding more automation to the next version as well as a much enhanced WaveGlide feature allowing multiple simultanious nodes which is gonna be awesome.

Been enjoying this a lot since the release. (with and without paulstretched audio). Only wish if we could put just the oscillator or granular to drone at certain fixed pitch (no keytrack + local sustain..) while playing the other oscillator. but NBD,.. Looking forward to more videos..

Paul, does this app work with external usb midi keyboard?

I read everywhere that all your synths do, so I went ahead and purchased the plugin and I managed to sequence it from my torso t1. May I suggest a feature? It would be great to move the Position by touching the waveform. Makes the live peformance very intuitive.

@@manokovacs. When in standalone mode it connects to all MIDI sources. If you are using Bluetooth you need to press the MIDI button and pair with your MIDI device. When used as a plugin it will work as long as it is connected via the host.
