Radiata Stories - PS2. So overlooked there isn't even a single long retrospective video about it on YT. Which is a mind blowing thing as nearly every game has at least one multi-hour video. Three RPGs I haven't heard of, nice!
Love your videos Erick but also hate them because You always find some games I wanna play and make my backlog grow lol Keep up the amazing vids though love watching them!
I stopped watching his videos because I'd always find something I'd want to buy. Fortunately this time half the stuff is on this list is digital or retro (Wild Arms 4 PAL is, as mentioned, stupidly expensive for a PS2 game and importing American SNES games is barely any better). Unfortunately, Dusk Divers...
Bahamut Lagoon is definitely deserving of being on here. What an incredible surprise it was when I played the first translation years ago. I need to play it with the newer translation and maybe a difficulty mod if I can find one. I'm replaying Lost Odyssey right now and it is another overlooked RPG, but a must for JRPG fans; I forgot how well done that game is.
nice to see shiren get a mention got into this series myself this year with Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island its such a hidden gem
Every time I see someone asking about recommendations I bring up Megaman X: Command Mission. The amount of people who love turn based RPGs who were looking for games during that point in time who never heard of it somehow is too damn high. It was on two systems too. Sure there were a ton of other games to choose from on the PS2 at the time but not really on the Gamecube. Sure the Gamecube had some heavy hitters but those were games looked on as heavy hitters in hindsight and were overlooked at first themselves. The others I always bring up are: Lost Sphear. MS Saga: A New Dawn. Yu Gi Oh: The Falsebound Kingdom. Arc the Lad: Twilight of the Spirits. Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor: Overclocked and 2: Record Breaker. Seven Pirates H. Yu Yu Hakusho: Tournament Tactics. Bleach: The 3rd Phantom. Jean D'Arc. Still needs some hype. So ten to match your ten without using one of my normal go tos in Megaman X: Command Mission. But ultimately what bothered me the most about Command Mission being overlooked was that even Capcom overlooks it. When that questionnaire was going around from Capcom earlier this year they mentioned their RPG series it was only Breath of Fire and Megaman Legends. I mentioned Command Mission a few times when I had a chance to type something in. There was not a single mention of it anywhere by them which was such a shame. They brought up so many old games and series but not that one from one of their most recognizable series. At least the entire world showed them that we remember Breath of Fire. For a series that hasn't had a real updated since the PS2, it certainly made it high up on the rankings.
Seven pirates H 💀 ngl wish it was on steam I refuse to by 3rd parties on switch since most run like shit on it. But damn mad respect for yugioh falsebound kingdom, I loved it as a kid even tho I sucked at it. I love when popular ip's get spin offs that take a chance with different style gameplay.
Finally a mention of Megaman X Command MIssion. This was one of the first games I emulated on the PS2 emulator. I found it to be a good game. I think it was not that well received because the fighting system is limited, but I prefer it that way because it is not convoluted. I still play it on emulation because upscaling the graphics makes the game look incredible due to the cel shading. I recommend playing the Gamecube version as it is 60 FPS, PS2 is 30 FPS.
I'm going to go with Rise of the Third Power. Extremely well-rounded RPG that seriously gets overlooked because it it's contemporaries. Also, Falcom is pretty much confirming the release of a Trails of the Sky trilogy remake already bra.
I enjoyed that one and the earlier title that stuido released, Ara Fell. Really would love to see more from them but they are a very small studio so sadly it will be awhile before they have something else to release.
Always love watching all your recommendation list game. You know what kind of list you should do too? these days those cheap chinese retro emulation device (Miyoo Mini, RG35XX, whatever) You should give some good recommendation on this kind of device. They are generally have small screen so just no game with small text or stuff like that. Always love your humor and niche jrpg video lol
I remember when I was a kid I played on a emulator Bahamut Lagoon, I couldn't advance much but I was fascinated by the fact that the dragons are part of the team, it really deserves at least an Octopath Traveler style remaster. Regarding atelier sophie 2, I'm just starting the first one and I'm liking it so far, so I'm looking forward to the second installment!
Sky 3rd isn't an overlooked game for people who started the first one simply to understand the whole story of this series, but yeah, this game was my favourite of the Sky triology for being fastpaced as a dungeon crawler but also offering more than enough of lore and playable character cast. An amazing game overall!
I found one about pop idols who are also magical girls it looks good actually and the story they showed in the trailer was neet I seen it in ps5s games catalog
During the segment about Frontier Hunter you say that you won't say who the third playable character is because it's a spoiler, but then later on in the segment you show a bit of gameplay that includes that character.
I loved bahamute lagoon one of the few games i finished more than once, plus depending On the item you Fed them the evoled and the group atached to that dragon had their skills upgraded/changed , and the Phoenix class for the fire class dragon is broken you just let it loose at enemies and watch them die with youre dragon coming unscratch man i love this game
My friend, I advise you to try an underrated game, although its story and world are very interesting and it also has a good gameplay. The game is Azure Saga: Pathfinder
I saw the trailer to frontier hunter the first day it drop on ps5. and decide to buy it. It has been great, combat is fun, story has some fun and man the boss fight do start to climb in difficult where food is extra helpful. Also, you talk about not spoiler of the third character but she is in the thumbnail 😂
Seen frontier game on a cheaper price. Almost got it but passed while I was playing other games. Dustover I have first game but never really played it.
I would really like to play the Atelier games but there are a bunch and I dont know which one to start with (and any time I ask around or google it up I dont get any satisfying answers).
Surprised to see you praise Soul Blazer after all the frustration streaming it caused you. Most of the bosses are brutal, a tradition that Illusion of Gaia continues.
Sky 3 may soon cease to be steam exclusive. Ive seen a lot of evidence of sky remasters being planned. Though honestly my feith came from the fact that remake of the ys 3 remake is being localized.
Do yourself a favor and play the PS4 version of Sophie 2 on PS5, its much more polished and a lot less blurry than the switch version, plus it runs at a stable 60fps while the switch version at 30fps, its a night and day difference, for me its the difference between just playing through the main story vs getting 100% completion, i find it much easier to play games when the performance is actually decent, poor performance can completely ruin the experience, its always better to play on a high end PC but most ppl don't have access to high end PCs so its understandable
Hmm your lists mostly focus on 90s games super old maybe say "overlooked games from 20 years ago" and make another "overlooked modern games" as separate videos
For me, Wild Arms 4 was the last Great Wild Arms game in the series, a coming of age adventure facing the imperfect outcomes of their world. Wild Arms 5 though the art and music direction were great, I felt that the writing and character developments were the weakest in the series. Wild Arms 5 was also the last game before the general interest in the series died off and I do believe the weak story has a hand in it.
did this guy really just say that command mission, and 'any' atelier game is overlooked? what? command mission is stupidly popular as a very solid jrpg for its system. and all the atelier are popular for the people who follow the genre. they are about as overlooked as an elephant in akitchen

Trails in the Sky 3 is also on GOG 😉
Pretty sure all of Falcom's PC games are and some are on Epic

Yea, but indie so who cares?
Nice to see Soul blazer on the list. One of my favorite games on the snes.
Love Dusk Diver, and happy to see it mentioned here. I do have the 2nd one as well, although I haven't gotten around to playing it yet.

Another educational video. Radiata Stories is definitely a must play, especially if you liked Valkyrie Profile 2...
Looking fresh on cam with the new lighting.

Yeah you're not wrong I haven't heard of any of these bar trails in the sky 3
When my phone has volume to 100% and I start a video from your channel: « HEY GUYS » * walls shake, baby cries*

Muchas gracias por las recomendaciones. Siempre me haces endeudar con estas joyas hahahaha
My friend, I advise you to try an underrated game, although its story and world are very interesting and it also has a good gameplay.
The game is Azure Saga: Pathfinder
He played it before I believe, it's kinda generic and boring in my opinion
Brandish is so overlooked that Nihon Falcom doesn't want to make a new one
Brandish 4 is great
Is there really a PS4 version of Grand Guilds? Can't find anything.
Radiata Stories and Gran Stream Saga are both criminally underrated\
The summon night swordcraft story games should be here.
I've always seen Dusk Diver as a sort of Musou/Warriors game.
I saw the trailer to frontier hunter the first day it drop on ps5. and decide to buy it. Most of them stand on their own. I would say start with any recent game as long as there isn't a 2 or 3 in the title.
There was a rerelease of the original I think, you could always just start there. That's the easiest choice when you don't know what to do.
Also, its more of a platformer but Light Crusader deserves a mention.
Cool. Haven't seen a lot of these before!
Dusk Diver is a bit rough but fun to play. Unlike the second game that looks better but plays worse.
kingdom hearts chain of memories was inspired by trails in the sky the 3rd, i'm sure of it
There are so many great Metroidvanias
Surprised to see you praise Soul Blazer after all the frustration streaming it caused you. Most of the bosses are brutal, a tradition that Illusion of Gaia continues.
Sometimes frustrating games can be good. The whole NES Hard and soulslike thing appeals to people, not me usually though lol
@@Vulpas Funny how it goes in cycles. I believe there's room for both hardcore and casual games.
@@WhiteFangofWar Yeah, I definitely agree.
IMO, Phantasy Star IV on the Genesis is incredibly overlooked compared to Chrono Trigger and Final Fantasy 6 on the SNES.

Actually you dont need to play the first atelier sophie. In the sequel there is mini movie/cutscene that explain the main story of atelier sophie 1.
Hmmmm. Can’t find Grand Guilds on the PSN store. I guess it got pulled off of it.
Time stamps pls
Psvita mentioned😊
I recommend NTR Lagoon as well, it's a great NTR game.
Lmao
NTR??! What console can I play this game?
@@soratheorangejuicemascot5809 Bahamut Lagoon has the love interest seduced by another dude.
Megaman Command Mission is really cool, I only think it is a little repetitive
