- Matt is out on a solo duck hunt in some thick fog. He sets up on a small ice hole, not sure what to expect. It isn't long after sunrise that mallards descend upon his set and Matt limits out in short order. This is what duck hunting dreams are made of! An amazing duck hunt as the season comes to a close.

It was mesmerizing to watch those big flocks circling endlessly, making your heart beating fast. Big push from cold front. Awesome day.

Just wanted to say that you are a great steward for duck hunting. Many duck hunters myself included would have a hard time passing at shooting into that flock. You practice what you preach man and I for one appreciate it!

Well, you're a true duck hunting special individual, not only because you seem to like so much hunt solo, and so low key ! Modest spread, an efficient way to "recycle" sleepers on the ice, small report in the fog of your shot, IC with bismuth in 28 ga! You guys are though on your part of your state! Taking the most opportunities of weather and what a show that was! Nice to feel the joy in your voice, thanks for letting us be with you in your blind! Take care. Those spinner decoys are crazy. I remember the first time using one what a difference it makes bringing birds in. They get sucked in. Nice shooting. Good eats with the mallards!

Amazing hunt! I went out on the same day you filmed this. Except I only saw two ducks, and got them both! I can’t and won’t complain about any hunt where I am not skunked…yet gosh it would be cool to have seen all those birds! Thanks for posting another good video.

What a crazy first group of birds. We hunted down here in Texas on the 4th as well. Couldn’t see 10 yards on boat ride from fog. Still shot our 3 man limit. Just gadwall wigeon and teal. Hopefully mallards push with this cold front. Great video as always

Man those mallards have such good fat when you take the extra time to trim it out and render it down! So good. Such an awesome hunt we ended up finishing our last couple day on public walkin and shot 13 limits of mostly teal it was crazy.

No use educating more than necessary
Cloudy days are the only days you should run spinners. Most people think late season means no spinner, so nobody runs them. Run em late season on cloudy days and you'll have an upper hand, and they work 9 out of 10 times.
I've had the opposite experience. They usually flare off them on cloudy days, unless it's foggy/snowing. Sunny and windy days are best in my opinion.

Just bought a benelli ethos in 28 gauge! How do you like yours? Definitely the new most expensive gun, but I love it. Plan to use it on everything but geese, I heard you use 2 3/4 boss shells for ducks? Where I hunt the shots are close, so if you recommend those that is what I’ll probably end up using for ducks. Great video as always!

That's awesome you hunt with a 28 gauge. Far and away my favorite quail gun. I'm sure people ask you a lot, but what choke and ammo are you using? Looks like it works great. I am hooked on watching your videos right now. I really enjoy the shot kam clips.

Why use the flasher if they are coming so cleanly, i think you would have more land if it wasn't out
In my experience, it helps draw them in in thick fog like I was hunting.

I do agree with that, but I use the remotes from lucky duck to stop them once they are close. I think it helps them finish better.
But thats just what I've noticed in my flyaway.
