An additional fun fact about this theme is that it's unique to the Replicant Remake. This little segment of the game was previously a short story that didn't make it into the original, so this song & all its motifs were newly composed for it.

Another fun fact, at 2:14 and 3:55 you can hear the ffxiv heavenward motif as well. This game came out at a time where they were having a collab so they both had music call backs to each other.

What I really like about the Chaos language is the confidence with which it is sounded. The utterer does not betray an arbitrary origin. Every word seems to be something defined, with real etymology. But it isn't. It just sounds real (not to mention good) and that's all it needs to do for the external listener.

Indeed. It really hammers home the immersion of the story, because chaos language was invented to reflect what our languages could evolve into thousands of years later, as part of a lore friendly relevance, as the games take place in the distant future. All things inevitably change.

Interesting that this version of the track was linked, it's a mix out of the first/original segment called Fleeting Words - Family and the second segment with the choir elements, called Fleeting Words - Outsider, originally featuring the dynamic percussion you heard at the end. Wonderful track!

@@mr.stuffdoer8483 It was uploaded by Square, but that's because that specific track isn't part of the OST, it's from the Weiss Edition Soundtrack Album, which exclusively features Edits and Arrangements that aren't in the game. ^^

Oh god this is embarrasing I just found out you actually listened to my request NOW 🤣
I specifically wanted you to hear this version here (which is an official release by square enix on youtube) because it's kind of a medley of all the versions in-game.
Like you said, the game has dynamic soundtrack, so you can expect to hear this particular track in different variations. There are a couple in particular that are almost exclusive to in-game cutscenes or simmilar, but I absolutely adore how they mixed them together in this medley, where it flows from soft and heartfelt to strong and painful and then to a more battle-oriented tease at the end.
I'm glad you eventually got to hear it for yourself and I hope you enjoy the game!

Most likely won't due to it still being very aged as a game and overall just has "less" to it.
Here's how I'd put it. If sad things effect you more, you'll prefer replicants story.
If you prefer philosophy and depressing things, automatas story will affect you more.
Automatas combat, side missions, world design, and dynamic soundtrack (replicants isn't dynamic) are all objectively better (not saying the music is better, that's subjective, just saying it's better integrated into the game).
Automata is more polished and finished, more complete and concise. But I'd say replicant is very charming. It's clearly an older Game, which adds charm for old times sake, but also has charm for being a simpler, earlier stage version of automata and how it's made.
Like the camera perspective changes. There's way less in replicant and they aren't as smooth and seamless, but it's really cute and cool to see what's basically a beta test for automatas more complex camera work. Not saying replicant is just a beta test for automata. But it's definitely a an earlier stage in the franchises evolution mechanically.

No.... original replicant on ps3 is much better and ha smore context that was erased from Gestalt.
The story is a bout a boy becoming a father figure and growing into a man.
Gestalt completely erases that.

If Gestalt was the wisest choice, it would have sold more copies. The Replicant remake/remaster doubled the sales of the original in like a month because the game was more polished and more enjoyable to play compared to the original.

@@jonahbrown5669 sells are not necessarily a criteria. Gestalt was overlooked for many reasons (bad ones). Without nier automata, Replicant remaster would be nowhere near its success now.
