I remember when I was in 6 grade, grinding in slime tree and making friends. Now I'm a Junior in college. I still remember this game like it was yesterday.
I miss this song so much ... when I was back in 2007 as a 7 yr old... I was still happily farming slimes .. killing mushrooms at the west map of henesys ( where it is a double map , able to climb up to a rope ) .... Chatting with people .. doing quests together... Now , everythings changed ... so less people playing ... always soloing ... so less friends and friendly players to chat with anymore :(
When I'm on my death bed, surrounded by the tearful faces of the people I loved in life, and I close my eyes, smiling, as I comfortably drift off into the endless starry sky, I hope this song in playing the whole time.
man this was amazing. back when maple stroy beta phase was over and the game went live. these days were so exciting. An absolutely adventurous game with a peaceful soundtrack. Great memories! :)

Maple isn't the same as it used to be. This song made me sad, remembering the days i spent leveling my favorite job at the Ellinia Forest dungeon on my own listening to this great sound track. ):
I remember my first encounter with the slime tree.... my friend showed it me once, then when i tried to get back I couldn't figure out which tree it was. haha good times this one has always been my favorite, and every time I go back on maple every once in a while, I go straight to the slime tree to make sure i never forget.

Thanks for not blowing up at me and I'm glad you had a good time while the older version was still around, I hope one day they'll change it (no matter how unlikely that is) back to the old version so awesome people like you can enjoy it again. I just love the game for what it is and if that means changing it back to the older version once more so everyone can enjoy it again, thats fine with me :)
This video reminds me of 2 things: 1. The awesome game to play as a 10 year old in 2006-8 2. How pixelated the videos were back in youtube when every amateur used Windows Movie Maker as if they were in hollywood. Today: The best game would probably be WoW in the MMORPG area, which is quite sad, and everybody and their mother pirates Sony Vegas and Adobe Premiere, with widescreen 1080p capability.
I have played maple since the beginning, remember when they just gave you the controls and said 'have fun'? its all been going downhill since pirates came along, and Big Bang was the last straw. i dont play anymore, because every time i did, it ruined my memory of a better maple. The slime cave! My friend and me did a lot of quests and (although it might sound lame) we were so good at doing those lvl 10-15 quests efficiently. We always entered this cave with the intention t collect slime bubbles and squishy liquid. But we always stayed there for so long just because of the AMAZING spawn rate.
I don't remember a whole lot about this game, but it will always be apart of me. And i wish i was older when i was playing so i could truely take in this game, i could've done so much more

Maybe its just me but....I really like Maplestory now...maybe just because I joined a year ago but I really enjoy it. It fun and the opportunities they give you are awesome too. Maybe its just a matter of opinion but I really like it.
yes i agree; indeed nostalgic... I miss the old-humble-classy MapleStory back. when everyone was below lev 30 except a few "pro"s. That was like 9 years ago(I don't know if they had MapleStory in US 9 years ago but they did in Korea). But hey, we can still bring the memory back. I'm especially attatched to this song by the way cause I was a magician lol. I remember falling in the town and dying and losing experience. It was tragic... good memories :)

Maple story died at version 0.26. The game was fun, the community great, the places, epic. What happened, the community died. NX gear mattered. The game I played pre 0.26, was the game i will forever cherish
I remember when my first every character finally made it to Vic Island. I go literally two maps outside of Lith Harbour and some guy was offering to help me out. He was only like lvl 30 I think, but I thought he was so pro. Those are the kind of friends you can't make on Maple these days.
I doubt that's gonna happen. Even if it does, it will be unlikely for them to introduce new contents (new classic-esque contents like maps and music that only Nexon and Wizet can pull off) that sets them apart from the already existing nostalgic private servers.

Maplestory was (and still KINDA is) the last of the games where people had respect for the new people! I was lost in ludibrium (While I was lvl 9) until a level 126 came by and saw me getting surrounded by teddies. He quickly traded me a return scroll and added me. I tried to pay him back with mesos and he's never accepted it. Habbo isn't like that. No one gives the "Noobs/Norms" furniture or any help. Everyone judges you on whether or not you have some special "club" or membership on the game..
lol once i went here on my level 56 cleric and i fell asleep so ive been on maplestory for 12 hours and i died from green mushrooms. its a very good song i tell you!

The old Maple Story was much more fun compared to the new one. Although it's harder to level up, but it all truely depended on ourselves. But now...
