I did have to take a small pay cut with the CDI position, but as you stated it’s well worth it!

Hi Nurse David. I really enjoy the honesty in your videos about NI. I have contemplated NI for a few years now. Wondering if you can help answer this question: Is there a high demand for NI? I don't want to go back to school for a MSN in NI only to graduate and not find NI jobs.
As far as I know, government jobs pay less than any contracting jobs. If you want job security then go for government jobs. If you want to make more money then contracting job is the way to go.
Hey David, loved the transparency in this video, it was very much appreciated. I was wondering if you can make a video regarding the interview part. What questions do they ask? Are they technologically questions? How can someone with just a BSN stand out at an interview? Thank you.
Also, is a masters in informatics necessary? for example, there are informatics certificates for nurses who already hold a BSN. What are your thoughts?
Hi David, I am in this position that Im soo exhausted, I have no energy anymore with my night shift job as a bedside nurse. This pandemic brought nursing to a different level. And I am scared that i stay more years in bedside my salary will be way up there and won’t be able to settle to the entry level salary in NI. :)
Yay congrats! The thing is, is that you do not need a masters. I think your on the right track! Don't get discouraged if you don't get the first position you apply to either because it can be competitive, hang in there! Also let me know if you get an interview!
@@DabidRobinson i will let u know! :) i first applied in the system where im working now there’s a job posting. Is it harder for me to land a position because I don’t have the masters?

Search: analyst, informatics, health informatics, nursing informatics, clinical support analyst, clinical informatics. Those are all the ones I can think of off the top of my head 😅 keep me posted!
Hey David! Do you think one year of bedside experience in the ICU is enough experience for Nursing Informatics? Also, the college I want to go to doesn't have any Nursing Informatics programs, but they do offer a Masters in Healthcare Informatics. I know it varies, but from your experience, do you think it would still be a good option to pursue the general Healthcare Informatics?
I spoke with my informatics team and they told me that if they could go back they would do healthcare informatics as it opens more opportunities. But my college also doesn’t offer just nursing informatics but they do offer healthcare management and informatics masters which I’m hopeful is a good choice and my anxiety has gone down as all the people I spoke to say that it will as it’s kinda 2 degrees in 1.
