Hi, I’m May Hirata from Japan. I’m a big fan of your channel “One Small Step”and I think it’s amazing, very helpful and something more people should know. So I’d love to share and spread this useful information to Japanese people. In order to do that, I was wondering if I could add Japanese subtitles to your videos. I know it’s not easy to trust a stranger like me, but I’ll do my best if you let me try. Your videos are definitely worth sharing around the world!! Im looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you.
Hi! I hope you decide to email them about this. Having Japanese subtitles would be great & I think there are ways to make it happen. I've also heard of people writing out the subtitles with the time codes & emailing it in so the channel can update the video themselves.
Important note: when you put the tablets in the bottles, DO NOT CLOSE THE LIDS while it is dissolving. It says so in the instructions. Blueland is awesome! Been using them for years♡
Here in Japan almost all liquid cleaning and hygiene products have refills but they still come in plastic packaging. I’ve been using the same shampoo, conditioner and body soap bottles for 5 years. I wish these tablet types become popular here too 😁
I bought the hand soaps. It took 50 minutes for the tablets to dissolve. My sons used a whole bottle in 3 weeks vs 8 weeks of other soaps. And the other bottle pump broke in 2 weeks, but they are giving me a free replacement. Just my experience. But still plan to use them.
I was interested after watching and took a look at the ingredients in their soaps, and their dish soap in particular has Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, made from crude petroleum oil and palm oil. To market that product as an environmentally conscious alternative is pretty misleading to people who genuinely care about ecological collapse. Also, marketing how Tritan is a BPA-free plastic but not mentioning that it carries BHPF, which causes identical health complications, is rich.
@@legendofrandomness2522 Umm yes there are tons of better ideas. Just buy a durable polypropylene spray bottle at the store, use any number of other surfactants that don't require palm oil.
There is absolutely *no* evidence that the BPA, or BHPF present in *detergent bottles* poses close to any risk for the users/environment whatsoever. But I guess if a company goes into that territory by claiming it's BPA-free, it's fair game to criticize them.
@@ritac9769 It doesn't necessarily require fossil fuels, but it *can* be made with their use. First you need lauryl alcohol - you can get that from either palm kernel oil (not the same as palm oil, so I'm not sure what the env impact of that is), or coconut oil. Then you process it further, but there's really a ton of different ways to do that. From what I checked, Blueland does openly admit that they use synthetic ingredients in other products - and the SLS in the ingredient list of the dish soap is listed as "Naturally derived" - so I see no reason not to believe them.
I heard about Blueland from another youtuber, Shelbizleee, and bought the basic kit about a month ago. So glad to see other people talking about it too!! I LOVE the products, they work well, the bottles are extremely durable and lovely and the hand soap leaves my hands feeling so soft & clean :) Highly recommend!!
I support this concept. Also to add this concept: frozen juice concentrate instead of buying the 2L juice from concentrate in plastic bottles. Cheaper and less wasteful.
I love the Blueland Powder Dish Soap. Lasts a long time and while I’m paying so much more, the packs go oooon and on. I don’t know when I need to buy dish soap again. Very happy with my products.
I actually tried these after watching this video with mixed results. I love the hand soap and the dish washer tablets . Not so much the glass cleaner. You can make a greener and better version just using vinegar and water.
Hope to see your tablets in the stores soon. Huge fan on your cleaners and soaps. Going to make the move for our laundry and dish soap once we finish what we got.
Hi I am Nick, Watch your channel. Ok so I heard about Blue Land from another UA-camr. So I just got my starter kit. I did get the new bottles, so they look solid. The spray handle could be a little more robust. I can see that they could break easy. But if you are gentle, the spray does spray and far. I did use the Multi Surface and Bathroom Cleaner. And... They work. so far I am impressed. I can see why they did not go with glass. I think because they are a tall bottle they could tip over and break. So I did a lot of research on why it takes forever for the tab to dissolve. Mine dissolved in less than 6 mins. So far I dissolved the Glass Cleaner, Multi Surface, and Bathroom Cleaner. What I did, I took a mason jar filled it with warm water and put it in the microwave for 2 minutes. Then I filled a bottle with the water and put the tab in. it dissolved in under 6 minutes. Keep bottles open till the water temp decreases to a slightly warm to cool. Then put the spray tops on. I am sharing this because I seen peoples reviews that the tabs dissolve time is too high. With my method it really took less than 6 mins. Hope this helps. After watching your channel, I really like the message you are sending out there. We all have to work together and take "One Small Step". You have shown me personally, that I don't have to drastically change the way I clean, eat, drink, etc. My take away from your channel is that I can make a small difference in just slightly changing the way I purchase things. Water, I do not buy water in plastic containers anymore. I have a Brita water system in my fridge and I refill my re usable Yeti. Keeps the water cold for hours and there is no waste. And now Blue Land, I am again taking that "One Small Step" to eco friendly cleaner that does work and not having to throw away toxic one use cleaners. Thank you, Nick
I also love using seventh generation laundry soap and they now have done a more compact small container that is concentrated and you just flip it over and it squirts and per squrit is a laundry load. Awesome lightweight easier to buy easier to use than large bulky packaging
Okay I need to check in to this. Yes my recycling company opened back up, but I still want to try to reduce my waste even more. I'm wondering if they make a version for floor cleaners
I LIKE this! Grove you may be loosing a customer. I like the Seventh Generation products, but it all comes in plastic bottles with water. I am going to have to check this Blue Land out.
Has this cleaning solution been tested at Consumer Reports? I’d be interested in seeing how the solution compares, how effective is it in eradicating viruses on surfaces?
5:30 If you can smell it, you are also inhaling those same chemicals.... better to spray onto a cloth (not directly at the surface) so you don't create much aerosol... you can't control exactly where the spray goes if you spray at the surface...
I was looking for a solution to all the waste I have been consuming and this is a nice way to start! Up next: quality clothing detergent that doesn't weights a ton??
I was very excited when I found out about this company. Unfortunately I don’t think it’s inclusive to people with hypoallergenic sensitivity’s. At the time I purchased multiple cleaning tablets and only the dishwasher tablet was unscented, I could smell the hand soap on my hands for hours after I washed them and I got a serious migraine as a result. I could smell the other cleaning tablets from the box as well and the scents were extremely overwhelming. Hopefully in the future they might be able to tone down the smell of their products. If you are sensitive to smells like me I would think twice before buying.
I would love if companies would eliminate fragrance from products. They are unnecessary cause breathing problems to migraines. I have narrowed downy cleaning supplies to a few trusted products. I rarely explore outside of them anymore for this reason
I’ve had the same problem with any kind of products because of my daughters allergies. I used to buy all the organic stuff, that cost a ton on money. Now i mix my own products with basic ingredients like soda, basic unscentet soap, citric acid etc., there are many recipes online. Last year I started to do my laundry with grounded chestnuts - it works fine for ‚everyday‘ dirty laundry and it cost me only an afternoons work to peal, chop and dry them. I also find that I don‘t need many diverse cleaning implements, plain water alone can do much already….
So far I've liked their products. The only thing for anyone considering purchasing is that I want to mention I dont like their machine dishwasher tablets because they leave a thick residue on the dishes even after an extra rinse cycle. I've loved all of the other products I've tried so far. Has anyone out there had good luck with the dishwasher tabs?
Check out dropps I do not have a dishwasher In my apartment but when I move I will be purchasing theirs. All the reviews and UA-cam reviews are amazing
It doesn’t fit everyone’s lifestyle, Blueland is making convenience easier to an every day consumer that is lazy and doesn’t want to do the work themselves. But yes, bar soap does exist.
@@mokujin4076 not all of them. But still its less plastic than a body wash bottle. Liquid takes more space than solids. So more liquid soap is used compared to a bar soap.
Lucy, I love and appreciate your recommendation for the reuse of single-use plastic containers that already exist for small refills. As you said, we don't need to buy new fancy reusable plastic bottles to reduce plastic usage. I use citric acid, baking soda, and sodium percarbonate, and they work very well as a home cleaner. One question. Do you know a better way to wash my hair without buying new shampoo in a plastic bottle? I am running out of shampoo but I don't want to buy a new bottle of shampoo.
Love all blueland product and they are very responsive to feedback. Their dish soap powder started to be too fine and easy to inhale, but then after a series of feedback, they modified it so that the powder no longer floats in the air, and it honestly is my favorite thing so far. I don’t get their bottle, only use the existing bottle I have from previous products.
There is a similar company here in India called Mr. Magic which does the same but with handwash. And it's like 3 years old. Atleast that's what I think. But the point is that when your handwash runs out then you could just simply open the refill pack which contains handwash in powder form, put it in the old container and mix it with water and you'll have a filled handwash bottle. It's less wasteful and convenient and very cheap.
I live in finland, and atleast we have had all kind of different tablet options for a long long time. I bet there are some options where you live to! :)
I wonder if the bathroom one has sodium hypochlorite, aka bleach and if it can be used in the kitchen as well. Also is the solution stable enough to still be effective months later (it takes me a while to use up a bottle). Does the multi surface one also disinfectant? I'm use to using Clorox multi purpose spray so I'm wondering.
This is something that I would be interested in, however my other half can’t get his mind away from smelly chemicals and paper towels. I just got him to start using a hand towel instead of paper towels for hand drying. Going green can be such a struggle if the household doesn’t agree 😕
