I think you need to bribe Masalia at all costs, and try to get a lasting peace with them. Those doom stacks will steamroll you right now, and masalia is a tough opponent for Rome. Take any action that makes them like you more, and pay them. The situation in Cisalpine Gaul is not ready for a war with Masalia. Otherwise, I think you’re doing very well, but don’t forget that you will very soon have secessionists to deal with. Also, consider that a legion fortified just outside a settlement can be even more effective than one within the settlement, while causing fewer public order problems
I think a fort outside the settlement is a good call, should play around with that more! The bribe was taken haha, we really do need to worry about secession though..
I would suggest to abandon Cisalpine Gaul let your enemy take the settlements and then recapture them and liberate them instead of conquest that will give you allies in the north that will be buffer states against any barbarian invasions and you need to start focusing of attacking Epirus and eliminating him ASAP since the war with Carthage is near and you will get your face caved in if you are not prepared.
I think the peace with Massalia gives us a reason to stay now, what do you think? Abandoning Cisalpine Gaul will just get us more enemies to fight and will push the frontlines into Latium, destabilising the region and allowing a host of other problems to flood in. What do you think?
@@yourfirstspear Well, if yoiu liberate instead of conquering the province you will get an automatic alliance with whomever you've liberated, that's how the liberate mechanic works, which then gives you breathing room to deal with Epirus and Carthage, that's what I did in my campaigne ,it's turn 150 for me and I have a lot of allies in the north that fight my wars as I conquer Iberia, since Carthage is finish and I conquered Africa, maybe I will upload a Let's Play of this tactic.
@@olympusentertainment2638 You are absolutely right! I tried that in the previous run, liberated the Histri who in turn became on of the most annoying factions out there after about 15 turns haha! My experience is that on Legendary difficulty you will be stabbed in the back very quickly.. BUT; I really like the way you think my friend! Do keep it coming, I need every brilliant mind I can get surviving this beautiful let's play haha!
Hello my friend. It's too late to give advice but; In DEI mode you need to keep the armies out of the cities. Armies disrupt public order and trigger rebellions. I hope you make a similar series again, I'll stick with this until it comes, have fun
Hi. Coming here 9 months after the fact, but I am enjoying this series a lot. I just started playing DEI for the first time. It's fun and difficult. Gotta say though, these videos are pretty blurry and have lag and glitches. Looks like the bitrate for the recording was far too low? Maybe you've upgraded your computer and changed the quality in the time since recording. :)
Yeah i think the blurryness has something to do with the fact that i am gamestreaming, i tried fiddling with the settings but i feel like i just don’t have the bandwidth, high time for an upgrade but it’s not available yet at the moment.. very annoying, hope they fix that around this place soon haha
@@yourfirstspear Oh okay. Gamestreaming, as in renting a PC over the internet instead of having one yourself? Are you able to use mods in that case? I've got those campaign clouds turned off in my game, they were so distracting. :D
Late here, but wow, I'm glad I found your playthrough! Really enjoying your energy, keep it up! :)
Welcome my friend! Haha
Me too, really enjoy his style
I’m very interested to see how you handle this! I don’t think I have ever seen anyone in a tight situation like this
It was challenging, honestly I think we lucked out as well

Loving the series!! I'm new to Divide et Impera and total war in general, but you're playthrough is really helpful! Loving the series
Glad to be of help! Enjoy the series my friend haha!
Autoresolve "not being accurate" note: This is what legendary gets you. Overbuffed levies, that can go 1v1 against troops 2 tiers higher.
true haha
Just discovered your content, you have a new sub!

Hello there! Good tip, thanks! I’ll probably start up Carthage soon, see you there haha!
@@yourfirstspear Wonderful news : ) I was looking for the Carthage series, but they are all too old.
No man, Celts don't have legions, never had even.
