My Dad bought a new Ford F5 V8 in1948. When he loaded it up the first time, it over heated. He took it back to the dealer and after trying several things, the dealer was unsuccessful in fixing the problem. Ford sent a factory rep to look at it and they decided to replace the engine. The new engine overheated! Ford brought in an engineer and as the group was looking at the engine, one of the dealer's quiet and very old mechanics standing at the edge asked "Shouldn't there be a shroud around the fan?" Someone at the factory failed to put a shroud on. That fixed the problem and my dad got good service from it. I noticed your wonderful old truck had no shroud. Just saying.....
