- Upper and Lower Scorpion Campgrounds are walking distance to the Gila Cliff Dwellings National Monument and are FREE FREE FREE. They are first-come only so they can fill up each night, especially during tourist season.
FYI ---- if both campgrounds are full, backtrack a few miles down Hwy 15 and look at Forks campground and Grapevine campground. Both are also free. The Gila Hot Springs campground is NOT free and reservations there are recommended.
Sapillo campground is nice, probably too close to the fire
@@johnadams7323 yes, that is exactly where they were burning.
Great video. It really helped me to see ahead as far as what I can expect on my drive up there in a few days.
Thanks, glad to help!
Beautiful area. I camped all around there with friends years ago.
Awesome! We're planning to go back in a few weeks, before it gets too hot.
Great video! Adding to our list... thanks!
Glad to help! Thanks for watching.
Hi guys, you might know by now but highway 35 is a little easier. I love the area, good luck and safe travels 👍
Yes, it was a bit easier but still a bit crazy....plus Dylan is great traveling except on those types of roads. He gets nervous, doesn't bark or whine, just won't lay down and relax like he normally does on trips. Plus they were doing that controlled burn along the road around Lake Roberts so lots of smoke which bothers him, even with the windows up. Anyhow, thanks for watching! More to come.
