    Niall - As usual really good article on AD Viewer, I have just found viewer and have it loaded to my iPAD and it works perfectly was going to take it to visit a private client this morning but they cancelled at 6.30am by email baby problems. So now I know I can send them this and will put a walkthrough or the proposed new dwelling. Cheers oh great one😂

    Nice Presentation; My only gripe is that you cannot measure anything correctly; i.e. ortho ; it keeps snapping to odd locations....to review something you need to be able to snap to planes...This might be ok for student work but it needs a lot more development for interaction between disciplines.
    Really enjoyed the explanation. Great work

      Thanks for the feedback Keith.
      Yeah I agree, it can be very finicky to catch a perpendicular edge/face for dims to be as accurate as possible. Glad you found it generally informative Keith.

    Thank you for the review, it's much more helpful that the presentation from Autodesk.
    I have a question, maybe you can help - is it possible to have multiple 3D views? My Revit model has several 3D views set up, but when I upload the file to the Viewer, I see only one 3D View. Thanks!

    • @8020BIM
      @8020BIM  3 роки тому

      Hi Vedran - apologies about the slow response, only saw your question now. In Revit 2021 you can publish "Shared Views" from Revit for numerous 3D Views, but they may be independent links. In Revit 2022 they also added 2D Shared Views for Sheets and standard views also. Hope this helps!

    Great video. Thanks. How do you let a client use the viewer. I'm not sure I feel comfortable allowing a client access to my autodesk account unless I can control what they have access to.

    • @8020BIM
      @8020BIM  3 роки тому

      Hi Glenn. The client has to create an account (free) and then you merely email them a link to the file from the share dialogue within the model - this means they only have access to view the model which you sent them. Hope this gives some clarity for you.

    Does this work with BIM 360 projects? Lets say you are invited to a BIM 360 project but you don't have a BIM 360 license. Can you view the BIM 360 model with this viewer?

    Is there an UNDO to revert back to a certain view?

    Thanks for sharing such a useful guide. if I may add a comment on your comment on the Explode View. I think it is made for mechanical design. In mechanical design, exploding a machine is really useful. Not so much in architecture, where the elements are usually planar. In mech design you have a lot of small components and exploding is the only way to see how they fit together. Regards Jose

      You are completely correct Jose. Funnily enough I only thought of the same point shortly after the video was posted. Seems was thinking too linearly about my own use case / profession at the time fo recording. I appreciate the kind and informative feedback.
      All the best,
      Niall

    Is the method to set up appropriate permissions for clients to access the viewer fairly straight forward. I assume they don't actually have to sign into your account

    • @8020BIM
      @8020BIM  3 роки тому

      Hi Glenn.
      Very straightforward to assign permissions. Also, as I stated in my reply to your previous comment, the client should be using their own Autodesk Login to view the models, not your account. Hope this helps!

    How to share the link with other users? through mail?

    • @aroundtheworld12345
      @aroundtheworld12345 3 роки тому

      I mean, when you create comments in the model, how you share those comments with others?

    • @8020BIM
      @8020BIM  3 роки тому

      @@aroundtheworld12345 comments should be visible to everyone who the overall model has been shared with. You can share the link to the model from the top right corner menu I believe.

      @@8020BIM I think, I don't see any option to add users email within the viewer. I am thinking, we may need to send it through mail or chat app. then he can able to access it.
