A gentleman I would LOVE to meet. Bob Gurr is a living legend.
Love Bob Gurr, met him over the summer and he is such a wonderful man, very spirited and loves to tell a good story! I always get excited when I go on the monorail- what a great attraction!
I have much respect for Disney Legends and I am thankful that we have men and women who who worked with Walt still around to help us relieve fond memories of the past.
Man....when you get on the monorail it really hits you that you are at Disney......those things are awesome.

Although the video seems to imply it, Bob Gurr did not have anything to do with the newer Mark VII monorails. He offered his help to WDI during the design phase, but was turned away. It wasn't until WDI realized there were major engineering flaws with the new trains that they finally approached him. At that point, I think it was wise for Bob to just let them work it out.
Personally, I hope Disneyland replaces the Mark VIIs soon, and builds a fourth monorail like they had when the Mark Vs were in service.

What about a video for the monorails in Walt Disney World?
The monorail has a horn? Must be to alert the random pigeons sitting on the rail.
When the monorail and train pass, they honk and ring at each other. Mostly for saying hi to people below. BUT they do have traffic and get into accidents, although very rarely.
Grover Organtone air horns at reduced pressure, the longer pair IIRC. And the pigeons know to get out of the way, the real problem is when ducks decide they're going to land on the beam - they won't move for anybody, and the drivers really don't want to make Pressed Duck. (That's Bad Show...)
