I store mine in plastic bins (not very aesthetic but it gets the job done). If you need to get bugs out of your yarn put it in the freezer for a few weeks to kill eggs so it doesn’t spread to the rest of your stash. Good luck! Edit: I’ve heard weeks but I’ve also seen 24-48 hours in my own research so maybe it depends if you know you have an infestation vs preventing an infestation. I have not had to do it so I’m not the most knowledgeable 😅
A small trick I'm currently implementing: I'm crocheting baskets out of my acrylic yarn as I won't be using it for future projects! I'm using the TL Yarn Crafts Jessie Basket as a guide for them. I'll be using them to store my finished socks, DPNs and as project baskets Maybe they'll help you as storage baskets :)
Nice stash! I would organize from top down lace down to bulky on the shelves. You could get some stiffer cardboard to block the backing of the shelves. That can be covered with some contact paper for color. Then the bottom shelf get some taller canvas totes to store the scraps and tools you need.
For you to make storage boxes using your yarn scraps as well. I plan to have a chest full of my yarn and stuff during my semester at college along with a shelf. and you can use the same color yarn scraps to match the yarn or you can use that one skein of yarn you dont know what to do with to make it even more cohesive
I have pieces of cedar wood among my yarns and even among my woollen sweaters to help bugs stay away. Also some of my yarn is in a 'bug free' plastic box, but since I got it my stash has grown and not everything fits there anymore. 😅 Also it isn't pretty or even transparent and you can't see the yarn.
Your yarn stash looks amazing. I love rearranging my yarn. I have tall clothes hampers full of acrylic yarn that i bought years ago but don’t use anymore. I know i should give it away BUT…i love yarn so much that i just can’t seem to part with it. 🤪

Uh ohhhhh. This video showed me how out of control my stash is. Your totes and bags being moved was less than the equivalent of one of my yarn shopping trips. Yikes. I use cedar chips around my yarn and lavendar moth balls near all my wools.

citronella and lemongrass can also help keep bugs away. there is no such thing as too much yarn for crocheters and knitters heehee 😂
