just a note... the amount of light hitting your stash will fade out the colors over time (even a few months). You may want to put a uv filter over the window glass or a curtain over your shelf!
I am so happy to see Manos del Uruguay on your list! My husband is from Uruguay (we live in Chicago, USA) and I learned that Manos del Uruguay is a fantastic rural development program that helps women-owned small business owners grow their flocks and make a living off the land. Plus the yarns are gorgeous!
That's so cool! They've got a special spot in my heart because one of their yarns was my first time buying something nice from an indie yarn shop rather than craft store yarn on sale
I discovered your channel when your wedding dress video popped up on my recommended list. I watched it and thought I need to dust off my needles and get knitting again. I used to knit daily but then began painting and kind of got away from knitting. Then during COVID I took up playing the harp. I am self taught although now take zoom lessons. I am also a flutist. So I keep very busy. But I began binge watching your videos and enjoy them very much. I am sitting here knitting up the Sunday Brunch sweater in an Italian yarn, Berroco Campus in a pretty tweed like purple color. It is a kind of thick thin chunky yarn. It is kind of like riding a bike. It all came flooding back to me and I’m more than half way done with one side in a few hours. I cannot wait for your book to come out. Do you have a title for your book yet? Or a release date? Will it be sold on Amazon?
I'm so impressed how chilled your cats are with alle the yarn. My cats go crazy around organic fibers especially Alpaca yarn. With viscose and cotton I have no problem but everything else they want to hunt xD
My cat completely ignores my yarn for some reason 😆 I was super scared at first because of all the scary stories I heard, but he's more interested in the needles than anything else 🤡 alpaca does tickle his curiosity a bit though, but nothing too crazy.
Who doesn’t need motivation to organize their stash?!?!? Thank you! I’m going to work on mine today! It’s a rainy day here in Little Rock, AR so I’m not tempted to do something outside - and you have helped inspire me to get it done! Love your channel 😘
You are such a joy to watch and your way of seeing life is inspiring. I was watching an old video of yours where you talk about living before discovering photography being on UA-cam etc. I guess I’m there, right now. That period of limbo before finding a way out. I hope you shine bright always like you do, and many blessings come your way
I love that you made your inner child happy with your “shop”. Thank you so much for creating this space ❤ I love coming to see the new things you create.
omg I was so excited to see you mentioning retrosaria rosa pomar!! I live in Lisbon and I was so proud that a local shop turnout out to have one of your favourites :) I'll be sure to go there and check the yarn you mentioned! thank you for the amazing work
You really make me wanna knit again. I just bought the Japanese knitting book you recommended in your wedding dress video I got both, guess in the meantime a no 2 book came out. And I actually knitted one blouse before summer out of the Filcolana yarns the arwetta and tilia one string of each, it’s so soft and warm despite the short sleeves.Love that the offer the same color codes across their line!
I’m watching some of your earlier videos now while you are in babyland 😊 These older ones are just as great as your newer ones. I always love when you share what you are knitting at the moment.
You have inspired me to get my yarns organized,, my yarns are mostly in a dresser and bins ,,,, I love your videos and I am looking forward to your book,,, Its nice that you have youtube because Im not an instagrammer yet :).. The Sunday brunch sweater is beautiful! Have a wonderful day!!
Retrosaria Rosa Pomar is my favorite local yarn shop! They have beautiful yarns and are really friendly and helpful. For an English speaker in Portugal it's so nice because they speak English so well! It's like a little oasis.
Fabulous video. Really love the way you've arranged all your yarn. So nice and inspiring to see some of the projects you're working on. I can't wait for your book to be out.
I love all your wonderful colors. I also, would love to see a cotton, or cotton blend, with linen, bamboo... sweater, tee shirt. I' not great at knitting, but would like to try. Nice to see you organizing.
Nice Yarnstash :o) It's nice to see that you as well go back mostly to the same colors over and over again. When it comes to wool it's now very important to me, that the wool is mulesing free and as ethical as possible, after I learned how badly the animals get treated. I always thought that making wool is not a big deal, but then I read about mulesing, sheep dipping and that after years of producing wool the poor things get transported alive from Australia to North Africa to get slaughtered. But luckily more and more - especially the small companies - produce beautful yarns that are as cruelty free as possible. Knitting for Olive is one of them.
This is such a fun and cute video! I love all the excitement. I get that way too about yarn. I tend to sort my yarn by fiber type because that's usually my first consideration for what yarn to use for a project.
Thanks so much for your videos, very inspiring and motivating. I am currently making the sweater you are wearing in this particular video. I’m a new knitter and so I’m making it with an inexpensive baby yarn and if it turns out I will buy some (maybe) Merino and pair it with Mohair. PS. I’m from Canada. My friend purchased your book and we are sharing it… lovely book. I love the way it’s laid out.
would love to see you make a video on how to find good quality yarn or how to select yarn for projects. I love yarn stores but I need to stop feeling like I want to buy everything and instead be able to find exactly what I need.
Thank you Kika, this was fun and informative! Would you be able to do a video on fixing finished knitting projects, that you're not happy with? For example, I knit a mohair sweater, that is all baggy and boring, but I can't unravel it, cause, mohair. It would be great to get some ideas on what to do with these kinds of projects!
So nice! I so appreciate these recommendation. I am about to order some yarn you have suggested to make a sweater for myself. I am so excited as I have been knitting for others for several years, nice but now I will make me something beautiful!
Your videos are so great. Thank you for sharing. I have a wish for the next project...maybe in the future 😉....Summer jacket or top, home decoration. A blanket, pillow or things for the lovely kitties🐱🐈
You will love Mad Tosh Pashmina. The original owners sold the business a few years ago, it’s now owned by Jimmy Beans Wool ( online retailer in US started by some Silicon Valley programmers). The transition was a little rocky, dying quality wasn’t the same but it seems like they are on a better footing now. Sometimes the Merino Light sheds die, flecks of color fall out of the knitted garment (quite a bit actually).
Love the variety and how the yarn looks on the shelves. I believe I have the same bookcase but with glass doors since I also have to worry about cats :) thanks for sharing and can’t wait for your book!
Hey Kika, I love your Videos and start with you fotographing. A few months ago, I startet knitting - just 2 weeks later I saw your Video about knitting. I was just like "Hooooraaaaayyyy"! Thank you so much, I knittet the Sunday-Brunch-Swetter twice and looking forward to your Book. The last weeks I heard about mulesing and about the oecological effects of low budget yarns. So I was thinking about animal- and Eco-friendly yarn. I really hope that you create some sweaters in sustainable yarn in your book too, or will represent some of them. Thank you so much, for your lovely work!
Sweater! It looks so pretty🥰. Your adorable cats remind me of my sons. When I am reorganizing my yarn or build shelves, they are always around sitting or sleeping 😘
An idea for a show! Maybe you can show us how you combine different yarns to make a sweater and explain why. I, for one, did not know that you could combine different wools.
You know I lovvve your knitting videos! I've not knitted for a few months but your videos made me want to knit again so bad. Please talk about what to do with the small yarn scraps/waste. Currently I am knitting a top similar to your Lola top in rounds. It will be a crazy rainbow top 🌈 because of all the different colours. And there's a colour mixed yarn in there too, and that's the cherry on🍒 top because in there are lots of the other yarns.
What a wonderful video. A joy to watch you and see all of those beautiful yarns! I have a question regarding keeping yarns on open shelves. Do you worry about moths or other insects invading your wool fibers when you leave them on an open shelf? I'd love to do that but I'm concerned about the little buggies that sometime infiltrate my yarn stash.
Also tons of dust. I think she said she keeps them in big plastic boxes so she might have put them on those shelves just for us to see them in a more aesthetic way for the video? 😇
Well I am from Finland too, and never had any moths/other uninvited guests in my flat... :D Not saying it could not happen, of course it could, but maybe it is not as common here as in some other climates?
Do you worry about moths at all with the yarns being out in the open? I found a tiny infestation in one of my baskets of wool yarns so have put in place damage control (FREEZER) and have bagged up everything new that comes into the house.. but wondering if you have tips?
Ah, I really need to organize my yarn stash better, too :) I'm partial to cotton & other plant fibers (viscose, bamboo etc), I don't really like wool much, I admit, I find them itchy & uncomfortable, for the most part ;)
So many beautiful yarns and each shelf a new bed for Viggo 😆🐱. I am so glad you mentioned the Cascade yarn as I have literally been trying to decide if I should purchase their Heritage brand to knit a short sleeve t-shirt type knit called Anika by Bronagh Miskelly. It's a beautiful pattern perfect for Spring in Issue 227 of Knitting Magazine. I feel happier about ordering the Cascade yarn now (even though I know the one you mentioned was the 220). I have yarn stashed all over the 🏠 too! 🤣 Anyway, thank you for sharing Kika, I look forward to your book 🥰
Your Ikea shelf inspires me to do the same. I have a LOT of bins filled with yarn and would love to do something like you did. With your yarn being out in the open, do you have any concerns when it comes to dust or even the sunlight bleaching them? I have never been a fan of brioche, but I really like what you did at 17:25. When I say it, I thought it would be perfect for the sleeve/body hem of a sweater.
just a note... the amount of light hitting your stash will fade out the colors over time (even a few months). You may want to put a uv filter over the window glass or a curtain over your shelf!
yes

"What often happens is, I go to the yarn shop, and get a little crazy in there" Lol I know exactly what you mean Kika! Love your videos
That shelf with all the colours of the rainbow is sooo pretty! I'd be curious to see something made with cotton or linen yarn, a summery project!
I get so nervous about moths eating my wool so I keep everything in see through zip lock bags!
Who doesn’t need motivation to organize their stash?!?!? Thank you! I’m going to work on mine today! It’s a rainy day here in Little Rock, AR so I’m not tempted to do something outside - and you have helped inspire me to get it done!
Love your channel 😘
Thanks for all the great information on yarn and sharing your orginization of all your beautiful yarns!

I love what you wear, and by now, l tend to believe you make your sweaters look much better...
I love that you made your inner child happy with your “shop”. Thank you so much for creating this space ❤ I love coming to see the new things you create.

We never get far from the child we were! Embrace it. Can't wait for the book!
The shelf FULL OF THOSE BEAUTIFUL YARNS is so beautiful. Thank you for all of the lovely content. 💗🧶
You really make me wanna knit again. I just bought the Japanese knitting book you recommended in your wedding dress video I got both, guess in the meantime a no 2 book came out. Yes I want you to make a sweater out of that "mitten" and put the pattern in the book 😍
I’m watching some of your earlier videos now while you are in babyland 😊 These older ones are just as great as your newer ones. I always love when you share what you are knitting at the moment.
I just found your videos---thank you so much for sharing them. You have inspired me to pick my needles back up --- I had been in a slump !!!!

And you should definitely make a sweater pattern out of that two color brioche!!! Love the coral and cream combo!
I just ordered your book and I’m so excited😊new to knitting so… we will see
i feel like all the colors! they are so soft and colorful!
Retrosaria Rosa Pomar is my favorite local yarn shop! They have beautiful yarns and are really friendly and helpful. For an English speaker in Portugal it's so nice because they speak English so well! It's like a little oasis.
Great yarn stash indeed! And I adore your cat coming every now and then purring and being so lovely!!😍🥰
Hello Kika! I love knitting, i'm portuguese woman and i love Rosa Pomar to! I love your work! A BIG, BIG HUG for you!
Fabulous video. Really love the way you've arranged all your yarn. So nice and inspiring to see some of the projects you're working on. I can't wait for your book to be out.
Yes its the little things that bring joy, lovely

What a nice shelf❤ Thank you for inspiration☀️
The shelves look awesome, thank you for the sweater pattern xx
I love all your wonderful colors. I also, would love to see a cotton, or cotton blend, with linen, bamboo... sweater, tee shirt. I' not great at knitting, but would like to try. Nice to see you organizing.
I enjoyed this.
So excited for your book to come out. I have been missing your videos and hope you are well! thank you for sharing, I really enjoy watching you
Вязание это состояние души , по вязанию видно кто розовый и пушистый, по вязанию угадывается характер, вы умничка !
Lovely collection of yarn you have there! You must feel relaxed and happy just looking at your shelf. 👏👏👏
You have such a grand selection of gorgeous yarns 🧶💕
Nice Yarnstash :o) It's nice to see that you as well go back mostly to the same colors over and over again.

I recently discovered Life in the Long Grass absolutely beautiful, ships from Ireland well worth the wait
Love your yarn shelf!!! Such inspiration with all the colors!!!!

I fell in love with one of Madeline Tosh's hand dyed mohair. I am still deciding what to make with it.
Thank you so much for this video also. I got inspirations to organize my small yarn stash. ☺
so cozy and cheerful! im definitely coming back to watch your videos next time i knit, thank u for uploading
I love all the yarns and can’t wait for your book!
The shot of your cat sleeping was the most precious little thing ever
Would absolutely LOVEEEE a pattern in that pink striped sample you said you might turn into a sweater. SO cute.

Your shelf of yarn looks beautiful!! Another great video!!!

Super excited for your book! Hoping the sweater you made with the poofy sleeves is in it 🤞🏻 (#3 of your favorites I think).
Full blown sweater definitely - love the stitches
Definitely make that two color brioche into a sweater! It’s gorgeous together!
I just finished sorting and organizing my stash yesterday!
So nice to see all the beautiful yarns. 😊 Thanks for the inspiration!🌺
You have a great helper! You have inspired me to try to organize my stash.
I love your videos and can’t wait for your book.
Love your yarn shop! And yes please for the two-colour brioche sweater!
I’m so glad you decided to focus on knitting 🧶 I learn so much from you! Thank you so much! Can’t wait for your book!❤️
You r so adorable. I used to play store with my toys and my grammas canned goods
I was watching the video and suddenly my country's name popped up! Hahaha, greetings from Uruguay. Love your videos!!
Loved visiting your little "yarn shop" and am so excited for your book to come out! 🤍🌺🤍
You know I lovvve your knitting videos! I've not knitted for a few months but your videos made me want to knit again so bad. Please talk about what to do with the small yarn scraps/waste. Sooooo pretty!I love your little “yarn shop”❤️🧶💕
LOVE your yarn videos!! 😍🧶 All of those colors are just fabulous! The brioche would make an amazing sweater!!! 🌸
I find organizing using something like ravalry helps too.
Love love love this, so helpful. I couldn’t do that display with my kitties who would definitely try and rearrange 🐈 🐈⬛ 😂
What a wonderful video. A joy to watch you and see all of those beautiful yarns! I have a question regarding keeping yarns on open shelves. @@edgar7021 but shops keep their yarns exposed too. I wish I had more shelves- in bins isn’t very appealing.
Well I am from Finland too, and never had any moths/other uninvited guests in my flat... :D Not saying it could not happen, of course it could, but maybe it is not as common here as in some other climates?
She is from Finland, not many bugs there is my guess. Brrrrr.
Dzień dobry
Jesteś bardzo pozytywną osobą i miło się Ciebie słucha. Wspaniała kolekcja luksusowych włóczek.🤩🧶
7:45 knitting for olive peach sweater. Which needle size did you use? Beautiful color ❤
Do you worry about moths at all with the yarns being out in the open? I found a tiny infestation in one of my baskets of wool yarns so have put in place damage control (FREEZER) and have bagged up everything new that comes into the house.. but wondering if you have tips?
I was at a virtual conference and left just to watch this! Thanks for the yarn review🤩🤩🤩
Ah, I really need to organize my yarn stash better, too :) I'm partial to cotton & other plant fibers (viscose, bamboo etc), I don't really like wool much, I admit, I find them itchy & uncomfortable, for the most part ;)
🧶🪡✂️ can't wait for your book I'm practicing a lot so that I'll be ready 🤗 and my vote is for a sweater
Your videos are magical...
Thank you so mucj for your kind words 🥰
Beautiful colors. Lavender is sweater plus hat? Striped scarf?
Putting doors on the cabinet might be good with the cats and if you put a uv tint (if the doors have glass) will help the yarn not discolor
So many beautiful yarns and each shelf a new bed for Viggo 😆🐱. Beautiful! Thank you so much for all your fiber knowledge 😉🎶♥️
Can’t wait for the book!, will it be size inclusive? 🤞x
This video is DANGEROUS.. I now have to go bookmark all the yarns linked which is not good news for my bank balance! 🤪
Clicked for the yarn, stayed for the cat
Hi I'm a new subscriber. Oh you have me wanting to organize my yarn stash. Nice video.
