- If my backyard bunker is going to survive 250,000 pounds of dirt falling on top of it... it better be strong! Get your own Anker SOLIX F3800 HERE: ankerfast.club/17903sd Its a very impressive machine and we would not have been able to finish the bunker tubes without it!! #ankersolix #LIVEINPOWER #Anker #AnkerSOLIXF3800
I decided to build a bunker in my backyard because ever since I was a little kid - I though it would be fun to hobbit hole a home out from underground. And TODAY ITS HAPPENING! The massive conduit is finished and ready to be put in the ground.

8:20 Loved that you're trying to not disturb your neighbors with a generator while outdoor angle grinding bare metal at night! Anyways, nice project, Jerry, keep it up!
Plot twist: he is rich enough to buy all properties that surround him so nobody can bother him
or him doesn't bother others
@@rcsibiu Slow down there buddy 🤣he is not rich enough to buy all the surrounding properties, maybe just one... even if his worth 10 mil he is not even close to the price of the surrounding land and houses...he is not Zuckerberg to drop 60 mil to buy the surrounding properties just like that...America is expensive and those houses cost at least 2-3 mil each and the big ones over 5...this is not Eastern Europe where you buy a house for 150k😂🤣
burst out laughing when he said that lol Can't believe that was uttered with a straight face
@@mrmrmrcaf7801 You realise European houses are 1mil+ too. Plus in rural America you can absolutely get houses for under 200k. Also it was a joke...

Well he needs to make money somehow.
Agree not one of his best videos. Basically as you commented just one 10' infomercial.
Well atleast he mentioned the bunker in this 12 minute ad for Anker.
yes exactly, I'm getting quite sick of how much paid stuff he's being doing the past few months. dude is losing the plot.
SponsorBlock plugin found SIX sponsored segments in this video lol Rarely ever see that many
The real question is does the tube scratch at level 5 with deeper grooves at a level 6.
Somone already posted that in comments video #1, but still funny!
Boring 🙄
The real question is does he know about extension cords that cost close to nothing when compared to overbuild/overpriced powerbanks.
@@rawdez_ I mean he already had the anker so might as well use it since he might not have had high duty extension cords lying around
@@rawdez_right, because the people who sent him that had people within walking distance of their house in mind for their target marketing. Think a bit maybe before you post
Love your videos but honestly, this one felt like a 12 minute long ad. Other than that, awesome project. Can't wait to see it finished!
Gotta pay for that bunker somehow.
@@bryanhumphreys940 Are you saying his $1,000,000 a year in UA-cam money just isn't enough?
Makes me cringe everytime he does it !!!! JUST SAY WELDING MACHINE !!
That’s because it is 😂 still an enjoyable ad tho
This dude doesn't seem to be a good person... of course he is going to shill hard. Anker is paying him money and giving him free stuff, he doesnt care about your experience as much as he cares about his.
I was trying to decide between a $150 extension cord, $350 propane generator and the $2,600 Anker and this infomercial made that an easy decision. I think if you're spending $50,000 to build a bunker in your yard the Anker is a great choice but for most others it doesn't make sense. I would love to see some realistic and affordable reviews, like I actually bought my ratchets based on seeing them in one of your videos and I love them. Some get real, let's be realistic product placements would be much better than the Oprah approach of being so out of touch you don't realize the typical person can't buy a baseball team as a tax deduction.
Dont blame him, its a pay check 😂 If the sponsor thinks his viewers will buy this thing then that's on them, its their budget they're blowing.
He is using the method crafted by Bob Vila
@@mason6300 Oh no doubt but is he here for the passion, the money, the community? At some point you have to make a decision on how much you're willing to sell out at the expense of your viewers. Project Farm is doing great with ZERO question about motives. That Anker unit is a dog and a poor value, why try to infomercial it to viewers.
I know this isn't going to be a popular opinion, but $2.5k for solar inverter isn't a bad deal. I'm looking at solar for a climate-controlled shed. I'm going with components for upgradability (separate panels, inverter, batteries, charge controller), but it'll end up being more than that little cart cost. So, I feel like the audience exists, and as long as it's not shilling for a poor product, I have no problem with it.
@@nickwallette6201 That is not accurate, you can get an MPP Solar 3,500 watt hybrid inverter, 2 if you need 240v split phase for $1,100 direct from MPP Solar. You can get the EG4 rack mount LifePo4 from Signature Solar for $1,300 roughly and then solar panels are nearly low cost enough to be free at this point. Maybe $0.35 per watt. It would give you a WAY batter system for the same price, literally and that's without deal hunting. And it's redundant and up gradable.
What a time to be alive, Colinfurze's bunker series and Zack's bunker series? I'm so happy ☺️
I forgot about Tavarish's Rebuilding McLaren P1 series, that one is good too
this makes me appreciate just how good colin is though. more than i already did
The question is ! WHY, what do they know !
UK and US
If rich people are building bunkers....
Won't disturb the neighbors at night, proceeds to grind metal furiously at night.
I'm really looking forward to the 100-year durability test. Hopefully, Zach does an update😂.
He had a child so that his child can update your child on this
He said in this first video just to send him an email.
Lol. If there's no difference after 100 recharges I'll mail you my left hand.
Please don’t forget to add a blast valve/over pressure valve to protect yourself from over pressure in the bunker.
How would the bunker become over pressurized? There’s going to be HVAC obviously, it’s not a sealed vacuum chamber.
@@HCG it’s for sudden outside air pressure changes. Like something an airstrike or a nuke would create. They’re not that expensive to install and definitely a needed safety precaution. I’m not saying the bunker would survive a direct nuke it’s more for the purpose of the nuke striking maybe 50 to 100 miles away, It would still cause a massive atmospheric change.
@@HCG also it wouldn’t be hooked up to regular hvac it would only draw in air from one place that has an active carbon filter to filter out the contaminated air from bio hazard to nuclear attack. It would be basically sealed
There comes the problem, most blast valves protect from overpressure but what happens when one of the large daisy cutter bombs are used? They provide an initial blast spreading the air fuel mixture followed by the ignition of the fuel which winds up creating a vacuum in the immediate area. An ordinary blast valve will protect you from the first stage of the blast but as the second stage takes place it will open up allowing the air inside the bunker to be pulled out rapidly. Might be a good idea to put two blast valves back to back. This way one closes as air compresses and then the second on placed in reverse from the first valve will close as atmospheric pressure is depleted by the fireball. Even the air purification unit inside the bunker should have the double valve setup.
@@Subgunman why should someone use a daisy cutter on a farm house ????
I'm most intrested in why Jerry didn't just use an extension cord for welding.
Lack of critical thinking maybe?
Because that wouldn't advertise the capabilities of his anker blahblahblah whatever 'sponsor is paying me so this whole project is costing me nothing'
Extension cords that cost close to nothing are crappy, especially if they are long. Plus, they shouldn't be used for high power draw
@@user-jq9je1cc5o Totally inaccurate, you can buy a high quality extension cord for a welder with nearly zero voltage drop for $150-$250 with no trouble and they work just fine. Extension cords are fine for high draw and used all the time.
Had a chuckle when you commented about the battery being quieter than a regular gas generator… allowing y’all to work at night.
While the video in the background was someone was throwing sparks and grinding on the tubes.
Keep up the good work - can’t wait to see all the progress. 👍🏻
He's here to make cash not be honest or in touch with reality.
I guess my only question is - who makes that battery pack you were using? For some reason, you never mentioned it by name.
Lmao.
Love the built this was most likely 90% Dude’s dream growing up but I feel like this was mostly about a battery. I want to see more of the bunker.
The one person on UA-cam that I wish would post hour long videos
💯
Great video! But rather than put all the effort into lifting the pipe onto the wood, couldn't you put the wood pieces beside it, and simply roll the pipe on to the 2x4s? Even if it's too heavy to roll by hand, you could leverage a bit with other 2x4s, or use the ratchet straps to pull it.
We are just not that smart apparently. Next time.
Or just cut or dig a thin track in the asphalt to lower the rings into the ground
What's a video without a little bit of JerryRigging?
Might be worth mentioning that you need to make sure the steel rings you're welding to the tube and the flux are all compatible with each other for welding. As a newbie to welding, I fortunately stumbled across a video covering this, but of the many vids I've watched, only one mentioned it. If the steel alloys don't match closely enough you'll get (galvanic) corrosion.
I like how you talk about how generator noise would have bothered your neighbors, but the angle grinder on a giant tube didn't.
AD talking points maybe.
The generator is a 24/7 thing, however the angle grinder is when the operator presses the button, haha
I came to say the same thing. Lol. Still, great project.
Yay another 100 part series comprising of 10 minute videos of 2minutes of actual content.
How else will he get the ad revenue to go on 😢😢😢
My loard I made the exact comment then read comments and found all these so happy you are all on same page as me. What a joke this man is
Yeah, this one was pretty egregious. Did we really need a whole 10 min video that ultimately consisted of just welding 2 tubes together? This one was definitely skewing more into the infomercial territory.
UA-camrs be getting lazy
You have to have a periscope installed on that bunker, man. It'll be so cool!
Jerry: Inexpensive.
Also Jerry: So, the tubes cost more than $20,000...

@@justrandomdm true😂😂
You mean like that "Scrapheap challenge" - "Junkyard wars" collaboration?? I'll second that!
I'm really glad you had an Anker SOLIX F3800, otherwise you would have had to use an extension cable!
I remember I ounce comment on a humvee video something like "after a project like that, I don't know what will top that" and then its bunker time !!! awesome !
In regards to the Ankr product you're endorsing here:
1. Imagine if extension cords existed, so you could use your shop outlets.
2. It's so quiet, that it can power your angle grinder at night without distrubing your neighbors... Nice.
lol
Would need some beefy extension cords though. The power drop / amps over that distance would be pretty high.
@@spaceducky101 You're right about that.
I'm excited to see how Avery is going to get down there. Really loving this series so far!
Did I hear correctly that the batteries would last several days with welding but you also mentioned that the batteries would go till lunchtime, then charge 2 hours in time for the afternoon?
Bro almost every youtuber is milking their audiences. Its upto you to make sensible decisions
This was a great review of THE ANKER SLIX F3800, can't wait to see the bunker in the next ad
This is so cool. Love to see the process!
When you LOVE Colin Furze 😂😂😂 He's actually adding onto his bunker at the same time...
Tunnels are peak quality UA-cam content
Glorified commercial for Anker.
jerry making a bunker and colin furze expanding his underground tunnels. what a month to be alive content creation going wild
But to be honest - given what Collin is facing right now, this seems like playschool practice. Burrowing a tube underground isn't the challenge.Hoovie has burried several cars on plenty of occasions. Collin wanted to have a usable space. Have a look at his bunker build. There was an excavator digging it all up. But then there was building and building and bulding. And there wasn't a 12 minute Anker Battery Ad during the build just to make sense of this all.
outstanding man great job, your every project better then another keep it up I love your work
I'm excited for this! It has always been my dream to build my own bunker. Good job on the planning! I can only imagine the amount that went into this project! Good one!
Seems to me the single 40' tube would be the better bet overall...No chance of leaking at the connection and way less time. And would the crane really cost that much more than the flanges, rental of the lift, and your time?
He clearly didn't think this through, and he will need a crane to lift them into the hole.
Everything is easier in hindsight. But did he say that the flange cost 4 grand? Money is like water in America. He also said hardware. What hardware though?
You should add a little thing at the start and end of each episode that tells us the current total cost! Love this series
This is freaking awesome
I love how Colin uses a cardboard cutout but Zach uses 3d modelling 😂
And Colin's is still probably more accurate and precise.
This guy is a legend 💪
You should also install some sort of cathodic protection system! Whether it be sacrificial anodes or an impressed current system for avoiding and corrosion. Most people have no idea that it exists, and it will extend the life of your bunker after it is buried. Any little coating defect in the culvert will eventually begin the pinhole and you could start poping leaks rather quickly. Cathodic protection stops the process of corrosion through electrolysis by using a sacrificial anode and turns the bunker into a cathode. I do this for a living on underground pipelines. Definitely something to look into. 👌
This will also help ensure that the metal from the tube and the welds don't corrode! When 2 dissimilar metals are introduced, they have different potentials, which leads to having anodic and cathodic sites within the same pieces of metal. The anodic sites of the tube will corrode to protect the cathodic sites. Anywhere that stress has been introduced (ie. Welding, bending, cutting, ect.) It will be more active with corrosion. Hope this helps!
I dont care if Furze is doing one too... Im loving watching both... one over here on our side of the pond....and yours over there...
lovely jubbly 👍👍
Fantastic! It's amazing that you can dig so deep without touching any pipes underneath. And make a hidden entrance!
Whilst I loved Colin’s series when he built his bunker and I realise he has been building tunnels and is doing that James Bond style underground car park which I’m excited to see how it turns out, I’m also excited to see how sack’s bunker turns out too. Zack is making his in a different way to Colin’s and also that one was eight years ago so it’s good to see a refresh.
12 minutes of an Anker Ad, 9 seconds of content, thanks 😂
Love the Casio F-91W you're wearing, I have one too 🙌
Once welding plug extension cords get invented, you will no longer need these batteries when you're 100ft from the house...
Voltage drop is the problem, though he also rented the telehandler so he could have moved it closer to a building too.
Not sure if sarcasm, but they already exist, but the reason he used the battery is cause the video is sponsored.
Awesome 👍 small request can you maybe use metric system in the overlay or use both?
May I suggest that you pour concrete footings and some leg brackets that can be bolted down, too stabilize it.
Also once your done with the welding, very nice portable bower system.
So before you backfill , I highly recommend that you use a polyurethane spray foam, the rigid formula . That should prevent the condensation on the walls, at the same time providing a sound deadening layer. As well as keeping the temperature stable, which should be 58° F year round.
Have a great week and God bless amen.
Awesome update zack thumb up .
Did you use the Anker SOLIX F3800 for any of this by chance?
NO. It was an Anker SOLIX F3800 I think. 🤔
@@riggingengineer Ahh, thanks, missed that part.
so I work at a geotech firm and we do a lot of soil tests for drainage systems. I'm curious as to your plan for drainage as it relates to the bunker and if ground water level/rock comes into play at all for this project. Where I'm located, rock and water tend to be pretty close to the surface.
I've only heard about jerry rig from other channels, but now im feeaking hooked! This underground bunker is so freaking cool to watch!!!
I remember when Zach's videos weren't just extended commercials for his sponsors.
Title should read "Product showcase for Anker while we put some disks on a tube"
exactly he mentions it like 10 times throughout the video, wonder how much he got payed
@@rileywaghorn6225 obviously nothing, else that would be an undisclosed sponsor agreement 🙃

Nice anker video, hope to see some bunker stuff soon. Cant wait seesh😂
It's been only six days, and that hasn't stopped me from checking in every other hour. Checking for the next video.
Soon!
First an electric apocalypse hummer, then an off-grid home power supply and now this apocalypse bunker. I think Zack knows something about the future that we don't... 😮😮
Looks like it would have been easier, faster, and cheaper to buy a 40 foot tube.
If you did the hole first, you could lift it from the trailer and directly into the hole.
Well he literally stated his reasons why he bought 2 20ft tubes within the first two minutes of the video
@@YourFavouriteComment in the end it didn't look like a smart decision though. they'd still have to weld at 2 ends instead of 4 but overall that'd be less work
@@YourFavouriteComment The reason didn't make sense as he will need a crane to lift the 2 pieces into the hole, and now its weaker and might leak in the middle.
Also for the price of this he could get one of them full furnished bunkers you see on UA-cam with complete install

I bet your neighbors love you for this
This is quite the propper way to sponsor Anker, it helped massively with this project. Way to go Zack
An extension cable would have been too easy, but well sponsored video understand😂. Also 6Kw out of a power bank is not bad, how much capacity does it have?
This is such a cool series!
Colin Furze did some nice experiments with metal encased with concrete and it stays rust-free extremely well. It even performs better with direct metal-to-concrete contact versus adding a plastic layer in between. Something with chemical reactions between metal and concrete and moisture not getting trapped by a plastic layer.
I'm so glad I have sponsorblock installed. 'Hey guys, I'll keep track of the cost so that you can maybe do this yourself - but I'm being paid by my sponsor, so I'm actually paying nothing :)'
Edit: Honestly, this video is trash.
2nd Edit: My suggestion, stop advertising for your sponsor and just do the project with the tools you have, without naming each and every one. 'Anker' 'Trenchcoat' and skip telling us how much the project is costing you, because it isn't actually costing you after your ad revenue. Embarrasing
Yeah, the video is useless.
-buys 30k tubes
-dugs his backyard
-puts tube in groung
-covers it up
-refuses to elaborate further
Can't wait to see a teardown video once it is complete
That angle grinder was probably way louder than a generator would be😅 but your point still stands for sure.
