Don't listen to the haters, I'm a middle aged metal musician and my opinion you have great skills, in time you will develop your own style of singing metal, write your own songs etc. once you start to live it the experience will come
The greats all die young , so very true..Randy Rhoads, Jimi Hendrix, Bon Scott, Keith moon, Janis Joplin, etc.. I can go on and on. They all died young...
It’s like Dylan’s version of All along the Watchtower vs Hendrix. Dylon liked Hendrix version so much he started using it instead of his own. Now Steel Heart uses the version from the movie.
Wao.. what a confidant young man with an impressive vibrato & an upper range that is to die for. He just needs a little TLC on lower registers & flat notes(nothing a little practice & a good vocal coach couldn't fix)but overall? This boys got a decent set of pipes, very talented & should explore singing as a part time or even potentially a full time career.
Just came across this cover. Damn.... somebody please tell me he's in band. He can sing and he has good vocal range. Might have been a little flat at times but he did way better than most could. Great job, you nailed it bro.
Seeing this performed by a guy in a dress shirt and vest is a whole other experience-- I love the contrast of his yuppie image with the absolute METAL MAGIC he sings!!! HOLY COW, that was better than some current front men! He's in the Robert Sweet range with those high notes and his vibrato is insane. Hope he's living his dreams.
This guy is what i consider power but no substance. It's one thing to be able to hit notes, but he has no emotion and soul behind it. I'm not hating at all, this is a beast of a song to tackle, it just seemed to be just going through the motions for such a powerful piece of metal. A little rasp and attitude would have gone a long way.
but obviously you FAILED to notice this is a karaoke singing contest not an actual singing contest... check the difference first FYI: he is actually reading the lyrics via a monitor... K-A-R-A-O-K-E
@@kaylokohen9587 Obviously you failed to hear him say he taught himself to sing with this song. So I highly doubt at this point he is reading the lyrics. He knows them. The O.P. was right in his assessment.
I gotta agree honestly I don’t think this was good Not trying to be mean or anything but it’s really hard to explain some people just have it and some people down no matter how they can sing it’ll just Never be right
it's a karaoke... check the title first... this is not a regular singing contest... didn't you notice the minimal amount of audience... but anyway your spun cracks me big time LOL
Wow this performance was sick like other have said a lil more raspy would have been good but that transition to crazy high note was smooth af hahaha loved it
For a self taught guy, this is really good. Good range and tone. You obviously have a good ear. Only iffy part, missing some rasp on the high end. That helps push the song. Other than that nice job.
@@SlayerHawkX Yes, from the movie ROCKSTAR.. Yes, But the singer & song writer that actually did the voice over work for Mark Wahlberf, which was (Miljenko Matijevic) has been doing writing and singing for a very long time, way long before the 96's... "JUST SAYIN.." That style is from the 80's and played a major role in how the 90's music sounded, at the beginning stages of the hair band era, which not too long after that, killed music... His style is modeled after the 70's, perfected in the 80's, and announced in the 90's as main stream, "Just Sayin"....
Ok...so let me see if I get this. This is a cover, of a guy singing a cover of a song from a movie about an actual band, but the band in the movie was fictional...got it. Well, done too...
This is one of my favorite songs and iust say WELL DONE!!!!!!!❤❤

Well, mate...ya want the gig, then?
i gotta take a piss first
I got a hole and a half sittin on a shelf
Shannon Hall Is hole and a half a real song? I thought that line in the movie was just a line.
very clever this comment.........well played
Mate...
Dude I just started singing at 49 yrs old this song has been my hurdle the whole time your preformace was good your singing was amazing
Don’t feel discouraged! This song is very challenging, especially the high notes and breath control! Keep practicing man! 🤘
A star is born dayum
Wow. 1000% yes!!
Awesome Michell. I hope Jeff Scott Soto heard this. Great performance.
WOW!!!!!!! BROOOO!!!!!!!!!
-TEXAS
Impressive. One of the best covers of that song!!!

That was simply amazing brother. Wow 👏 fantastic. One of my all time favorites.
Looking forward to watching more from you.
Great job brother! You did the song proud. Hope to see you fronting a band!
Holy crap that was amazing!
Great job !!!
Awesome
That was simply AWESOME! He had decent control of his notes. He is band quality.
Better than the movie🤘
Don't listen to the haters below....most of them cant reach those notes anyway. Unbelievable power metal voice dude.
*Ohhh that was awesome*
*i love Rock Star movie!*
Don't ever give up mate you see constructive criticism isn't needed here you nailed it, I would like to see all those that comment do this?
Zakk's pinch harmonics are sadly missed here....singer belted this one!!!
Sadly but he at least went as high as Miljenko did! 🤘🏻
It’s like Dylan’s version of All along the Watchtower vs Hendrix. Dylon liked Hendrix version so much he started using it instead of his own. Now Steel Heart uses the version from the movie.
this guy is awesome
where can I find the instrumental ?
You got the gig then

Not hating on the kids voice. But needs more attuide in higher notes. Sounds alittle flat and smooth. Need to release the inner metal head inside.
yeah i agree but i will say it is one thing to sing a rock song but you need to live, breathe and feel it and sing with passion
I totally agree! This original has so much passion... I don’t feel it here
@@Oisdead Agreed.
very good yeah rock live
That was amazingly good. Well done.
Very very well done lad!!!
It's not about just hitting the notes. Its about the attitude in which you use to hit them
Brasil!!!!! I love song and movie
2:36 DAMN!!
There's one thing to "hitting the notes" but another to *actually enjoy the voice*
Good song impressive performance
NICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done and a great voice !
Beautiful Job🥀Mili of Steelheart sings this song but written by Kenny Kanowski former Steelheart member I'm impressed🥀
Very good,Mitchell! Miljenko Matijevic is my favorite singer of all time.
I guess us Canadians really love Steelheart/Steel Dragon/Rockstar 🤣🤘🏻🤘🏻
I love you…..
Omaagawd..!! 😱😱😱
That guy is simply a savage for highs 😬
GD that boy got some pipes !
This, legit, is the best cover of what I consider one of the hardest songs to sing correctly
yeah Rob slays it, hits the style perfect, this kid is too clean, needs some growl, but he's good.
Eh
John Strika, it's very Hard!
I have pipes but they run drains thru the basement. Impressive
Amazing,well done dude!!!
Holy Jesus... this is the best cover I've heard of this song. AMAZING
This dude has some fucking pipes
God what a voice freaking rocked it!!!! i hope he is in a rock band !!!!!!!
WWOOWWWW... LIKE DAMN!!! SSOOOO DANG TALENTED!!!!!
Holy shit wow ! Very hard song to cover and you were rocking the vocals in high range .
Good job buddy, you did the song justice.

If he wants to be a hair band front man, why does he look like he just came from the rodeo? Someone introduce him to Steven Tyler's costume designer.

my god listen to those vocals. this gut can sing!!!!
hes amazing live!
Nice voice dude, keep going, maybe u gonna go far!!!
very nice job
In Music there is time to use "Vibrato" and time to leave it in the bag. Balance is key!
In Sweden, judges are computer screens.
I'd buy the CD if if sounded just like this... It would bring me back to the 80's... Nice job!!!!
songs from 96 just sayn..

Wicked!
You definitely got the gig, I suppose.
Wooowww
Wow!!!
🥀Dayamm he's good! Great job🥀👍
Just grow your hair and lets start a band..🤘🤘
Nice voice seriously. But what the heck is the backvocals are doing in a contest?!?!?
...and the chorus and delay effect?
I want to hear him sing some steelheart or slaughter would fit perfect considering what he's singing is the lead singer of steelheart
DAMN!!!!!!
Fuckin awesome!
He is a very good singer.. he is missing the distortion..rasp.. for this but it's be interested in him singing iron maiden..
Not bad at all. No one sings this like Miljenko Matijevic can but this guy did a pretty good job.
buena voz grande en los altos pero le falto ese toque rockero que lleva la pieza
le falta la actitud, muy plano pa cantar
le falta los raspados. En los altos se fue de tono, mucho vibrato vibrato en los altos también. Tiene una voz mas para power metal
Holy shit Batman !!! WOW !!!!
What about that minor tweak at 2:35?
It would be nice of his voice had more grit to it then it would have been perfect.
What does he eat ? How can he cover such a hard song 😳
Wow he truely kicks ass! Marvelous!
Good voice. Less relative synchronisation in music and vocal.
No soul. Awesome voice.
Sukz no rasp to voice.
He killed this, from his vocal style however, I feel like he could murder some Iron Maiden!
ugh!
To be a rockstar one must first dress like a rockstar. Other than that great vocals.
Ouch, it's a little out of tune and no I'm not gong to post a rendition
Ok...so let me see if I get this. This is a cover, of a guy singing a cover of a song from a movie about an actual band, but the band in the movie was fictional...got it. Well, done too...
Based on Tim Ripper Owens being hired to sing for Judas Priest
Studio recording, I prefer live.
desafinou em partes mas meteu um agudo do caraioooo
"well mate, you want the gig then?"
2:36 Was not prepared for that!
He's going a little sharp but I guess if he was Justin Bieber they would just auto-tune that out.
