I ran into Craig today and met him for the first time in his van at a parking lot. Immediate sense of a fellow speaking my language! We shared stories and he gave wonderful advice. I Immediately came home and looked him up and came across this video. Thank you Freehub for showcasing this, and for Craig for being his true authentic nutty self. It’s so affirming to meet sometime who gives unapologetic voice to how I’ve felt for years. The “I value my extra time over extra money” comment?!?! Oh! I’ve said that for years at my old job who was always pushing me to work overtime and they were confused why I wasn’t motivated by the money like my coworkers. Thank you Craig for being a trailblazer! You’ve got community in us if you ever are our way ❤
I used to work with Craig at Boeing in Spokane. I always found him to be an intelligent, engaging and quite funny in a dry sense kind of guy. Keep up the biking Craig, I know you are enjoying your life and it's well deserved ! Bill Mills
Inspiring!!. At 36, I'm in a constant battle in my mind on what I should be doing at certain points in my life and what society puts on you to be at certain points in my life. All I know is that I love doing the things I loved doing at a teenager at 36 years old. I just don't want to grow old or let age stop what I love doing.
I wish I could give a thousand thumbs up for this small documentary on how to live life. ‘Have a lot of time and little money instead of a lot of money and little time’
The best film or the best life i want to live. I've watched 5 times in a row. dreaming of the day i can pull the trigger and live the life Craig lives. Kudos!! Living your best life. Craig you're an inspiration! Thank you.
This is so friggin AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! I have a Sprinter......I work for "The Man" ....I will do this, eventually...and sooner rather than later. Better keep a bar stool open Craig, you're not the only one who likes beer. Cheers!
That was such a great piece! Love the narration by Craig himself. His feeling of calm and being grounded was perfectly captured and made me more calm just drinking in the vibe. Great Job all.
Wonderful story! I admire people who just came to ralization that life is not just going to work or doing the same thing every single day. His sentence is so much eyeopening - "I'll rather have little money and lot of time then having a lot of money and no time at all". Hats of to Craig!
Keith Savall here. Glad to see you're doing well! It took me years to get used to living alone. But I prefer it now. I still do some mountain biking but mostly hiking. Sharp stick in the eye is right across the street from where I live.
Great show guys, hope he lives longer, I’m 70 but not as able as he is but I have my fun. I’m retired and loving life. I have a family and I’m very good with that 😊
Love this! I saw Craigs van years ago at a trailhead in So WA. I was inspired by his rig and his stickers. ; ). Great to see an intimate story of his adventures. Beatifully made little vid. Thank you!
I have no words to describe all the sensations that this story, and within this story this character, has made me experience in such a short time of this fabulous video’s duration. At 39, I have been searching for over a month for a type of bike with which I can feel comfortable to embark on an adventure not similar, but aimed at being able to enjoy a life similar to the one told here. But first, there is a lot of work to do, the first and most important, knowing how to distance oneself from the slave life that we 'must' have to stay afloat. With a bit of intelligence, cunning, and good behavior towards others, I hope not too long from now to be able to live my own life, without needing to have the obligation to get up every morning to give away my time for a few pieces of paper. Like Craig Bierly, I cannot conceive a life without pedals, I was also not very good at walking with this gravity. I have been riding a bike since I was 4 years old, nothing and no one supported my path to take off. It is time to build my own airplane to go as far as one can go. Thank you for this video, for telling this story, and for being there. Thank you.
Wow, this is so awesome. What an inspiration this guy is! Keep going man, hopefully some day me and my crew will run across you in Moab.... we belly up at the bar too.👌🏼
Great Story, I dream of this Life Style everyday. As a carpenter I do the daily 12-13 hour grind everyday. Trying to MTB 1-2 times a month. I need to make some changes. Thanks for sharing the journey Craig!
Yo have to do what you have to do… and doing it well… This video is trully amazing… give’s me hope. The production it’s just awesome. Thank’s for sharing ❤
Not sure how I discovered Craig’s blog about 10 years ago but he’s been an inspiration ever since. Hoping one day we cross paths out on the trails. Great mini-documentary, thanks Freehub and Craig!
I'm sure one could spend a lifetime riding all the trails in America and not cover the same ground twice. However If Craig ever has an itch to try riding elsewhere, I'd suggest he venture North of the border. There's phenomenal trails in Canada.

Bro I’m still riding every day at more than twice your age. Moved to Moab in 99 and haven’t looked back. RIDE365/MOAB

Just now I found my new role model
its been a minute since I've crossed paths with Craig but I think about him every time I hit the road in my van. That man is a national treasure!
I would give this video 2 thumbs up if I could.
So proud to call Craig a dear friend! I've ridden many Sedona/Prescott miles with him. He is one of a kind, in the best way!
Heading in this direction myself. I love mountain biking and the solitary time you get. The beauty that you see. The quiet you experience.
A great way to retire without getting old, inspiring!!!
Keep living your dream Craig! Such a well done mini doc. by the Freehub and the team behind it🙌

Seen this van few times on my trips to bend, love it!
I met and rode with Craig in Sedona during my days on the mtb in 2014 or so. Not many life riders living in vans then. Good to see him in good health.
Well done video! I've bumped into Craig several times in my MTB journey's. A true knowledgable gentleman.
