  • Hi Everyone, back out for a multi day trip to the Scottish Highlands. Myself and Simon took our Vans to a remote area of the Highlands. After a 460 mile journey we arrived at Loch Maree, planned to kayak across and spend a night on the islands. But ended up doing a very long Hike to one of the Remotest places I have ever had the pleasure and discomfort to Visit. Some mishaps along the way.
    Enjoy

    Doing this Steve will keep you young....as ever brilliant to watch & don't worry about the "downs" we all have those and as long as you learn from them you can turn them into positives. 👍🏻

    Cracking video and imagery Steve. Pleasure to meet you n Simon despite you being the best/worst snorer ever. 11 miles to get there apparently, though with my unintended detour, I hiked nearly 15. Would have loved to stay a couple of nights.

    Another intetesting video Steve. I am heading off to the Picos de Europa mountains on Friday on my trusty Pan st1300. Getting ferry from Rosslare to Bilbao. Have booked a hotel in Potes as a base for touring from, Richy Vida uses it and he rates it. Just hoping that the Bay of Biscay is calm for the crossing! Still hope to do the Norway trip next June. Turned 60 last weekend so now in this new decade of my life I hope to be able to carry out a lot more travel etc. If you are organising another camping meet for next year please let me know, it would be fun to meet up.

    Another great vid steve! Shame about the battery. I have got I microstart xp1 and has got me out of a couple of sticky situations on my GS and with the van! It will start upto a 3L diesel (so they say) a small handy bit of kit 👍

    Interesting that one Steve, the bothy's seem to vary in quality and I guess they are hit and miss, seen some really palacial ones on you tube. Glorified cow shed that one but at least it was shelter and free. Take care

    Hi Steve I'm the same vintage as yourself and thinking of getting out to do some adventures. I've been looking at the older transit connect similar to yours as it has the higher roof which helps. Love your videos. Keep them coming as they are inspirational.

    Great area, never walked in from that end Steve, always come in from either the North or from the East. Hard going but certainly worth it. Next you will have to try it in Winter ha ha. I know what you mean about the long drive, for me its between 10 or 11 hours on the road, then about a 10 mile hike straight away, you do get used to it, its either that or im crazy? Been a bad year for midges, ticks and horse flies, been Scotland hiking nearly every month for the last 4 years but never seen it so bad for bugs. Really enjoyed the video, especially the drone footage.Take care mate, Atb Bill.

    • @stevebutler7156
      @stevebutler7156  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Bill, yes the area is stunning. Bugs were definitely a problem. If the weather had been better would have possibly kayaked across then up and over. But took the alternative from Poolewe but it was a hard walk. Wouldn’t mind doing a winter one, but my joints are getting a bit troublesome now. You never no might give it a go again. All the best 👍

      Too be honest it was a really Hard Hike in and out, I really could do with losing a bit of timber. Took too much in the pack but hey ho. Bothy was a bit bleh not the best but I wasn’t expecting the Ritz 😂 The scenery well made up for everything. Thanks for watching 👍
