Thanks for showing us the sentencing, Baker. I think this was the first trial I on your channel. She seemed quite defiant during the trial, and still does here. I wonder how many people actually acknowledge or accept their real part in their crime/offence...
I think this lady is special, she had a bad childhood, but does that allow her to take a life? To many times it ends up with "but im not responsible because", which is BS
@thebrokenbaker Yes, I agree. I heard the judge mention that she had ptsd from early childhood abuse, but the shooting through the door was so awful... she'd already called the police... her response was so extreme. Having weapons so easily accessible in the US seems to me a huge part of the problem to me. Here in Australia I would have to come up with an extraordinary kind of weapon if I thought I needed to kill someone. I think I recall that she bought that weapon not long before the incident, so I felt that she was preparing for an escalation in her response. I can't imagine using that kind of force against anyone - but the thought of time in jail certainly is a good deterrent to me! 🚔⛓️🚔
I think the judge got it right. The locked door was a layer of protection. The judge was right, she was angry, but she could’ve waited for the police and there wouldn’t been a different outcome. I do think that if it hadn’t happened that day, it would’ve happened on another day. This lady was a ticking time bomb. Scary.
