I used float and feeder yesterday for half the first round lol.
To clarify, no float and feeder do not go count. I had to throw those fish out.

As much as they use the in-game popups to spam us with their DLC sales, I don't understand why they don't use them to inform us about patch notes or major updates / changes like this..
In every other tournament until now they put the restrictions on the first page. Now, they hid the spinning restriction on the last page.
I play this game for over 10 years now, and I'm standing with my mates at the lake, wondering why our fish wouldn't count 🤷🏼♂️
I know we're not the only ones - judging from the comments here, and the chat during the tournament. We were able to improvise, since we had a spinning rod and (at least some) lures with us.
But I imagine there were people who couldn't, and had to leave the tourney. Just seems like a major f*ckup to me.
soopa dave,when did the 4th of july event start? it doesnt say how many days are left,it doesnt show anything about 4th of july event on my steam pc account but on my ps4 it does,maybe i completed it last year on pc,i closed the game out ,no updates to download

It would be very disappointing to show up with only float gear and not be able to count your catch. We will test float to see if that was a misstatement by FP. I don't think saltwater rods have the casting distance to be useful in this tournament if they were allowed.
