Here’s the thing. Vibrato/resonance/range made him one one the best Rock singers of our time based on the fact that those attributes (when partnered with great songwriting & arrangement) can create goosebumps & tears in a 40 year old grown man. To quote Hetfield… “And nothing else matters.” I’ve gotta learn this….not to become famous…but because it makes me feel amazing, and I want to make people close to me feel amazing, if even for a moment.
Chris is the reason I ever picked up a guitar in high school, 15 years ago. The minute I heard Its Not Over I had to. I was blown away at his voice and talent, and always wanted to know the man behind the voice and how he got there. Thanks so much for this interview!
Yeah!! Can you even wrap your head around the fact that he felt trapped at one point in his career that he was not allowed to experiment, which is so crucial for any artist. Then got the call to go on the Masked Singer. It was like he was reborn into a heightened evolution both as an artist & as a human being. It was beautiful.
Been a HUGE fan of Daughtry for 11 years. Saw them perform back in 2016 at Glasgow 02. It was my first ever gig and the experience was incredible. As soon as Chris walked on stage I was just mesmerized, thinking "This guy who has inspired me is standing 10 feet away from me right now". And what's more, when the show was over, I managed to meet them all afterwards. My dad told me to hang around incase they come out and meet everyone and boy, am I glad I listened to him. I got pictures and autographs and will forever cherish them. But what I will cherish the most is when I shook Chris' hand, hugged him and said "You're my hero". My dad never felt happier for me and I never felt happier. And he complimented my dad's jacket, which made his day! Thank you, Chris Daughtry for being an inspiration to me and millions of others.

I listened to him back in the early days of his albums and recently listened to Separate Ways between him and Lizzy Hale. Is like meeting back a friend which has undergone much changes and appreciating it.

I listened to daughtrys music ever since I was little.....maybe 5 or 6, and I'm turning 22 in late December. I even got to see him live last year at the tobin center with my sister during his dearly beloved tour. Then after listening to his newest song artificial......it's just a straight up fact that not a single one of his songs are bad. I don't listen to his music as much anymore since I discovered other bands, but I still love it
I think I wrote off Daughtry because I first found out about him as a singing competition guy. That needs to change. He seems like such a cool person. Throwing Copper was a huge inspiration for me early on as well. Amazing, inspiring interview!
It's funny because I didn't know how to sing in mixed voice until a few days ago and even Daughtry is learning new things and hearing his take on Chris making crazy noises on how to sing and I can see his excitement on Chris's resources for his channel and his singing courses. If you watch early Chris on AI, he had a lite country accent. Jon Pardi is from my town in NorCal. He went country and picked up an accent, Chris went Rock, and lost his. Language is fascinating.

Been a fan of Daughtry since Idol and a fan of yours since randomly coming across a video of yours last year. I'm only about 20 minutes into this podcast and absolutely loving it! It's so cool getting to hear Daughtry's experiences as a kid, especially when you consider the amount of random chance events (paired with a lot of hard work & natural talent) that led to where he is today.
Really loved this interview! So free, honest & inspiring from start to end. I could relate on so many things but it at the same gave me some things to think about when I'm at the moment post-producing my second album.

I'm at 1:10:55 in where they are talking about him being on the Masked Singer. I haven't seen the show so new tabbed and watched a couple of the replays. How the hell do they not recognize who he is? Chris has such a unique voice that I can recognize it anywhere. Like I freaked out when I heard him do Separate Ways randomly on the radio. Guess it might just be my time watching AI and using the Dial Idol software to vote for him over and over.
Can anyone tell me why I get dizzy when I hit high notes? It used to not happen when I was younger but since I've started back to singing I've noticed it happening.

I watch all the videos by Chris and I listen to songs by another Chris every week =D A lot of people are waiting for me on stage, but I just feel I'm not ready yet. And I keep watching those videos, learning, trying everything I hear and it helps me so much! Especially when this channel was just a small one, I've participated in a screaming challenge and I learned so much from it! Actually, someone from the comment section heard me and said what was wrong. This just blows my mind, how it all turns out now, how this channel grows, how we learn something new every week. I just have no words to describe everything =) Hello from Russia! With much love! ;)

Chris has such a unique voice that I can recognize it anywhere. Like I freaked out when I heard him do Separate Ways randomly on the radio.

Can anyone tell me why I get dizzy when I hit high notes? It used to not happen when I was younger but since I've started back to singing I've noticed it happening.
