I'm Australian and believe me, we know how Ireland feels right now. We used to have top players at established clubs in Europe's top 5 leagues but nowadays our most established player is the second in like GK at Arsenal on loan from Brighton where he can't even get a game anymore. Other than that they're all running around in Asia. Back then we were beating the likes of Brazil, Uruguay and one of the top teams in the AFC while nowadays we can barely scrape past fucking Thailand, Uzbekistan, Syria and Palestine while getting knocked out in the last Asian Cup by the UAE while still managing to miraculously qualify for the last World Cup
To be fair it was Rodrigues who got the goal, and If I know football like I think I do then any player named Rodrigues, cisse, sanga or hernandez is always going to give you problems.
