that amount of turbo is basically a jet engine that happens to have a piston engine in the middle of it
At some psi, with an indestructible engine the turbo should stop giving more power without a bigger fuel pump and fuel injectors. Bc it would put more air than it is necessary to burn all the fuel inside the cylinders.

@@jet100a in theory Yes, but the temperature and pressure needed for it to ignite is almost impossible to get. Also, the amount is really low, so it wouldn't burn as a reliable energy source

when the turbo gets an engine
for those who dont know the boost power equation is : boosted power=na power *((boost pressure(psi) +14.7)/(14.7)).
to do it with any other pressure unit change the 14.7 to whatever the ambient pressure is in that unit.
That's assuming all else remains equal under ideal conditions with identical backpressure, fuel atomization, IATs, EGTs, and god only knows what other variables. That is NEVER the case.

also in real life, it's a good rule of thumb to know when people are BSing power numbers. like you can't put a stock k20 on 8psi and make 500hp. the math says no.
also it's good for small adjustments. like if you have your car tuned at a specific pressure you can calculate the power for +/- a few psi and it will be accurate. the bigger the adjustment the less.
also useful for dealing with power loss at altitude for na cars where it's like bang on. this is what they do for correction factors on dynos to account for their altitude. its also how shops bs their dyno numbers by telling their dyno they are on the top of mt Everest and a mediocre build turns into a "dyno proven" monster.
@@nick4506 PSI means nothing you could have a small turbo on a k20 running at 8 psi and only pick up 20 hp or you can have a HUGE turbo that makes 1000 whp at 8 psi. Think of how much water would come out of a garden hose at 8 psi vs a fire hose at 8 psi.
@@joey9511 psi means everything. I recommend banks power, and Greg's airplanes and automobiles, and ritxhard holdner. they make videos that can explain it better than I can in a comment.
Anyway real life doesn't work like a video game. A bigger turbo is just spinning slower to make the same boost pressure. 8psi is 8psi nomatter what size turbo it's coming out of. There are other factors like exhaust backpressure that is affected by turbo size. But you cannot make 1000 hp with a k20 at 8psi, it just is not possible.
If you don't believe me watch the videos from the channels I recomend. And if you don't believe them build a 8psi k20 and get disappointed.
@@nick4506 I have been building turbo cars my whole life. I have built a 95 civic 220 whp, a 01 integra 275 whp. My current car a 2014 focus st on the stock turbo @21 psi made 230ish whp now with a GTX3071R on 15 psi it makes 360 whp because this turbo is much larger than the stock one and therefor moves more air at any given PSI.
your cars fuel pump runs at 100+ PSI and a water hose only flows 10 PSI yet your water hose can move a lot more water.
