You didn't mencioned the 1.4 TDI (a 3 cylinder version of this engine that vibrates a lot)
They are very common here in Portugal. Lots of police cars with this engine still going strong after almost 20 years and lots of km in very harsh conditions. Also, the tuning scene loves it by its power and robustness and keep going strong (although they get them to smoke A LOT). One of the best diesel ever made, in my opinion

Thanks for bringing up the 1.4 TDI! It’s impressive to see how reliable those engines have been, especially in tough conditions. It’s amazing how they’ve stood the test of time!

I had that engine on a Station Golf, the timing belt stripped at 15K and then at 19K because of the tensioners so called design flaw. Very reliable indeed.

    2002 1,9TDI with 102PS (no agr, no dpf) 👌
    Currently driving a 2008 1,9 TDI with 130PS 👍
Also one of the best BMW 1998 2,5L 6Cylinder in series 👍👍
1998 2.2l tdi is also nice
Diesel scandal was not with 1,9l.. it was with 2.0l or 1.6l and so on but not the 1.9l. They do not produce 1.9l since around 2008.
Always using b0 diesel and oil that can be used with dpf. Let the turbo and motor cool down a bit before turning it off and also let it warm up before giving 100%..
Manual transmissions are also more durable but some people do not know how to shift and destroy the motor by driving in 4th gear @50km/h uphill.
    Nice video!
I will drive the 1,9 as long as i can. 🙂

1.9TDI was half good and half bad and unreliable and expensive A.F. to fix it.
