It's because he's saying it as Sasuke. Sasuke says it correctly. I'm sure if he said Naruto in his own voice, he wouldn't use the Japanese "r" sound

Yuri lowenthal, tara strong, Grey Delisle, Mark Hamill, Kevin Conroy, and bradly dee baker literally voiced my entire childhood cartoons. I was born in 2002 and I’m so glad I grew up watching cartoons like Ben 10, the last airbender, the clone wars, teen titans, and so much more.
Sasuke and Ben 10, two of my fav characters were voiced by this GOAT🐐
I like Yuri’s voice, he voice Superman in Legion of Superheroes and Spider-Man.
In fact, I think he should definitely voice Shadow the Hedgehog, with his deep voice, because he would sound perfect 👌

I love Yuri as as the “man from the railroad” in the horror podcast “Old Gods of Appalachia”. The way he portrays him is such a great villain. Just makes my skin crawl. Excellent work
When I played Spiderman I felt that there was a romantic undertone between peter and yuri (the female cop). When I looked it up and found out yuri was voiced by his wife everything clicked. I mean, you can sense it in their acting voices, they must really love each other.

I love the answer at 2:29. I was thinking “man, he doesn’t change much for the voices he does, most sound the same.” He says yes, that’s the case, but the voice he creates with a character is acting in the moment with whatever script he has in front of him and that’s what important.

Regardless, Yuri Lowenthal is an outstanding Voice Actor for Characters with Youthful Vigours and Appearances.
My favourite role from him would defintely be his Childlike, yet unnerving performance as Deadalus Yumeno in Ergo Proxy, though I also love his voice work as Spider-Man and the Prince of Persia.
