I am mexican and blend in my nutribullet and it comes out good and if you want it more chunky don't blend it so much...she isn't being lazy, lazy would be getting everything from a can.
I grow my own food{will not get produce at a wal mart or retail store}or a farmers market,I enjoyed this cause I am making my own and you helped me know what I forgot and you are a awesome woman,I bet you are fun to hang out with :)
She's actually very entertaining. Way better than most PRO's on food channel. First time seeing her I thought of Lisa Kudrow doing a cooking tutorial. Can you imagine? lol! You're doing great Ms. Hilah. I love your very natural style.
I entered my companies 2013 Salsa making contest and, without ever making salsa before, followed your video and won the contest. It was out of a field of 12 entries. Thanks Hilah!
Omg this is the best salsa i ever made thankyou. I never used tomatoes jalepenos onions or cilantro in any salsa ive ever made! It makes it taste great! Thankyou
thanks for the recipe! you actually made me break out my bong and take a hit as i was watching this so i could be on your level haha will try making this now
the lime question: limes typically sold in supermarkets are Persian or Tahiti limes and are indeed seedless. Petite key limes, on the other hand as you mentioned, contain seeds. Seedless limes are classified as a parthenocarpic fruit, meaning the flowers don't require pollen to make fruit. Though some fruits are bred to have no seeds, seedless limes are naturally occurring
if this means anything try oranges with your salsa instead of lemons like 8 jalepeinos large size put 3 medium size and if you do that the heat is like covered but like 3-5 seconds later the spice kicks in like a mule but the sweet of the oranges make it a sweet and spicy taste try it its good
For all the people that say it looks like shit, you have to wait for the air bubbles to settle out. It eventually turns a bright red. If any of you have ever made salsa in a blender like they do at all restaurants, you would know this. She is funny.
I just made the most BAD ASS SALSA following your guid! ! Only i threw a Habanero in there and cooked the tomatos and chilis. . Its Awesome ! Do you have a recipe for Salsa with an avocado base ?
If you use canned tomatoes instead of fresh, it's a bright red. Or you can take this raw salsa, simmer it a few minutes, and then chill it and it will stay red.
your intro was great. Love your recipe for the salsa. in the winter, where I am (st. louis) I use canned tomatoes that are somewhat seasoned with cumin, jalapeno and that adds a nice kick to the salsa I make which is oh so very similiar to yours. I love that style of salsa. Yummo! Luv to watch your videos.
Sounds awesome! I have a recipe in my ebook: The Breakfast Taco Book which you can buy on Kindle, but actually the PDF version has been spread all over the internet so if you even just google the title you will find it and can download it if you don't have a kindle.
my girl makes pretty bomb salsa and even though i dont cook, ive heard its important to cook the tomatoes first so its not all liquidity when you blend them. you might even have to add water after making it.
omg, you turned it into tomato suce. Chop the veggies smaller, or use a food processor instead of a blender. And the cilantro wont turn brown because of the acid from the tomatoes and lime. BUT ... you amused me, so Im subbing 😊
I made it only using 4 tomatoes and it came out pretty good! People her shows are geared for people who have no idea how to cook so if you already know stop watching and keep your comments to yourself!
Hey Hilah, I just wanted to let you know, that even though its been 13 years since this video posted, this is still my favorite salsa recipe and I share it with people still to this day!
I love your videos.. all of them.. just wish you stayed in Texas. Your awesomeness is needed in Texas. Come back Hilah !!!!!!! I liked you better when your cabinets didn't have doors on them.... :)
Thanks, I enjoyed your watching your video. You are a pretty funny gal, not so serious, fake, or snobby like some other videos I see. It was like I was chilling with a friend making salsa. :)
Tomato paste for color and flavor and after you blend it drain it in a sieve. I had to learn to make salsa because I have a garden and you get like a million pounds of tomatoes in one week and have to do some damn thing with them fast. Also, my wife can eat chips and salsa three meals a day. Make a shit ton and freeze it in storage bags, stack them bitches, and eat salsa all winter. You can also make enchilada sauce with the salsa by adding normal taco seasonings, chicken broth, and sriracha, and cooking it down a few hours. Put that shit on some eggs and chest hair shoots out of your chest like a play-dough press.
ObviouslyAMoron ... line of the year - "PUT THAT SHIT ON SOME EGGS AND THE HAIR SHOOTS OUT OF YOUR CHEST LIKE A PLAY-DOH PRESS!!! 😂😂😂 Now that is too god damn funny right there!!! WELL PLAYED SIR... WELL PLAYED!!!
Hola!. Thanks so much. 1st time I attempted making salsa and it turned out awesome. Great cooking lesson with a little dirty mind..lol.. Really, good job....:)
Salsa is fun! It is true that Mexicans often boil the tomatoes, onion, and chile peppers for a bit before blending but sometimes they don't. I would kill for a jalapeño like that but Spanish people don't like spicy stuff so I have to settle for wimpy peppers I find at a Pakistani market. ¡Buen provecho a todos!
cómo estás? Hilah, I like your fresh salsa, the 'salsa' we get here in germany is just jars of ketchup with 'chunks' in it, not so good... i like to roast my veggies before putting 'em in a blender but that's just what comes up to my mind... Thank you fo' showin' this great recipe! Please make some Guacamole for us! take care! Joe from Germany
I love how she makes the asexuals unhinged. Hilah, you're the best. Don't let these haters get to you. You are truly adored by the ones who love your vids.
Made this last nite. pretty good! Only difference? I used 2 limes and complely seeded jalapenos. Following another receipe, I added an 8oz can of tomato sauce at the end, and it had plenty of redness. I also didn't add lime juice until I added the cilantro(Doubt that makes a difference). IT tasted just like salsa I had at a restaruant that day. Only thing is lime was too strong and flavor was missing something. I'll cut back to 1.5 lemon and only de-seed half next time. Maybe different onion.
Wow. cooking for the rest of us. You were HILARIOUS! You could sooo have your own show. Way better than that pretentious "Chew". I am now a loyal sub and gonna pass the word! Thanks, peace out! ps; some of the people leaving comments are gross! Grow up dudes!
Your Spanish is sexy enough which means you don't need to taste your cooking. Just one thing, roasted Chile pods would maybe give it a little more Spanish flavor? Btw, don't let anyone hold you back from your cooking skills. Some guys are blind and never been in a kitchen before.
You can fire the jalapeños until they are blackened and then rinse to remove skins and use as recipe calls for. You can use them with the blackened skins on too. You can also do a mixture of cooked and raw on every ingredient for depth of flavor... maybe not the cilantro :)
@1kperday Ha! Thanks for the compliment but you're kidding, right?! I'm working on a perfect roasted pepper salsa now - hmm, with roasted tomatoes, too? Sounds like a winner.
i didn`t know that limes never have any seeds ....i like your way of cooking you are very funny and i enjoyed that you weren`t all bleh about coookin you were energetiv i really LOVE salsa so this is gonna be good recipe
When i want a salsa smoothie i will use this recipe
😂 😂 😂 That's exectly what I was thinking.
its cool she brings humor to her cooking vids. Usually people are way to serious or overly nice making these videos
I love the Spanish introduction! Don't worry if it is not that good, it is very nice! And the salsa recipe is yummy. I want to dip those nachos!
I am mexican and blend in my nutribullet and it comes out good and if you want it more chunky don't blend it so much...she isn't being lazy, lazy would be getting everything from a can.

Awesome. Making it right now.

I tried your Mexican Pizza recipe, and I must say it's the best Mexican Pizza I have ever tasted. Everyone thought so as well. Thank you so much.
I am highly amused. Thank you for making and sharing this video!
this aint salsa. It's a tomato shake.
I always love cooking the salsa in a pan after you blended it, it's great.
if this means anything try oranges with your salsa instead of lemons like 8 jalepeinos large size put 3 medium size and if you do that the heat is like covered but like 3-5 seconds later the spice kicks in like a mule but the sweet of the oranges make it a sweet and spicy taste try it its good
Looks like you've made salsa a time or two! Yumm!
I love your freestyle presentation! Thanks for the great demonstration! I love the salsa I made!
@Luv2cookify Thank you! Sounds good.
Have you ever tried roasting the veggies prior to blending? Gives it a nice taste :)
I love the way you handled that jalapeño at the beginning of the video. ;)
+Mandy Roy dirty mind haha
+Mandy Roy hahahah.. wth I didn't realize that...too dirty mind.. lol
Thanks for sharing, never tried it in the blender before!
For all the people that say it looks like shit, you have to wait for the air bubbles to settle out. It eventually turns a bright red. If any of you have ever made salsa in a blender like they do at all restaurants, you would know this. She is funny.
Agreed. I add my tomatoes last to the blender so they don't get too liquefied. But this is a very tasty recipe!
Thank you! Happy to oblige. :)
LOL you are hilarious girl! great video!
I just made the most BAD ASS SALSA following your guid! ! Only i threw a Habanero in there and cooked the tomatos and chilis. . Its Awesome ! Do you have a recipe for Salsa with an avocado base ?
Great video! We also use blenders it makes thinks a lot quicker cooking salsa.
Great video. I'll try blending the garlic, onion and jalapeno, but hand chop the tomatoes.
How all cooking shows should be made. I love her attitude!
@Fancylooks Thanks!
I love hilah videos

my girl makes pretty bomb salsa and even though i dont cook, ive heard its important to cook the tomatoes first so its not all liquidity when you blend them. you might even have to add water after making it.
Fancy, Casual and just Crazy. You sure are bundle of joy ;)

Cute. I like your recipe.
Aww I miss Hilah!!
Btw, I made the vegetarian enchiladas with the guacamole... So fucking good!!! I crave it all the time.
You blatantly don't know the actual meaning of Asexual! Please educate yourself on the meaning of words before choosing to use them.
I use lemons. It works just as well.
Your Spanish is sexy enough which means you don't need to taste your cooking. Just one thing, roasted Chile pods would maybe give it a little more Spanish flavor?
