@King Reggie Lane Kiffin introduced his version of the Veer & Shoot in his 1st year at Florida Atlantic. In his 1st season, FAU was in the Top 5 in Total Offense, Points scored & Passing yards. It was one game in his 1st season in which the team amassed 800 yards of Total Offense.. no lie & that was unheard of. Plus once I buy this game on PS5 when the price goes down, I'll be using the V-&-S offense ^EDIT^ Keep in mind the OC on that Florida Atlantic team Lane coached in his 1st year was a guy that doesn't know how to sit his ass still & has beef he didn't want to address with Shadeur Sanders & Coach Prime: Kendall Briles
@905bucket5 air raid is literally take what they give you. Read grass. If that's to the hb every play on a flat or swing do it. If that's a speed out bc they're in c3 every play, do it.
Don't waste your time. Routes take forever to develop. If the defense runs man coverage and jams your receivers or sends a blitz, you're screwed. It's not what this guy's making it out to be.
Considering the entire point of the veer and shoot is stretching the field vertically and horizontally, and abusing gaps with RPO’s and standard gap rush schemes, the best defense is probably one that supports athletes over the top, and allows an aggressive blitz every now and then. Best defenses are probably a standard 4-2-6, so dime formation, with a lot of zone on the boundaries, and then let your best guys step up and make tackles when needed. There will almost always be an open man, so the core of the defense needs to stop the rush, sending 5 nearly every play to attempt to clog holes, and trying to make the offense run out of time. Again, if you don’t make proper adjustments, none of this matters, and there are certainly different alignments that can be as effective to containing the Veer and Shoot, but making tackles is the only way you can effectively stop it, so being as balanced as possible needs to be the goal, which is why I suggested the 4-2-6 formation with emphasis on cover 2 and ALOT of palms coverage, lock in with your safeties to make gap plays.
@ no worries. I knew what you meant because I also run a 4-2-5 scheme. It’s essentially just a nickel package, with the SS as the slot CB. I usually switch my package to slot CB though, when I’m going against someone who likes to pass it every down. I also really like the 4-4 split formation, out of this scheme as a great run stop and short yardage defense. Especially with there being so many great LBs in the game.
@@NarLyNaRdi I agree on your 4-4 point. LBs seem to have a decent bit of speed depending on which school you use, you can basically deny parts of the field with those guys. Also great if they use a scrambler, as you can get rid of open zones and make them take what you give them.
Try doing a fake Hot Route right before the snap. This will let you the outside way better. So like go onto your RB with the hot route witch will widen the camera then cancel the hot route and the camera will stay wide then snap it
@KingReggieMadden thank you !! I love the playbook and style but yeah, the camera angle makes it bad. Idk if my outside guys are getting separation or not and hard to read coverage once I move my eyes to the CB but can't see him till 3 seconds later

Hmmm yeah that’s interesting! I love you nuggets you drop
When the other vids come out Reggie for this scheme?
Next one today?l!
i actually stopped runnng this, the routes take forever to develop vs someone who sends pressure/man that jams them up
Same bro
@@905bucket5 I jumped back into the air raid and been cooking in there some
@ I can’t seem to find a consistent book but I think it’s just an lack of understanding of the air raid tbh

@@TWProductions90 team playbook you use and what formations do you prefer?
it really upsets me that when people talk about the Veer and Shoot nobody mentions UCF. Probably the most successful team to ever run it
Yesssss I been dabbling with veer and shoot lately

When that UConn offense for basketball coming lol
Wide stack all go can really mess with cover 2 and match
Oh yeah it can be nasty!
When's the next Belichek defense video?
Next week! Jumped over the NCAA for some offense the last but here
what’s best defense vs this

@@falcon1378Do you mean 4-2-5 or 3-2-6? A 4-2-6 equals 12.
@@NarLyNaRdi apologies, 4-2-5. I was thinking about dime coverage but forgot that would either be a 4-1 or a 3-2.

don't do ole miss boss, thats my playbook lmao
It's fun but wish the camera view was better.
It’s insane how we still can’t see the outside guys in the regular view
@luhRvck that's the one thing that makes me play this offense. I think it's so fun but bc how far wide out they are, it's almost impossible to see
