Thimbleberrry...one of my favorites, not many to be had, very soft and don't handle well but a very nice treat on the trail.
Often they have a slight metallic taste which makes them unique.

That definitely looks like thimbleberry to me. I am in northern Vermont, but it looks exactly like what I call thimbleberry. I hear that they are edible, but I haven’t eaten any. I don’t think they are even flowering here yet. I will try some when I see them. Thanks for your videos, they are great!

Dude, I'm on my 3rd time watching all of your birchbark canoe builds. I've been harvesting cedar to begin making ribs and sheathing this winter, and have bo less than a dozen trees picked out for bark harvesting this spring. Are you going to be putting out any more canoe videos anytime soon?

Yes. I will. Most likely more in April and May. I have some footage from harvesting spruce roots for canoe construction from last May. Not the best video, but I might edit it and throw it on the channel soon. It's been crazy busy for me so I could not invest as much time on my channel lately. Soon, more videos to come ! Thanks, Steve

Definitely thimbleberry. They’re very delicate, but super tasty. Similar taste to raspberry. You can’t really pick a lot of them because they fall apart if you handle them too much.
