That WCH Type 2 one at 1:16 is on Cross Road in Unley Park SA, just south of Adelaide, that and the other electronic bells have now almost taken over all of the crossings, started late 2000s and went on the Adelaide Metro lines starting with the Gawler line in 2012, I miss the old mechanical bells and only very few are left, in fact the only active crossing in SA still with the mechanical bells in the metropolitan area is Marion Road, Plympton
I quite miss the mechanical bells too, but unfortunately I never filmed a lot of the mechanical bells. I actually went past those ones at Plympton a few days ago, the dead one on the southern side has been fixed instead of being replaced, so it looks like they are here to stay :)
I really liked the westinghouse hybrid bell and the Mckenzie and holland tear drop bell. Sadly there's not many westinghouse hybrid bells left in Victoria. Most have been replaced with GS e-bells or replaced some WCH bells in NSW
The pinned comment on this video has a link to the newer version of this video, which includes the Safetran type 1. I do not know of any high tone type 3s in Australia.
Wow! Thanks everyone for making this video so popular. I now have an updated version of this video with more bells at ua-cam.com/video/cylSPQ2OarY/v-deo.html
Safetran type 3 electronic bell is my least favorite. It gets stuck in my head after hearing it all day.
Yeah, that happens when that bell is on practically every single crossing around you.
@@redhen334 the bell that gets stuck in my head is the safetran type 1

Yeah, Westinghouse Hybrids seem to be most numerous in Victoria but even they don’t have that much anymore.
Old mechanical bells are easily the best
What camera have you uses throughout the years? If you don't know, what do you use now?
I use camcorders for most videos but still use a phone sometimes.
the WCH 333 are in the NJT railroad crossings and stop ringing when the gates are down
Amazing! I didn’t expect a magnetic flagman to make it into this video but I suppose it counts because it’s still a bell
Victorian Rail Heritage Thanks! Yeah I think the gong on it pretty much counts as a bell.
Redhen Railcar SAR yeah
Andre Martens still in use or abandoned?
Wow, this is very helpful now I can do more stuff in my videos like talk about the crossing bells!!!
That’s awesome!
WCH Bells My favorite because Reminds of Union Pacific Railroad Crossings
Some of those types of bell I had never heard before.
Mark Taylor I’m glad you learned something new from this video :)
Favorite E-Bell: WCH
Favorite M-Bell: Bryant Zinc Co.
My favourite ebell is GS type 3
My favourite mbell is McKenzie and Holland 15-A newer Aluminium Version
Some Have American Base Bells
At one pedestrian railway crossing, there is a rare Dutch e-bell
Really? Where is it? I would love to see it.
Basically almost all of TheCrossing bells are used in America to
YEA BOY THE MAGNETIC WIGWAG IS ADDED MY FAVORITE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And I like the WCH type 2 because it sounds like new zealand
Where's Safetran Type 1 and Safetran Type 3 high tone? I watch one of videos that has Safetran Type 1 and Safetran Type 3 in Australia.

1:43 where is that crossing?
That's East Terrace, Strathalbyn on the Steamranger line.
@@redhen334 Cheers, though it looked familiar. Couldn't quite place it!
You forgot about the only 2 lasting unadjusted GS Type 1s
just letting ya know the locations.
Macaulay Rd, Kensington
I would have included them but sadly I haven’t recorded them :(
There are 4 unadjusted type 1s , 2 at Kensington, 1at park street moonee ponds and another at Hutton street thornbury

Redhen Railcar SAR why r you saying thanks this is awesome
A few of those bells American
Wow similar to the American railroad crossing
Why do these look so familiar to American ones it’s kind of weird
Because most of the bells are the exact same ones they use in America.
Interesting, I am glad we don't have the Barker Technics in the USA. In my opinion they sound horrible but anyways nice video keep up to good work!
Joseph's Trains Thanks! I personally am a fan of then but most people seem to have a strong opinion about them which is fine.
They're mostly gone now
They all sound the same!
Not if you have the mental capacity to distinguish them, your brain might be too small to do that :)
Jk don’t kill me
Redhen Railcar SAR Lmao 😆
Nice!
Trainman 7 I got a question. Is your new profile picture of your black and white booms from before they went into your collection?
Yep!
WHC type 2 is the best 👊😈
I Like WCH 333
I Don’t Understand ):
You might one day.
