Hey buddy, I recieved my Tempest 120 in july. But I did change the color to Blue lagoon. When I did that, they reminded me to not let the driver go. I opened it, checked everything I could. The only thing I noticed was, to go over every screw, and nut and bolt, and tighten them up. Besides that, arrived beautiful, and not a scratch. I know the impulse is having bad drive issues, and that's the boat I wanted. The kayak is beautiful, seems very strong, and the installs they did, seem excellent. I think now there really pushing them out very fast. Last year, I waited 8 months. Now, you recieve it in a week or two. They should've, replaced that rudder. Good luck.🎣🙏

I had the exact same seat issue, and front hatch leaking. i also had the rudder handle fall off completely after one trip. I ended up adding a longer bolt and a nut and havent had that issue again. Love the kayak though, especially for the price

I have had my tempest 120p for 3 weeks now, I have the same issue as you with the seat not fitting after removing it, I also got the drop down style rudder that they assembled before shipping and the 2 original holes for the original disc on top were not plugged, so I took on a good bit of water, also after I put the pdl drive in the lock that’s in the middle doesn’t go over the drive, definitely need some quality control but I still enjoy the kayak.

I’ve heard others having issues with the cover over the pedal drive! I think most of the issues are from cutting corners on there end! I know they aren’t the most expensive kayak on the market but quality kills a product!

Hey Brandon, I tried for 2 day's thinking, this is the wrong seat. Then I called Hoodoo. They told me to hold the seat with the back up, and on an angle. Start one bolt, then turn the seat, and fit it into the other. I did that, and used WD-40 on my tracks. Fits everytime now, and slides easily. They said, it's supposed to fit tight, for safety on the water. If you ever get there trolling motor or a bixpy, this boat flies, through the water. I have both. I use one or the other. When researching my 1st kayak, I wanted the Vibe seaghost 110. I knew I'd be adding a bixpy or a Torqueedo. The Tempest hull, and most of the deck is almost identical. The Impulse hull matches the Bonafide 107. But I love mine, and every kayak needs adjustments from there owner. They are trying especially now to put them out so fast. Thus sport really exploded, when Covid hit.. Be safe bro. 🎣🙏🤟

    1st...
This kayak is made in China. Hoodoo buys them for about $500. When it arrives the lables are put on but there is an option to order them from China with the lables on. that's why it takes 3 months to get one.
It's the same kayak as the BKC PK-12 - same as Midwest Watercraft RP120 - Affordable Adventures 12. Do an image search using the kayak.
    2nd...
IT DOES NOT HAVE "ANCHOR TROLLIES". Those strings on the side are just deck rigging or places to clip an anchor line.
    3rd..
This kayak is next to impossible to troll with using front mounted rod holders because the pedals will hit anything mounted on the front tracks.
    4th...
The seat is comfy when you test it but you better set padding on it if you plan on using it for longer than an hour at a time.
    5th...
Replace all the buttons with hooks!
    6th...
Zip tie the back and center hatches to the bungee or add a string / leash to them. (THE COVER(S) WILL FLY OFF IN TRANSPORT!)
    *MOST IMPORTANT!*
DO NOT BUY THIS KAYAK IF YOU'RE CLOSE TO OR ABOVE 200 POUNDS!
Tip: use a rear mounted rudder system but you'll have to extend it to get it to steer right.
Watch my video titled "GETTING RID OF MY PEDAL KAYAK" I go over most of these issues and I've owned over 100 different kayaks of all types, brands, sizes and models.
I hope this helps you and your viewers who own our plan on getting any of these kayaks.

Only issue I've had so far on my Voyager was that I cannot get the end caps back on the accessory rails, I have to remove the rail, which is inconvenient and not good on the middle screw as I am probably just screwing it in and out too much. Also, the traction pads came off on one side during a rain we had because I was keeping the yak at my parent's house and I accidentally left the plugs in and when I told them they didn't take them out, my second time out I purposely left the plugs out because I wanted the water to keep me cool and sure enough the pad on the other side came up. It was also on this trip that I decided to buy a paddle holder because that bungee cord was already showing signs of wear. So I attached the yakattach offset rod holder and attempted to take the yak out without the pedal drive in and it was extremely hard because I had to move the seat all the way forward to get my feet to rest on where I guess they should be on this kayak (I'm 5'7) and then the paddle kept hitting the offset rod holder, no matter where I put it on the track. It has not been an enjoyable experience so far. I can understand why I have seen them for sale on marketplace almost brand new.

Make sure you drop the rudder plate. There’s a screw in the rudder. Remove it so the plate can drop and then put the screw from the reverse side so it doesn’t tighten the gap, but keeps the rudder from going all the way up. That rudder needs to move up and down freely automatically when it hits something . This will decrease your turning radius, by catching more water.

  • @anthonyvespia6662

Hey bud, few more thing's. They told me to turn the seat start one knob, then turn it and the 2nd will go right in. That worked. I have already sealed to layers of gasket on my hatches, and drive cover. I have the 46lb thrust Hoodoo fitted Trolling motor. I also have the Bixpy J2 on my rudder. My vessel came with the drop down rudder. I push my plugs all the way in. I use one motor or the other. Not a drop of water comes in my cockpit. But with all the research I've done on feel free, bonafide, vibe, even the over priced Hobie. All owners, are doing as we are, tighten screws, adding gaskets, minor issues all around. The Hoodoo was 5 star rated, especially the tempest. I see no reason to upgrade. I fish large FW lakes and reservoirs, and she's been a great vessel. This is my 1st. I'm 5ft 7 151 lbs. I can stand anywhere, she's fast, stable, etc. There is no perfect kayak. But I think for the price, and there a 2 year company. They'll make the adjustments, like every company does. Be safe my friend..

That's great. Mine really cuts through the water. Just the PDL Drive alone easy pedal does approx 3.7 mph, and the instant reverse is nice. If you look at the hull closely and compare it to the vibe seaghost 110, it's the same boat. And there impulse is the exact setup as the bonafide ss. But it has drive issues. Glad I went with the tempest. 12ft is perfect, and 34 inches wide. I love it. Be safe.🙏🎣🤟

Then they pay a few thousand for shipping. Alot of the Chinese companies only sell in orders of 20 or more. Find 20 guys to go in on an order and you'll be set
