  • The site of a ghost town which was lost at the turn of the century, mysterious Glastenbury Mountain is located just outside of Bennington, Vermont. The vast wilderness is host to many legends, among them tales of a "man-eating" rock and several Bigfoot sightings. The area is also the location of several unexplained disappearances over the years, one of which lead directly to the formation of the Vermont State Police. Legend Hunter Jeff Belanger explored the ruins of the lost ghost town Fayville to find out more...

I've lived in Vermont since I was 17 yrs old.. I'd never heard of Bigfoot nor seen anything like it in my life.. I've seen black bears stand on their hind feet take a few steps but always returning to their 4 legged walk.. I married my husband in 1967 & had 3 children from 1970 to 1972.. there are only two lane roads in the state except for the interstate I89 which goes from I91 in Mass into I89 and winds its way clear to Canada.. we lived in Windsor VT centered next to the Connecticut River nestled against Mt Ascutney.. it's a truly beautiful place to live.. the people are friendly even with their New England quirks.. it's a place you'd bring up your children, let them walk to & from school.. never had to lock your cars or house's.. for everyone knew everybody for generations.. but one year changed my life forever. You see my husband was a hunter.. we drove to Richford VT to his cousins house & he & his cousin would hunt buck or doe for the two weeks we stayed there.. he knew every track an animal would leave & enjoyed the sport.. so on that fateful afternoon coming back from Reading VT it was a typical day maybe 80° nice breeze.. we were talking when I approached a long swinging corner.. I had slowed a bit but when I'd reached the straight there was an animal in the center of the road.. I came to a stop just yards from it we both thought it was a bear as it was hunched over with it's back to us.. I honked the horn a couple of times but to no avail the creature continued doing it's thing.. until it started standing up & up & up.. it had to have been 9 foot tall.. maybe 800lbs my husband said.. reddish brown shaggy fur.. then it turned around.. neither of us could speak as it eyed us it was very apparent that whatever it was, was intelligent.. it was a male but the largest animal I'd ever seen close up & my husband was as shocked as I was at the sight of the thing..(not being disrespectful) it eyed us for maybe a minute or two looking directly into each of our eyes.. then turned took a step towards the side of the road and one step it was on the grass another step it was going into what the hunters called pucker brush because it had thorns two inches long or better & it made you pucker for the pain it inflicted.. then the animal was just gone.. we sat there, I don't even know how long afterwards but a car came up behind us & I had to start moving.. we didn't speak of it until the next day we were trying to wrap our minds around what we had witnessed.. years later I came across a book by Ivan Sanderson about a large humanoid animal named Sasquatch or Yeti or Bigfoot.. that's when I realized what we had seen.. I rushed home to show my husband what I had found & from then on we watched the sides of the roads and looked in fields.. but never saw the creature or others again.. I'm truly thankful for what we saw that day as it made me realize that there is more to this world than we could ever imagine.. we never told anyone about our encounter till years later feeling like no one would believe us anyway..

Being from New England, Ma. I spent a lot of time in the N,E. Woods. I was building a retirement home along the Connecticut River, in Lunenberg, Vt. I wound up in Fl. at age 70. I recall hunting with a friend in Beartown State Forest, Ma. 20 years ago. We picked up the ads and of the Appalachian trail, we came soon a rise in the land, the remnants of a foundation and a root cellar, at my feet were three small grave stones. All the same family, all from 1720 I believe. A Father in his early 30s a Mother in her late 20s and a child around 8 yrs old. I don't know how the died, but they were all together for eternity. It brought home how easy we have it today, me and my friend hunted all day, came home EMPTY ! We went back to my trailer, nuked a frozen entry and watched videos of movies in my heated mobile home. How tough was it for these brave intrepid forebearers of OURS ? For a brief moment,we connected ! I love takes of New England !

Hiking the LT in the 90’s, we got to the shelter early, I went off exploring down a side trail. I was probably a half mile away from the shelter. I started having an overwhelming feeling that I was being watched, I heard what can be best described as metal clinking. I remember I ran back as fast as I could. To this day I don’t think I ever felt so uncomfortable. Coming across this stuff years later and realizing that it’s the same mountain with all these stories is pretty wild.

It is eerie in the woods. One summer I worked and lived at a small golf course at Cloudcroft, New Mexico. My place was at the edge of the village and driving to my tiny condo at night and getting out my car was frightening. I would go to hike during the day, yet I always sensed I was not alone. It was strange, bruh.

So I belong to a search and rescue and have SAR k9. Did not know the area we were searching was in this area. We had a lot of weird thing happen that night. I fell 20 plus feet down a very steep slop unharmed, but there were no marks or stains on my gear showing I had slid at all. 2 other people on my crew watched this happen and was sure I got hurt. But nothing, I was perfectly fine. Walking out of the area it felt like a heavy whiegh was on my shoulders. And swear I seen a dark object next to me but when I aimed my light there was a white birch tree. Also had a very tangent like wet animal kinda rotten smell. When we got back home found out we were in the Bennington triangle very close to the missing hiker that went missing. All in all we talked on our way home and all agreed we will never search there at night ever again.

We absolutely have Sasquatch everywhere in the USA, they move in and out of the big cities and people have no idea for the most part. My nephew had one take his basketball and throw it far into the woods then followed him to the ball and when my nephew heard the steps he ran home and never went back to play basketball on the edge of the woods. He said he shot the ball and it missed, it was a long shot a 3 and when he got to where the ball should have been it wasn’t there and he looked up it was like 150 feet up the path. He said it would have taken him three tosses to make it to That spot and on The way he heard footsteps mirroring his so he stopped and it took one extra step and he heard it very loudly and ran home and told me. This is on the corner of Riverview and D avenue in parchment Michigan this is 2 miles from being in downtown city.

From everything I"ve read I've come to realize that there are many creatures and objects (like rocks) that have intelligence in the forests. Ancient tales of little people and other creatures is absolutely true but I also think there is energies that makes people go into a parallel dimensions. Something like a crack in reality or convergence of energies causes people to disappear even though they haven't moved or walked off. David Paullides, on his new channel, read a letter about a man who came out of his house and expected to see his wife on the walkway where he had left her. He was only inside for a couple minutes so he went about doing whatever it was he was doing and went inside again. He came out again and she was standing where he had left her. According to her she hadn't moved at all but to him, she wasn't there. So what happened? Did she temporarily get displaced in space or did he? If so then how and why?..p.s. I like how in the video at 6:25 there's a sasquatch structure in the foreground. (or what looks like one)

Apparently Paula started really freaking her out so she ran towards her car and when she looked behind her Paul wasn't there.
