I really appreciate your videos. I adopted a rescue dog 2 months ago. The vet think he's a mix of Mastiff and Chow Chow. At first I tried the treat approach and Pollyanna positivism (never say no to a dog! Always be upbeat, happy and positive!) they are adamant of at the shelter, but he figured out pretty quickly he could have the bad behavior, stop, look at me and get a treat! Things started to deteriorate rapidly... Now things are much better. To my surprise he likes being on leash inside, he is much calmer. Also, he seems to respect me more when I calmly say no instead of trying to fake a happy smile. I guess I have a lot to learn from him!

Thank you for the feedback. We are all learning in our journey of life so don't feel bad for learning. I don't mind spoiling and saying yes to my dogs as long as i provide their daily needs and also I don't feel saying no to them because...well, watch this video for to learn why: ua-cam.com/video/b7zxVAZ_okg/v-deo.htmlsi=DoxcaKIISq1nTq_b

Thank you😊Ruby is walking better everyday. I stopped using the retractable leash. I love how my beagle sniffs so much and we don’t walk very far in 30 minutes.😂

hi! i hope you will also talk about half prong collors? or leaches to use. do you think a martigale half prong is bad for a big dog? he doesnt pull but he does chase squirrels when we walk

I don't suggest using and depending on many tools overall. I like to work on the training and improve the brain (internal) rather than the body (external). To stop the chasing squirrels, you need to practice and create controlled situations with toys that look like squirrels at home to control the dog before trying it in the real situation.

My dog comes from a shelter and pulls on the leash. He is particularly reactive to other dogs, but not aggressive. In addition to applying your helpful tips, I’ve started going on socialization walks with other dogs to desensitize him. What do you think of a halter to help me control him until he’s more used to it? He’s a boxer/labrador cross and quite big. I’m having trouble handling him.

I try avoiding using tools and depending on them because first they cause some form of physical pain and second, they make you rely on them for a long time. So, instead, I suggest practicing the techniques and the ideas that I shared in the video with your dog in a calmer environment and controlled areas for some time and then trying them in real settings.

I have explained in the video how to deal with the leash pulling. For off leashing, I may be doing a complete video lesson soon but you can watch this now: ua-cam.com/video/N5CzYl_xG0k/v-deo.htmlsi=4govtEikJ10UCuLi
