Ned, I've watched a handful of your videos, which are always informative, but what keeps me coming back is how excited you get. Its infectious. Please never stop sharing your joy with us.
Nice concept. I’ve done some similar things with Ableton synths and fx, but instead of mapping one parameter to one macro I’ve mapped different parameters with slightly different values to the same macros. For instance mapping one lfo time from min 1/16 to max 1/4 and on the same macro another lfo from min 1/3 - max 1/3 and also a lot of other stuff. By doing this you get a lot of unique unpredictable polyrhythmic sounds. Sometimes I also limit myself to use only 4 macros and just map a bunch of stuff but being really specific about the ranges.
I recreated the patch on your track 3 at 10:00 This extreme phasey, spectral, spaceship thing. This sound has a huge influence on my head. It gives me a sensation of whole-body-spinning. Crazy
Insane.. Whole worlds in every rack. Videos like this really demonstrate what an amazing, endless sandbox of sound experimentation Ableton can be if you want it to.
Again, mr Rush this is so much fun! Using the Spectral Resonator in Granular mode gets you some ethereal, watery, birdy kind of sounds that get quite scary after listening to it right before you go to sleep.
I skipped the video to the last seconds to hear what we will get, and now I am so baffled that I felt the urge to comment. This sounds awesome. Horror pure.
Even after a long day composing and designing, your vids still inspire me but more importantly, make me laugh. Much love dude and thanks for these great vids!
i absolutely love your ableton videos, honestly some of the most entertaining music production based videos on youtube. thank you for being a constant source of inspiration! :)
If you want to midi-quantise the resonator to a certain key then you can use the bcResonCtrl1.1 M4L device and use a midi-clip to dictate the notes/key.... Still gotta find a way to incorporate that into an AudioFXrack pres-set though.... Perhaps just save the composite channel strip(s) as a pre-set instead...? There's also a 3rd party update of the Resonator device (by Sonic Bloom I think) which is a more sophisticated 1 device version of the above concept... Could be a less 'messy' way to do it.
Amazing! Although you keep making me come away from my Elektron boxes, (Syntakt and Digitone) to mess around with Ableton ...Might have to sell them haha. That Resonator section is awesome, can create some really beautiful stuff. Keep up the videos dude!
Great stuff as always! Could someone explain to me why he also adds the crackle volume to the macro's? I think it's better to just have the same volume everytime and let all the other devices do the random things right?

I agree. the perfect inspiration to create is watching someone so passionately create! Amazing stuff
"quick and easy": 43 long minute video. thank you ned rush
This channel is currently the most inspirational thing in the world for me. Thank you for all this amazing content

Let’s hear Paul Allen’s delay chain.
Thank God for the intro, I thought it was going to be music...
You’re insane in the most delightful and entertaining way

Magnificent. The closing section was like a bunch of demented harmoniums.
My expectation for the next video will be NedRush=Dope Beats, of course.
Ned Rush=Pope Eats
Ned Rush=Soap Cleats
Ned Rush=Rope Teats
Golly gee this randomization sure is fun!

Your videos are an inspiration. Every single one makes me want to open Ableton and make some wacky stuff.
I was mapping stuff and went for hours, going WOW! and couldn't stop, then I landed on this video.😅
Such a legend,. Incredibly useful and inspiring. Well worth the watch and followalong. Thanx Ned!

Horror pure.
Now for the whole run.
Loving this season of "Doctor Rush and his Sonic Noise Box".
Great ideas. I had a lot of fun trying them out.
Instead of vinyl distortion you could also use echo and use the noise feature to get more low stuff
Now mix those with filters and delays ououou
flute loops in the chat

A lot of it honestly sounds like something Daveed Diggs would rap over

My 3-year old child looked up to me during this and said, "this sounds like a QR code in musical form." Those were her first words.
