    Hi Kwan
    thanks so much for the info especially the Paris 2024 Pass.
    We have seen a lot of videos about buying and using metro/RER tix but you are the first we have seen to highlight the above pass.
    We have just ordered it online to be delivered to Australia physically for about 5 Euros extra.
    We think that you have saved us a lot of hassle Thanks again

      Glad this could help! Also for reference, this is good info on the app and what phones are compatible for the future:
      parisbytrain.com/navigo-pass-iphone-app-android-app/
      For some phone users I’ve read, it can be a bit finicky, but with the physical card, it’ll be nice since you won’t have to worry about things like network issues or if the app doesn’t tap on correctly. Have a great trip!

    Thxs only knew this watching your video regarding the buy and shipped to me 🙏🏻 it's actually more value because the prices will double during Olympics. The pass gets me to zone 5 on Metro and rer. No hassle and received it in a week ! Now I don't need to stress about queuing and getting pickpocketed ! I can go to Versailles and Disneyland and airport, thx you

    Great info. But which is the best for us? We'll be there 17-20 august, arrive at CDG getting the RER, one day to Versailles, and hanging out in the city, and visit Montmartre( dont know which zone )Only the paris 2024 at the apps?, or will be day pass? Its a little confuse for me. Or can we pirchase the navigo card in the app from Mexico, and add tickets cheaper at this time? I understand t+ tickets includes RER from CDG or to Versailles? sorry TIA🥴

      This is a good site to go over it as well: parisbytrain.com/paris-2024-travel-pass/
      There will be no regular unlimited Day Pass July 20-September 8 - the day pass will be the Paris 2024 Pass for this time.
      Ok, so I'll try to explain the pricing during this time if you purchase while there.
      Olympic Pricing for regular tickets (July 20 - Sept 8)
      CDG with RER B to the City (€16 one way, €32 round trip)
      Versaille is in Zone 4 (will need Origine-Destination ticket €6 one way, €12 round trip)
      Montmartre is in Zone 1 (Regular t+ ticket €4 one way, €8 round trip)
      So t+ ticket will only cover Montmartre (Zone 1) and other places in central Paris. It will not cover Airport RER or Versaille. Those two require a more expensive ticket that I priced above.
      Paris 2024 Pass will include Zones 1-5 and CDG, so if you buy it you can use it from the airport to the city and back to the airport. And then to Versaille and back. And Montmartre will be ok of course.
      A 4 day Paris 2024 Pass will be €52 now or then.
      I know it can be confusing, but hope that helps.
      You can try to buy it on the app, but not sure if you can do it outside of France. Here is a site to help do that: parisbytrain.com/navigo-pass-iphone-app-android-app/
      You can buy regular t+ tickets before July 20th and save money, but depending on when you go to Versaille, it might be better to do the Paris 2024 Pass to get the discounts with more days and airport included. Just depends on your itinerary.

    Is the pass 24 hours or day specific? For example, if I activate a 2 day pass on a Thursday at 11:00, will it be valid until Saturday at 11:00 (24 hrs) or only Thursday and Friday (day specific)?

    • @frenchcrawl

      I believe it ends at midnight based in days. So if you started using it on Thursday at 11am, it will end midnight on Friday. Two consecutive days. Not two 24 hour periods.
      Per their site:

    Ill be arriving at CDG July 25th and leaving via Orly the 28th. If my research is correct, my best options are basically either this pass or buying the 10x T+ combo tickets at 17 euros and have em loaded on to a navigo easy card.
    As you mentioned in other comments, it is possible to buy the 10x tickets right now (to avoid olympic price hike) and buy a physical navigo card on arrival at the airport for 2 euros, correct? That would allow me to get by during Olympics at "normal" prices, right? Just want to confirm wether I can buy the tickets right now and grab the physical card and charge it upon arrival on the airport.
    Lastly, considering that I would need transportation from CDG to hotel and hotel to Orly, which one would you recommend? The 10x bought beforehand or this pass for 4 days (which seems to be 52 euros if im not mistaken according to the website). Thanks!

    • @frenchcrawl
      @frenchcrawl  2 місяці тому

      So if you're coming in on the 25th the prices of the carnet (10 x t+ tickets) is going to cost €32 at that point in person.
      The only way you can get the €17 for a ten pack is if you buy them before July 20th (at the normal price). I'm not sure if you can do that outside of France. You can try via the app, but I've heard people had difficulty doing that. Otherwise, if you know someone there who can get one for you beforehand then that's another way.
      Here's a guide for the app: parisbytrain.com/navigo-pass-iphone-app-android-app/
      Also the t+ ticket is only for travel inside of Zone 1. If you need to go from one zone to another, the one way price is going to be €6 for an Origine-Destination ticket for all various zone to zone travel (Zones 1-5).
      Tickets from and to the airport are going to be €16 one way as well during that time frame (can't use a t+ for those since it's in a different zone).
      So if you think you can get the ten pack somehow at the €17, you just have to consider that your two tickets to and from the airports will cost €32. Not knowing your itinerary (if you're going to other zones etc for events or leisure), you just have to figure out how much traveling you're doing. If it's just within the city center, zone 1, then t+ tickets are just fine. You can load up to 30 tickets on an Easy Pass.
      At €52 for the Paris 2024 Pass for 4 days), you'll be able to get to and from CDG and Orly (€32 right there) and then anywhere else inside of Zones 1-5. CGD and Orly travel is included on the Paris 2024 Pass they said.
      The key really is having the ability to buy normal tickets before July 20th, airport tickets, outside zone travel, and then the convenience of what the Paris 2024 Pass offers. Hope that helps.

      @@frenchcrawl OMG Thank you for such detailed response! So to see if I got this right:
      If I go with 10x T tickets plus airports ticket bought separately since of course they are not within zone 1 im basically looking at a 49 euro total (17.35 euro for the T tickets assuming im able to grab em before July 20th plus 32 euro for transportation from CDG to hotel and hotel to Orly).
      If i go with the paris 2024 pass for 4 days im looking at a flat fee of 52 euros that includes the transportation I need from CDG to hotel and hotel to orly AND also unlimited transportation around paris on every single zone?
      If thats the case, for a 3 euro difference (49 vs 52) it seems like a no brainer to me and the 2024 pass is the absolute winner here, right? or am i missing something?
      Two last questions:
      1) Just out of curiosity, are airport tickets also increasing during the olympics? Google maps seems to show the RER tickets at 11.80 EUR (CDG to Gare Du Nord station, close to my hotel).
      2) The website for the 2024 pass does imply ticket coverage to both CDG and Orly, but it only says "to", not "from", any clue as to wether both ways are covered on both airports?

      @@frenchcrawl So if I am going to Stade de France, that is zone 2 and the pre-bought T+ ticket wouldn't work. If I am understanding your (by the way very helpful) video correctly, then the advantage of the Paris 2024 Pass is that all zones are covered.

    • @frenchcrawl
      @frenchcrawl  2 місяці тому +1

      @@kwhitt841 that’s correct.
      The t+ ticket covers zone 1, so central Paris. Stade de France is outside of that, so you’d normally get a point to point ticket called a Origine-destination ticket.

      @frenchcrawl  3 місяці тому +2

      Here’s a good link to see all the info about a monthly pass: parisbytrain.com/paris-train-metro-week-pass-navigo-decouverte/
      Scroll down to Navigo Month Pass
      Monthly passes with a Découverte card (only way to get it as a non-resident) only cover each month (first day to last day of a month, even if you buy it later in the month), not a 30-31 day period like your example of July 15-August 15.
      You can buy a monthly pass for July before July 20th. Anything you buy July 20th and on will activate on August 1st for the full month of August.
      You buy a monthly pass with a Découverte card, which they will stop selling on July 20th through September 8th. So if you’re there before the 20th you can still get it. Or if you already have a découverte card you can load it onto your phone and purchase later.
      If you’re in Paris July 15th to August 15th. Buying a monthly pass for July and August (so 2 months total) would be the cheaper method of travel vs 4 weeks of Paris 2024 passes. This is actually what I’ll be doing.
