Hell yea the 900 whp club, Im not really an h pipe guy, but I know that's what cobras have stock and it still sounds good with those 3 inch Bassani's. edit a lot of us are shouting "STINGERS"
Don't personally know if its true or not.... But I have always heard that an H-pipe will make more tq than an X, but that an X will make more power than an H.... your tq appears to be up from 5k rpm to 6,400 rmp with the H-pipe, even though the power is down a little? Also even though the bassanis are 3". I think they are still a touch more restrictive than the flow through of the others? Car sounds GOOD, and had you not had the belt slip issue on the first pull, I think it would have been even closer results? Thanks for the content! Keep up the good work brother!
So I’ve got the 1 7/8” Arh with off road x pipe and Borla Stingers which are 2.5” I believe. With a gen 5 whipple 3.0 and cams upgrading to a 3 inch cat back isn’t worth it???
I'm thinking maybe the boost dropped because the exhaust flows better and is more efficient overall? Same as long tubes and cams dropping boost going half inch larger on exhaust all the way back on a car that is at this level may actually lower boost maybe you need to repulley accordingly to take full advantage of the exhaust.
Yeah but boost is only the measurement of resistance, when you lose boost by adding headers for instance its because the engine is expelling the gasses faster and using more of the available boost resulting in less boost and more power. He's making less power so I'm thinking the new exhaust is less efficient at creating the scavenging effect of the xpipe design
Still hard to gauge if there's any power difference between 2.5"; and 3" pipes until you get the boost back to the same as your 932 pull. Although I think Bassanis sound just fine, I still prefer Borla Stingers given a choice between the 2.
I agree...if boost dropped with no other changes it's almost certainly more efficient just need to pulley accordingly to take advantage of the exhaust being more efficient.
@@Lethal_Venom I know what your saying, most likely you won't do this with a car like that, you either cover it or garage it, in my mind I'm thinking you mean that it's undrivable do to the rear wheel drive getting stuck in the snow, & I know guys personally who drive their rear wheel drive all winter long, so that's my take on what you were stating.
@@djsthemetereman No my take on what I said was that I would never in 100,000 years ever consider under any circumstances drive my Cobra in the snow and during the winter months. That's absolutely ridiculous.
Yep that's exactly why, for turbos and superchargers you need a little restriction to my knowledge, the bigger free flow exhaust works on na's engines better
I’m surprised those Bassani mufflers are like a duel chamber design. I wonder if that’s creating some back pressure! I know the standard 2.5 stainless Bassani are a straight through style muffler. Not the runs canister like the magnapacks just the typical look! None the less awesome car as always!
Larger exhaust prob drops it some too honestly. The boost needs to be the same on both to accurately compare if boost dropped with the 3 inch exhaust its prob working more efficiently and needs to spin faster to really benefit or show the gains.
Beautiful car. Don't make the mistake of selling it. You'll never be able to find one as nice 15-20 years from now.
I understand your frustration. Trying to test a theory and nothing goes according to the plan.
Hey dude !
You didn't lose any horsepower and it sounds better. I'd call that a win. As long as you can still go over speed bumps 😉
I agree with all your points , to a tee.. by the way , born and raised in Manchester NH, for 27 years 👍 now in Florida 46 now
Less boost with a supercharger is usually an indication of more flow/better extraction maybe? If it made same or better numbers anyways

I'm not a fan of x-pipes myself. the H-pipe rumble will forever be in my heart
Sick bro! Stock bottom end! Awesome! Hoping to get close to what you’re making to the ground 🤘Looking forward to ordering the wheels from you soon!!

He’s always had the H pipe tho. He had it before and after the 3” bassani cat back.

Hey man, just started watching your videos. Hoping to get my cobra here soon and he’s got 700whp. Do you have a built motor or is it stock ?
Stock bottom end
The bassanis still sounds better. Even if it didn't make any extra power.

What’s your fuel injector duty cycle at? Im not sure if I should go 1050x or the 1300x. Big price difference between the two.
1300x2 is the way to go if you plan for 800+
My tuner was on fence about the 1300 at first, but is confident now that it's the right pick
Exactly what I didn’t want to hear lol. I’m shooting for 800 but would like some room for more. Love the content keep it up.

Winter is coming....and it totally sucks. I'm going to miss my cobra for 6 months
Hey you don't have to, put a good ceramic coating on it, & put on snow tires & you drive right through the winter

Sweet ride. Is there a possibility of you making less boost because you went to 3"? Seems like there would be less restrictions
Definitely a possibility. Different weather conditions also results in slightly different boost output

what lower crank pulley are you running
Factory caged lower

What tensioner did you replace yours with? Thanks
Factory
Any plans for the car from here? Would love to see your cobra break 1k in the future
I joked with the tuner about that...
He said he "wouldn't try pushing it any further on stock internals"
I made the same change 2003 mustang cobra with kenne kell but in less power 740hp at the wheel I dont gain any power .
What belt is that your running I seen you pulled the green belt off
Just a spare belt the tuner had out back
Cool , thanks content, almost can't believe its the same car,you spoiled your self rotten,,,cool shit, 😀⚡🖐️
It sounds like people cheering after every pull lol
Is this with stock heads or ported heads?
Stock untouched heads. Factory headgasket
What about straight pipe?
I'll try 3" straight thrus next season
Intervention302 sweet! Can't stop watching the vids!!
Throw some borla stingers on it see if you gain hp
Is that a stock motor
Cams and headstuds
X pipe all day man
if u put a x pipe on it why did u put mufflers on it a x pipe is a stright pipe
Easy fix to me is to jus simply put it back the way you had it sometimes if it sint broke dont fix it 🤷🏽♂️
Headers will drop boost pressure.
Headers were the same bro

H pipe all day x pipe is more ricer sounding.
H pipe better for torque and that's what I run as well
Can tell by the way the rollers spun / torque etc) not a 900 rwhp car. No way
OK you must know more than the dyno guy. When you opening your shop up?
