I used a Canon G9 camera for this, but I would advice you to look at the Canon G15 as the G9 is an obsolete model by now. There is also a Canon housing for this model. The G15 has the option to use zoom while filming, the G9 does not have that. Also the G15 is full HD.

Tks for your sharing. I've got a G12 and housing now. However the outcome of the pictures are not so satisfactory especially when the sunlight is now strong enough.

G12 is a great camera, so pictures should be good. I always use Aperture mode (A) for available light so I can control the amount of exposure. This gives good results. Using the internal flash is not so great, for best results buy an external flash (sea&sea YS01 is nice). Keep trying, practice makes perfect !

De bumphead parrotfish, wow, om zo'n school tegen te komen! De scherpte van je video is onveranderlijk goed en ook de lichtkleur is goed, totdat het object iets te dichtbij komt, wat voor lamp gebruik je? E'en of twee? Complimenten van duikend stel.

Ja, dat is een mooie belevenis. De school Parrotfish slaapt 's nachts op het wrak van de USR Liberty in Tulamben. Als je 's morgens heel vroeg (5 uur opstaan) bent, dan kom je ze tegen. De hele video is met een Canon G9 gemaakt (een fototoestel dus) en als lamp heb ik een Bonica 1500 lumen LED video lamp gebruikt. Al met al dus niet echt een professionele video setup, ik doe normaal alleen fotowerk (knaake.nl).

Hi Micheal,
Snorkling is nice everywhere, but most of my video is shot between 10 and 20 meters depth. If you really want to experience the beauty of the ocean, try to do a scuba course and learn to dive. Anyway, have fun on Bali and enjoy your snorkling! Ask the diveschool at your resort for tips where the best sites are to swim and snorkle.
