A Day as an English Teacher in Japan | JET Program

- In this video I'll be taking you through a typical day as an assistant language teacher on the JET Program! I teach elementary and junior high school students at six (6!) schools in rural Hyogo Prefecture, and while this was only filmed at one of the schools, I'd say it's a pretty average day overall.
For a little more insight into a couple of the things in this video check out these blog posts!

Thanks for making these videos! I'm moving to Japan in August as a JET ALT. I also love your editing style!
Ahhh that's great! I hope some of these will be useful for you ahaha
Your lifestyle looks so chill. This is what I’m aiming for.
That was so well edited!! Very enjoyable to watch.
Thanks for sharing! Hyogo prefecture looks incredibly beautiful, and the production value/editing of this video is top-notch.
Wow I really like your editing/format on your videos ! Gives like a cinematic feel to it😊😊
This was nice..great editing/filming.
Thank you!
(Ya giiiiirl Shauna!) These videos are excellent, Jackie! They are 1000% more concise than other "Day in the Life" vids, and they're still super helpful! Beautiful editing btw. Your room looks adorable.
Wonderful editing & your video was so helpful!!! 😊🤩 I’m thinking about doing the JET program in a few years. I better start learning some Japanese ;)
Congratulations to your third video. If I wouldn't have seen the other two beforehand I might have thought that you did this for a longe time.
As for me I would like to see more about the living in this rural area^^
-What can you do at daytime or at night(evening).
- Restaurants, local fast food, Pub's and food related
- what cultural opportunities are available there (museums, galleries, liberties, special cultural events)
- and last but not least since you have a car and a beautiful nature surrounding you (I love the mountains and all the trees) you could show us some villages, walk up the mountains, show us more of the great view, walk down trails, shrine's for example or other sight's..
Well I'm sorry for my long post filled with things most people might find boring written in a not so good English;)
Anyways good luck for your future and the further development of this channel.
Thank you for your thoughtful comment! I'll be doing my best to put out as much as possible before I leave ❤️
Ayyee I'm also going to start teaching on the JET program for elementary-junior high in the rural countryside! Thanks for making this video
Ahhhh I hope you have so much fun!!
Great videos!! Very helpful information and insight for potential and incoming JETs =) Thank you for posting Jackie!
Great shots and cuts!
Helpful info regarding being assigned to various schools. I thought we would only be assigned to 1
i was also an ALT in rural hyogo!
How'd you find the rural placement?
@@Sev826 i loved the nature and my students. my apartment was great and i enjoyed the peace and quiet. but it was challenging as far as making friends, being involved in the JET community, and, really, basic every day conveniences.
Thank you so much for replying. What kind of placement were you hoping for? How many years did you do?
@@Sev826 i was hoping for a suburban placement in osaka, because i studied abroad at kansai gaidai. i ended up in extremely rural hyogo and was only able to last a year due to the sheer inconvenience. but it was a good experience!
Wow, geographically it is a really nice place - huge mountains with forests - really looks amazing. Since you are not there any more anyways, so it is not a "security issue" may I ask which region this was in Japan?
How are you able to drive in Japan?
I rented a car and had an international driving permit (for my first year), which I converted to a Japanese license
There seems to be a lot of English teaching go on but not much English spreading among the population?
Are you a Filipino?
Out of curiosity, were you given the use of the car from the "school district" or did they expect you to buy/rent it?
It's different from place to place, but most places that require a car will also require you to buy/rent it on your own (though normally there's a small stipend to help)
How to apply as an English Teacher in Japan? Huhu. I hope someone can help
Yvony Babor no
Cute top ^_^
How did u learn Japanese ?
Why is your annoying music so loud and the speaking whisper quiet?
it sounds fine to me!
