That tier list pisses me off! They update it once every blue moon and PSUs that sound great on paper with 10/yr warranties are on their "questionable/DO NOT BUY" list. Why does shopping for something as mundane as a power supply have to be so complex?!
and seasonic is a true oem maker of power supplies for other brands....I hate it when people make recommendations based on a brand....Corsair and EVGA along with plenty of other brands don't make anything...they put their logo on products from various oem's and markup the price to make a profit.
That is extremely useful about the power supply tester. I didn't know that existed. What are the safest parts to buy used? I've purchased used RAM and a used CPU before and a used GPU. All worked fine, but maybe I got lucky.
2:30 The Be Quiet! Pure Power 12 M line of PSUs have 10 year warranties. Also, EVGA seems to have gotten more shady. I've been seeing their new line of ATX 3.0 PSUs with only 3 year warranties. In fact, the highest I've seen on their newest models is only 7 years! I can't believe it! EVGA used to be a brand I trust, but now...with them pulling _that_ kind of shady crap I just don't know anymore.
I don't think I can survive in your room. I'd probably blow up the house experimenting with all those components. Oh try this. Put EVERY spare component you can into one build and see what you get.
My top 5 psus are. FSP. Turbo cool power supplies. Delta. Course air EVGA power. Also a shout out to MeanWell power supplies. Ive only seen afew dead ones and they failed because of neglect (smokers dust) and not from any other external means.
Also a note. If your buying a used PSU you should get a psu analizer. Its a device that plugs into the 24pin plug. Some nicer ones can also test the eps 12v connector's. Anyways it will display the voltages from the output's and some more expinsive analyzers will let you "load test" the psu as well.
hi i really appreciate it that u make this video honestly my dell psu fan not even spinning and my pc power button show a orange light i checked it on dell website it says it's a psu failure
@ Dinkie The Sink, really need your help! Every time i turn on my PC the lights would open but the hole system doesnt work. When that happens the RESTART button wouldnt work since i bought a new PSU,The first day i turned my PC on it worked perfectly... The next day the same thing happend as always,I turned on my PC and BOOOM,The lights would open but the hole system wouldnt work. This time the RESTART button would work and now when i open my PC i need to press the restart button 2 times.(WITH MY OLD PSU TO MAKE MY SYSTEM WORK I NEEDED TO HOLD THE START BUTTON TO MAKE IT TURN OFF AND PRESS IT AGAIN TO TURN ON FOR COUPLE TIMES)Thank u :(
This was months ago, so who knows what you did, but if it benefits you to give away a power supply, why not? And if it doesn't, then why bother? Your viewers probably trust you, and if you are building your own pc, a free power supply that's nice is probably a cool thing to not have to pay for because I'm guessing most people don't see them as the sexiest pieces of hardware and would rather spend their money shopping around for a GPU or a CPU or maybe a cool case. By the same token, receiving a free power supply is probably not as exciting as receiving a free GPU, etc., but it's still free and it's a necessary component that can cost a good chunk of change.
Corsair has 10 year warranty as well. Don’t go buy company go by the psu cultist tier list. They will tell you what’s trash and what’s not

The pineapple was to grab our attention and to act as an icebreaker. Well played.
My last two used ebay corsair power supplies worked just fine over these years but you're right - I should have tested it prior to installation!

Great insights and tips for acquiring a used power supply! Personally the added complexity isn't worth it for me and i'll be buying a new one.
Good to see things back to normal

buying used RAM is the safest of everything on this list...
Actually instead of PSU giveaway one your T-Shirts. I like it
Good advice man, pretty epic i'd say.
What was with the pineapple in the intro 🤣🤣🤣
They came with the psu
@@retribusion😅😅😅
Actually it should be okay if the PSU wasn’t tortured too hard.
like for mining crypto or heavy gaming
i got so paranoid about used things.
Corsair have a ten-year warranty too
I mean maybe but it doesnt change the fact that i like this video
not prepared and never use a used psu without using a meter
I recently order cooler master mwe 550watt 80 plus bronze psu used and it will be delivered within few days I was scared it would work or not .
Dinkie: should you buy used things?
Me: wait, you're not supposed to buy used stuff?
Seasonic has a 10yr and 12 yr warranty?

PSU are so cheap right now; their no reason to buy use! Save maybe 30% which you can get back on the holidays!
What chair do you have?
M getting a deal on 650 watt psu from corsair ... Should i buy it ... Its outta warranty

Pineapple = slang for MK2 fragment grenade
Talks about power supplies with multiple comments about blowing up your system.
Hmmm.
You should really customize your room

the brand should be negligible evga doesn't even make a lot of the power supplies with the EVGA name... soooo....
