Drove out under her own power!! Man that’s beautiful!! Brings a tear to eye when old ancient machines come back to life!! It’s like watching life coming back to something forgotten so amazing!!
The tracks are pinned together with steel pins and no way to lube. Since it's metal to metal they will rust together and after sitting for a long time, it takes a bit of moving in small increments to get them freed up. Good job, enjoy the old equipment being resurrected.
guys I watch a lot of video,s of guys acting like it's a big deal that the motor runs . If its free and turn.s has spark and gas , it will run if it has compression no doubt it has to run, Ive started motors that haven't run in 60 years frozen up and have them running by the end of the week. sometimes the same day. you older guy no what , Im saying. glad it.s running we need to see all of these old machines running. people look at the new machines they do not compare , to the old one,s thats why there still here, heart went into making them. have a nice day guys
A bloody superb film I came across quite by accident one day, whilst bored out my skull and flipping TV Channels. So glad I found it though. Very under-rated film here in the UK, not many people even know it exists let alone *seen* it!
Wow lucky you I wish one day to have just one crane or to operate one bay city wow old and rare more rare than Lorain in my book I’ve seen a general crane once cool I tell you keep on saving these machines
I could watch these videos all day long but I gotta get my old butt up and do something before ya'll have to come dig me out of these N. Georgia mountains. FB out !
Haha, thanks for the positive comments I really appreciate it. Never thought these vids would be so popular, but very glad people are enjoying them! As long as people enjoy them I'll keep making them; this is pretty much all we do in our spare time!
Yes you greased the tracks but you never oiled the drive chains or the tracks. Would make life a little easier. If thats a t40 or w40 engine manifolds are gonna be tough. I am a member of an IH collectors forum that may be able yo help if you cant locate one. You guys get that manifold sealed up the carb will adjust up just fine. Im very familiar with that vintage of IH stuff. We have multiple tractors from that era. Thise engines are bulletproof!
Hey look at a vid by Denise garage they’ve found a bay city in a yard with a 3-53 Detroit and it started she moved on her own power and looks in very great shape needs a boom and the crane is for sale hope you guys or someone can save her glass is still intact also
Looks like they're trying to sell the engine out of it, I hope somebody saves it as well. We talked about it, but it'd probably be a pain and expensive to go over the boarder with.
@@RustyRescues Theres a ton of channels fixing these things nowadays. I don't know who started the movement officially, but its definitely moving now. The more I watch these kind of videos, the more I realize the salvagability of these old cranes. I used to think "theres too much that could go wrong here: it's a worse money pit than a boat". Then I learned 1. Eveything is overbuilt or rebuildable 2. Everything else is covered in a thick layer of grease 3. Theres a ton of commonly-available parts to these 4. All the internals are in the 'house' so they're more "barn find" than "abandoned equipment" so long as the house is in good shape! Theres two like this sitting in some guys yard not too far from me. Maybe I should take a closer look at them, they may be salvageable (a Bay City and a Koerig iirc)
Try to contact the land owner they likely have no interest and just try to ensure them that you will safely take it out and it will no longer be contaminating the environment
Robert Harris problem with that is #1 I have no interest and #2 the guy I used to know who would know who owns that property passed away about a year ago. I enjoy watching these things being resurrected from the dead, I would love to see someone show some interest in it. If anyone would be interested, it’s located in Colon MI. (The magic capitol)
Great videos . But curious where you guys are from? I noticed in this video the guy in the black shirt from repair plus in auburn . You guys from central New York?
Typically once restored to fully operable condition, we display them at steam shows. Usually during the show we'll dig with them during demonstrations, and answer questions about them.

Another relic from the industrial age lives again...Great work.
Music to the ears. Good to see the old girl moving. Love it 😊
Thanks for saving her from the scrap pile!! Unusual tracks?? It is great to have a fun crew to work with, you are very lucky!
Wow. That radiator brought back memories. My dad use to repair them. Had forearms solid as a rock. That thing runs like a champ.
Awesome work guys 👍- rescued another piece of history😊
Love the sounds of that unit.. plus you guys ripping each other.. priceless
I really like these "drive out under there own power" restorations/rescues, and the fact that you set out with old 2 ton flatbed trucks is awesome!
Glad to see more old iron saved from the scrapyard, keep up the good work.

Preach it Brian!
All I can say is International made some awesome engines. My grandfather had a 1940 Model M tractor and I loved that thing!
This particular IHC engine might not have the best service record, but I agree that most IHC equipment was very well built.
That's a sweet engine sound, love it. 4:40
I love the garden on the front deck!
Nice work you guys! These machines are like the Dyin breed of Real men! P.s I'd take an old Flatbed ford like that anyday over the new stuff!
Great job guys. Hope you got it all done would like to see
Part 3 please and fantastic job done by all!!
Thanks for the positive feedback. I'll be doing part 3, but life has been a little crazy with things lately. Hoping to get back to editing soon.
Slingblade, classic real life imitating art imitating real life. good to see that machine running. New subscriber. Cheers

Fired right up! What a trooper!!!
I have driven a 1947 priestman. Shovel with a oldsmobile engine just like this one back in1985 .cool seating this
Good stuff! Keep us in the loop on the rehab.
Nice work, men. What a beast that thing is. Thanks.
I hope you're able to keep posting WTF's shovel progress. Its a lot of fun bringing them back to life
Haha! I will post what I can when I can, for sure. It is! And a good civic duty!
Love the videos, Taylor. Keep them coming.
Scott Parker thanks man! Will do! Good to hear from you, hope you're well.

Nice to see the old girl live again.
It has both a pull shovel and a front shovel for it, we trucked them separately.
Nice job guys! A fine machine is recued! Yeah!
She didn't sound to bad towards the end. Those valves will seat the more you runner, dang rust does not make it easy though.
amazing how these will still go after all these years
I love these old rescue videos
Nice job love it

Got me a few 10b Bucyrus Erie’s I hate them but deep down I love them
fps boss 1245 I ran a 1933 with a continentalW/pony motor. Running it was like busting rocks on a pile all day! You're arms and legs got a workout!
Those old Cornbinder 6s NEVER die. The V8s? Ehhhhh....
Felpro makes packing. But a mop head and a bar of good soap is what i use in my titan.
Sitting here watching him rock back an forward an I said out loud I would grease them after I got it out of my mouth your pop out we greased them lol
they were built less then 1000 feet from my home the shops are still there making castings
That's very cool!!!
Great work....great vid....thanks..
Great job guys even with that NS Boss WTF COOL !!!
Haha!
WTF Byrd
You left the effing and blinding in, the reality missing from most restoration videos.

Was expecting to see a drive brake any minute!
Here in Finland we called steel wire for "poor mens welding machine"....
that mag looks like an IH unit as used on their TD and UD diesels.
Yes it is! Good eye
I will probably be stealing that "it ain't got no gas in it" clip if I ever document stuff like this, that's for sure!

Not tired just sleeping
DeBoss Garage just got a dragline bucket crane with a 3cyl 2-stroke Detroit diesel running. It needs to be saved.

I know where one of those sits in the woods rotting away with the crane boom still on it.

Amazing
Yeah I seen her front spool engaging
Did you make sure the oil was topped up? 😂 Just kidding, can't believe you guys save these.
😂 I can't believe we save them either, but there's worse things we could do with our money, I suppose. Like starting a fire, perhaps.
In a severe lightning storm in a machine primarily made of metal
#noregrets !
@Rick Delair That's simultaneously awesome and hilarious!!
Shake the rust off it will be just fine
Where is part 3 ???? We're waiting
Things have been a little crazy! Will work on it soon.

The link to Part-1 is in this video description, under the title.
FUCKING BADASS (I NEED ONE FOR MY NEIGHBORS ASAP)
I didn't know Forest Gump fixed tillers.
Imagine a new mercedes standing there for so long.. it would be gone after so many years.
Did you Take out your digging dogs ?
Yes
What in the world are you guys doing with that old rusted up stuff?
Restoring it to operational condition, and running it at antique equipment shows.
Part 3 ?? Encore Encore
When is the last time Bay City has run?
We don't know.
That’s Deboss garage
What in the world are you going to do with it?
