      The BBQ Chef all I ask was why no one knows about prairie oysters.🤗🤗😂. And you are right it doesn't have anything to do with gravy.it seems that all you fancy cooks are stuck on traditional BBQ recipe's.come to Alberta Canada and the good old farm boys can and will teach you how to really cool. It makes me sick to think that the only way to cook is pittboys old school recipe's.so please stop putting on old old recipe's that we have been doing for years. I don't care what you think or say. Please come out of the dark ages and come out with some new stuff stop boating the public. I willing to bet that you can't even make your own REAL home made BBQ sauce. I can help you make your 🤗🤗🤗🤗 show a hit but you have to change just because it's your stuff does not make it right. Every one knows about old school style of cooking. 🤔 Stump. I said I would help. But stop with the old stuff. It is not working . wake up. The good old days are not always the best you're boaring. Ha tim

    Storytime: Ordered 20 KFC hot wings. I am hungry, excited, anxious. I complete the order when suddenly it hits me... I forgot to order gravy. In a panic, I rush straight to UA-cam in hope of a solution. I click a video, 40 seconds or so in length but it was giving off a weird vibe. Time is running out. I go back to the plethora of videos that UA-cam has to offer and I stumble across this one. To say that I was enlightened was an understatement. 3 minutes and 58 seconds later, I was ready. I got to the kitchen, racing against the clock. Pulled out my skillet and went to work. Suddenly, there’s a knock at the door. It’s the wings. The pressure is on. Butter? melted. Flour? added. Stock? in. Hotel? Trivago. I’m frantically stirring the mixture and then suddenly it’s starts coming together, as if by magic. I added some other ingredients too because I struggle to follow basic instructions but when I tell you, dear friend, that my gravy tasted exactly like the KFC gravy, I was astonished. Mr. The BBQ Chef, you sir are changing lives. Thankyou. Yours sincerely, Ariko.

    These are the actual ingredients in KFC gravy, which comes in powder form and they just mix with water. Water, wheat flour, modified corn starch, dextrose, potassium chloride, monosodium glutamate, salt, onion powder, high monounsaturated sunflower seed oil (manufacturing aid), autolyzed yeast extract, spices, hydrolyzed corn and soy protein, caramel, torula yeast.
    Contains wheat, soy.

    This recipe looks much tastier than the one I just made. (just 2 cubes and oil)
    I always just add the whole "stock mixture" at once...don't see what the difference is, long as all the lumps wisk out.

      If you add the water bit by bit then it pulls the lumps out of it. If you put the flour and ester together you will have too many lumps.
      That is how I make Yorkshire puddings. 57 grams of flour, 2 eggs that I whisk together into a paste, and add 100grams of milk. No lumps, silky smooth batter and great Yorkshires that always rise

    the KFC gravy sauce. in 90s, was a powder pouch mix with water and all the overcooked Flour and chicken at the bottom of the old 90's Deep frying electronic machine and exposed heating elements. The overcooked flour and chicken was place on a plate with hole to let the vegetable oil drip into a container. the Plate was place in the warm up oven to dry it more. When it was dry, it was mix with your water and powder. It was giving that strong taste and thickness. I suppose that the powder pouch was Flour with herbs and food Enhancer 621 MSG. I don't know. I'm not sure with deep pressure fryer they use today and health standards if they still use that Method. It's why now, it's seem more liquid and less tasty.
    I loved your recipe, too much butter for my taste, Baking the flour it's a good start, maybe i will try with MK 99-x seasoning and using like someone said, chicken after cooking. Chicken in slow cooker or even from a Air Fryer. I'm gone use the meat jelly or Aspic. It's not FAT, it's the gelatin you can found after the chicken is cooked and cold. It's full of vitamin and protein and retain a lot of taste. it's from the bone joint.
    thanks for your recipe, i like to cook but i'm an amateur so lot of try and ...miss.
    best regards :)

    This is very similar to a recipe I use. The only problem I had with it was you could really taste the butter. It was still good gravy, but not quite KFC. So one day as I picked up one of the roasted chicken from the supermarket.. Well, if you have ever done that, you have to be careful you don't tip over the container as there is a lot of fluid in it. This fluid is the drippings from the chicken. And there should be enough there to replace the butter with the drippings. So I did.. NAILED IT. it was so good. And then I added pepper to taste. A little at a time since the first time I did it, I added way too much. I kind of ruined the gravy that day.

      So basically use schmaltz instead of butter

    • @cgluck
      @cgluck Рік тому

      @@satoshiketchump Ya, give it a try.. And tell me if I'm wrong.. No seriously, tell me if I'm wrong.. But for me, the butter as a base fat was .. well. just too buttery. Like I said, a good gravy, but not KFC. With the chicken dripping (schmaltz), it was so much closer. Kind of makes sense. When my mom used to roast a turkey, the gravy was made from the drippings. Makes sense that the KFC gravy is made from the chicken drippings. And quite personally, I love it now.

    How come know knows how to cook prairie oysters. I am from the farm and the people do not know what it is and how much they are missing out on. Some one let me know if you know what I am talking about. They are fantastic breaded.

      So let me get this right, you watch a video on how to make KFC Gravy and you compare it to making Prairie Oysters? Not entirely sure you commented on the right video but thanks for the comment anyway 😀

      By the way, I certainly know that Prairie Oysters are calf's testicles. Not my cup of tea but I'm also not one to judge.

    This is quite funny considering the Colonel stormed away from KFC Board and sought refuge in Toronto for the last decades of his life. What caused all this ? He said the gravy 'tasted like wall paper paste' and KFC refused to fix it. I haven't tasted wall paper paste but think he's probably right as it certainly is nothing to brag about.

    This is a fine gravy, chicken gravy. But where are the KFC original flavors? I will try it, but I cannot understand where the KFC comes from. Is it really just like the chicken? Very nice either way, regards.

      @Thebarbequechef  5 років тому

      The idea of this video is to give you an easy way to prepare some chicken gravy that tastes similar to the Gravy that KFC serve. The main difference is that KFC put the dregs from the bottom of the fryer into their gravy, not a pleasant thought to my mind. Thanks for the comment 👍

      Colonel Sanders Original "Cracklin Gravy 1952-1964" (Large Tub size)
      1 TBSP butter (not margarine!!)
      1/4 cup Original Recipe breading flour
      1/2 cup cracklings strained from the pressure cooker or frying pan
      1 cup whole milk - cold
      1 cup boiling water
      1/4 cup whole cream - cold
      Put the butter, flour and cracklings into a frying pan over low to medium heat. Stir continuously until the ingredients are fully blended and the raw flour is lightly browned. This takes a few minutes. The roux should not be darker than peanut butter brown. If you burn it, dump it, clean the pan start again. (If you are a novice gravy maker you might want to save your cracklins until the end so you won't waste them on a burned batch.)
      Gently pour the milk, hot water, and cream, continue stirring until it begins to thicken. Taste the gravy and add extra salt or pepper if needed. Allow the mixture to come to a light boil, when it is the thickness you want turn off the heat and serve.
      Compare the original gravy above to the KFC gravy after the Colonel sold out...
      Corporate KFC gravy 1964-1971 (Large Tub size)
      1/8 cup breading flour
      1/8 cup cracklings
      2 cups skim milk
      Today's mixture is even worse, it has cornstarch, sugar, gravy powder, caramel coloring etc. Sometimes I wonder what KFC would do if someone actually went into business today using the Colonels recipes as he intended them to be.
