I wonder if any of thse JW's can explain why the "generation" teaching changed in 1995 to the "overlapping generation", yes this teaching changed in 1995 when they had not other choice but to change it because pretty much anyone that was alive in 1914 was dead by then. Why would Jehovah allow this incorrect teaching to continue for decades and decades and only change it after the witnesses had painted themselves into a corner. Kinda makes you think doesnt it. yes!..beause the word generation has different meanings and nuances!..we were wrong in it's most literal understanding!...the good news is still being preached and MILLIONS are being added each decade!!...but, the end WILL come!...this is where endurance and faith are REQUIRED!... also..Jehovah allows us to be wrong...why?..that alone is a test!...He never told us we would have perfect knowledge!...but, just like peter did not understand when Jesus said 'you must eat my flesh and drink my blood'....altho MANY left off following Jesus beause he said that...when asked if he wanted to leave..peter had the right atttitude..he KNEW Jesus was the Christ..he did not understand the very graphic words Jesus used..but, he KNEW that Jesus was from God...so, he said 'where would I go?..you have sayings of everlasting life'!!"..the same is true today...there is NO OTHER gropu on earth who can compare to Jehovah Witnesses!...NONE..not even close!...so..if things come up that I don't understand...or I have to change my view..I understand that the error was ours..it does not change the truths!..so, I ask myself 'where would I go?''..can ANYONE show me something BETTER than Jehvoah's witnessses?

Isn’t it interesting that he chose a scripture from Exodus, not Matthew which is where the original concept of the generation teaching comes from (Matthew 24:34). Why would he do that since Exodus was written 1300 years before Matthew? Perhaps Splane doesn’t know about Matthew 1:17 where the bible writer describes 14 generations as single generations, not overlapping generations. Interesting that Splane has to go to the Hebrew scripture to “cherry pick” a scripture that somewhat supports his idea of an overlapping generation, but it doesn’t. Additionally, with the current overlapping generation teaching, one also would have to explain how Jesus was speaking of a generation lasting in excess of 180 years and counting. Please provide scriptural backing for a generation teaching lasting 180+ years. If you cant than please tell me how to reconcile Jesus words at 1 Cor 4:6 where he says “do not go beyond the things written.” Yes, I would love to discuss it.
